(We've been getting a steady stream of compliments about the new sidewalk from passersby.) But what really made this company stand out was the people. Every one of the team members was genuine, thoughtful, kind, and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting them, and learning about each other. After they finished the job, we asked them if they might be willing to move a giant pile of sod that had been sitting in our back yard for two years. They came back out with the same great attitude, did the job at a fair price, and cleaned up the work site afterwards. We couldn't be happier. When it's time to replace our other old concrete, we won't hesitate to call them. If you're in need of concrete work, call these guys first. You won't be disappointed.

They even provided one the spot renderings so we could envision what the final outcome would be. I can't begin to explain how they turned our project into something that is showcase quality. Their attention to detail and professionalism is of the highest standards. The crew were respectful of property, genuinely professional and they completed our project in record time. Chris was everything you want in a contractor: timely, polite, accurate, and skilled at his craft. The only delays we had on the project were in getting material due to the supply chain issues with the materials we selected. It is always difficult making every decision related to a project but Chris helped us a ton here with the right amount of opinion and consultation when we needed it and he put us in contact with other great contractors for concrete and asphalt work we had done. I added descriptions for each picture but you can tell there was a lot of care and detail that went into leveling out the area, digging out the soil, moving it to the wall area, and getting that pretty square corner out of these curved blocks! The right side of the stairs (looking at it) is sloped and supported by the dirt that's also supporting the retaining wall. The left side is a sharp dirt edge which we left like that with a bit of a gap for a future fence, so no point smoothing it out. Very communicative, happy to make adjustments, double checked that everything was well explained before working on it, and reasonably priced. They got this job done in no time and made some intense work look easy, highly recommend.

After the work was done, it was all put back together and meticulously cleaned - you cannot tell that any work was done there; absolutely perfect! It was not easy to do what they did at that particular location. Value: Even though foundation repair/work is a costly service/installation; you certainly get what you pay for with Ram Jack West. I received more value than what I paid. You see, their value started 4 years ago, in 2022. I had them come out, define and price the job and signed a contract and paid 1/2 upfront. Within a couple weeks after signing I became critically ill, in the ICU and Hospital for 2 months. As a result I lost my job among other things and have a permanent disability. I reached out to Ram Jack West and they, very graciously, supported me by refunding my money immediately - especially at my greatest time of need. This is well above and beyond exceptional for a business and that is a huge factor as to why I called them back, in 2026, after I had stabalized, and got some money together. They re-bid the job, I expanded what I wanted to have done and they accomodated my requests. They helped me work out financing and walked me through the processes very thoroughly. The result was a delight from start to finish and all of it ended up being done well ahead of schedule. Truly class act! Thank you so much!

They were all very friendly and trustworthy. We are very pleased with our deck replacements and the dry rot pieces they both identified and replaced on our front support columns. Bruce also hung up our new address numbers for us at the conclusion of the project, which was a big help for us! We did not receive an invoice until the very end of the project (after 3 of 4 payments were made), but did receive one nonetheless. Despite this, we don't have any concern about Bruce and his team coming out to repair anything that should arise. Though, we don't expect that to happen based on the quality work they provided. Their focus is on their craft, not the administrative pieces of the business. I highly recommend Shaffer & Sons and will keep Bruce's contact information should we, our friends, or family members require any work completed in the future.
