I had a truly awful experience at this nail salon. Hygiene and cleanliness were clearly not a priority here, and it made the whole visit feel uncomfortable and unsafe. The tools they used were not sanitized, and the towels were stained and smelled bad. The pedicure tub was filthy and discolored, and to make matters worse, they removed the disposable tub liner and actually tried to get me to put my feet back into the dirty water. That was a huge red flag for me. They tried to use a rusty cheese grater on my feet and an old, dirty used nail file, which is both unprofessional and potentially dangerous. The technician wore dirty gloves while handling products, then didn't even wear gloves at all when cutting my nails toward the end of the service. As if all that weren't bad enough, they were also very pushy about tips, which made the whole experience feel rushed and uncomfortable. I would never return here and strongly recommend others avoid this place. There are far cleaner and more professional salons out there. Honestly not sure how they haven't been shut down by the health department. read more

This is my second time going to luxury nails spa. The first, I asked for a quick fill and was in and out no problem. This time I went in for a full set and pedi. The staff was nice and I got in the pedi chair a few minutes after I walked in. The pedi had all the extras: scrub, hot stones, and shellac. I took 1 star because they are aggressive with the cuticles. There were some slips that cut the ones on my hands and one toe on my foot after asking to cut less. Also, I took a second star as there are bubbles in my nails and less than full coverage at the end of the tips. They were overall very quick and cost was low for Seattle. I really wish I could give them a 5 star because I've gone here on and off for years. The ladies are friendly and welcoming but my most recent visit I got a pedicure and although they use plastic in the bowls. They are almost black. There's so much dirt and filth underneath the plastic. They no longer clean them. I feel like if they have time to snack, nap and be on their phones they have time to clean. So gross. I've been going to Luxury Nails for the past 5 years and have had only one less than excellent experience. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes but I think it's well worth it. The girls are always in a good mood and everyone greets you. I always make a reservation with Kim because I have an issue with ingrown toenails. Getting those taken care of can be quite painful, but Kim is an expert, and I emphasize "expert" in this category. The deluxe pedicure is $40 but includes a scrub with a massage, a long lotion massage, warm paraffin, hot stones and polish. For an extra $5 the owner, Tammi, will paint a beautiful flower applique on your toe! This place is well worth the money, and $40 is extremely reasonable for a deluxe pedicure. I stopped getting my nails done here because the last time I came to get acrylics, the nail tech was filing the sides of my nails so rough that it literally cut through my skin. 4/5 fingers on each hand was cut on the side. I was physically expressing I was in pain but the nail tech brushed it off. I tried talking to her to lighten up the atmosphere, but she was clearly agitated. She expressed she has not ate lunch due to how busy the salon was. It's unfortunate because I really enjoyed coming here at first... until I felt like the nail tech was taking her anger out on my nails by cutting my skin. I've been here around 5 times now and love it. They always check in with me multiple times to see if I like the shape, length, and color of my nails. Most places will never ask you if you like your nails so far. They will only get upset when you ask them to change something. Not here, they are happy to change it for you, so you can walk away happy. At some places you get the vibe that the techs are talking about you. That's absolutely not the case here. I have gone here the last few times I've gotten my nails done since moving from the south Seattle area and not wanting to travel to my old nail tech and I will say I like how quick the service is and I like that while I'm getting my feet done I can also get my nails done but the last three sets I've gotten from this place my nails have popped off within a week and a half, not even broken just straight up popping off full nails it always starts with 1 then before I'm into week 2 most of my nails are gone. I suggest maybe taking the proper steps to assure the nails are secure and the nail beds are properly dehydrated before applying the tips. I'm trying to give them a fair chance because the nail art is decent and the prices are somewhat decent and it's close to home. But I also feel like I should be able to go in for fill having more than five out of 10 nails. read more

The employees who helped us very nice and I believe they tried hard to do a good job as they took their time, but the experience was lacking -- especially with many other nail salons in the area for a similar price point. First, I made an appointment ahead of time and arrived promptly for my scheduled time. I had to wait 30 minutes before I was seated for a pedicure while others without appointments were seated ahead of me, and another 15 minutes before the service started. I am very familiar with nail salon appointments and how they rarely ever run on time, but 45 minutes is excessive. This isn't the place to go if you're in a hurry, or if you even need to PLAN your time accordingly. Most importantly, I don't believe they follow proper sanitation requirements for their equipment. I saw an employee take out a pair of nippers from a box, open them, and flick out some stuff (which I assume to be nails or cuticle buildup from the previous client) and give it a quick spray with alcohol before beginning work on the next client. So gross and unsettling. That was the nail in the coffin and why I won't be back. read more

They have tons of colors and they already have pre-painted nail examples to look at because the color changes from what's in the container. If I could rate negative stars for my service today, I would... Came in today to get my acrylics taken off (starting massage school so I can't have them). My nail tech cut the ends off of the acrylics and proceeded to take a fresh acrylic tip and wedge is between my nails and the acrylics I had in order to remove them. This is something I've never had done before out of all the years I've had acrylics done. And it hurt like hell because of the way she was holding my fingers... I asked her to cut them short and just put a clear coat of polish. Upon my inspection, I had my actual nails split in multiple places and they have already broken, some almost to the quicks of my nail beds. She didn't even attempt to smoothen out my nails at all. She just removed the acrylic, soaked my fingers in water and then painted. The polish job was terrible, and that's pretty ridiculous being that I only had clear polish! Needless to say I will not be returning to this salon, which is unfortunate because I've had great service every other time I've come in... What a waste of 12.50 read more

I'd never been to a salon that fully engages with the customer the entire service. The quality of their work is impressive for the price you pay. I went in today with something in mind and they executed it perfectly! This was my 5th visit and if I ever said I wanted something changed or a certain way they did it with zero hesitation. (Saying it was a deluxe version) but they did the same as a lady next to me who was getting a regular...then they skipped the steps on the Shellac to save money. I was a regular client until one of the statistician made a mistake and me telling her it was missing pigmentation color and did so many covers, that the following day all color fell off during my shower. I used to go here, and I thought was great value because they were so cheap compared to other places. But they are completely unsanitary. They don't bag their pedicure tubs, they don't use sanitized utensils (should be coming out of a ziplock type bag, for those that don't know). I actually got a toe nail fungus that took 2 years to clear up. I highly recommend going elsewhere that have proper sanitizing techniques and procedures. But if you enjoy something cheap you do get what you pay for. I think that if they just followed proper sanitizing they would be 3 stars at least. I have been going to these ladies for 2 years now, approaching 3. They are great, friendly, and remember you after the first couple of times going. My nails are always perfect and lovely, I adore this place. I had one bad experience with a knew employee, where she made my nail bed bleed, but the owner rectified the situation and I am happy with how it was handled and the care I received afterwards. So even after the less than desirable experience, I would still only go to these ladies. Also, as an FYI, I was told the newer employee will be training more before working on any more customers so don't let that scare you away from this place. :) read more

At first I was being helped by a lady that was filing my nails at an angle and cut a cuticle causing it to bleed. She was very sweet and apologetic and I asked if she could please file them a little straight. She was trying but couldn't get it right. Tammy came and took her seat. She immediately fixed my nails and did a great job. She's obviously a professional. I was shocked when I found out it was only $20 for the shellac manicure. I've been paying so much more in other places for mediocre quality. I will definitely go back and request Tammy.
