This place sucks. We ordered two turkey clubs and thirty minutes later they informed us that they were out of turkey - at 11:30 am on a weekday? What, they are not paying their butcher? So we ordered a BLT and scramble eggs and twenty minutes later, no order. We walked out. The manager was useless. Go some place else. read more

The wife and I came here because it was highly reviewed. I'm not sure if it was a off day for them or what. But once we got seated and our order taken, our waitress was nowhere to be found during our meal. In fact I had to track her down to get my check and she rolled her eyes at me... Stopped by the Luxury Diner on the way to a concert in Colorado and on the suggestion of my girlfriend, ordered the Breakfast Burrito. The waitress suggested adding chorizo, and asked if we wanted the large or the small. We each ordered a large, with chorizo. I found this place looking on Yelp and it was great. I'm glad I didn't just go to one those chain restaurants as this place is full of character. I saw another review that said it was in a dodgy part of town. I'm fairly certain that person has never been outside of their little city of Cheyenne as that's completely untrue in my opinion. Nice people, great service and good food. The diner building itself was also very cool with main dining area in an old converted train car. Donna, our waitress was very friendly and very good at what she does. My dad owned and operated a diner for 25 years and he would have loved this place. Btw - the homemade biscuits are huge and good! 1st went for breakfast 7/21, great food, worse service I have ever had in my life. Young waittress must have been 1st day on job. Took her 15 minutes to come over and offer coffee/water, then another 15-20 minutes to come over and take order, then in another 20 minutes came over to finally offer refills and realized had not put our order in! Another 15 minutes to get order, then sat at table with empty plates for another 15 minutes before finally bringing check over. Simple breakfast turned into about a 2 hour excursion. 2nd day 7/22 returned and got same waittress, considered leaving but thought we'd give her a 2nd chance. Was better, didn't forget our order this time, but still slow. Place was busy but not slammed, and on occassions would see her in back chatting with workmates as opposed to working her tables. Food was tasty, big portions, reasonably priced. Great coffee. I rate 3 stars as the food was really good and figure poor service was just based on just one employee. read more

Extremely over rated. Ate there around lunch time and waited over an hour for my food to arrive. No one apologized or made any effort to make the experience better. When the food arrived it was just O.K. Nothing outstanding. Bought a cinnamon roll on the way out. Worst dessert I've ever ordered anywhere! Hard as a rock and completely tasteless. My family and I have been traveling for the last 8 days and found The Luxury Cafe on Yelp! Best home cooked meal we had all week! My husband had the best chicken friend steak breakfast meal ever! The French Dip and fries was fantastic! The best part is the owner brought out the biggest cinnamon roll ever!! Our 3 sons can't wait to go back! Just 1.5 miles off I-25. The WORST experience a restaurant could ever give to its customers! I ordered a footlong cheesesteak, but it came out a 6 inch. I asked what had happened to my footlong cheesesteak and then she told me that they didn't serve footlong cheesesteaks AFTER I ordered the sandwich. She should have at least told me before I ordered! This shows the waitress didn't know what she was doing. The six inch was $9.95. Don't waste your hard earned money on this restaurant. Our dog can make better food than this. read more

Visited during Frontier days, so was "busy", but the service was bad. No, actually it was abysmal. Well over an hour to get our food after waiting quite a while to order. Waitress was actively avoiding and/or ignoring us, never checked on a drink refill or to say "it's coming" in that time. Watched several other tables nearby turn over twice before getting our food. After all that, the food was average to poor. Overcooked chicken fried steak and a stale biscuit. After having to get up and chase down the waitress for a check, manager asked "how was it" and then got a blank stare and no interest from him too. Not one person in the place seemed to care about anything. It was SO bad, this is the first time I ever was driven to write a review on restaurant. read more

We ate here twice. The first time it was good. My hash browns were cooked perfectly and my over-medium eggs were also cooked nice. So, of course when a friend came to visit, I thought this was the place to go for breakfast. We arrived and it was busy. We waited by the door for a while. That is fine, except when we got sat. We were seated on the far north wall. This time, because it was slow and closer to a window (?) I got a good look at the "cleanliness" of this place. The floor was gross. We actually put a piece of newspaper down before putting out purses down. It wasn't gross with spilled food from the day, it was dust and grime. It had clearly not been cleaned in a while. This killed it for me. After working in several restaurants as a server, if the staff slacks on parts you can see that should be cleaned, you can bet the kitchen reflects that. My friend ordered chicken strips and they obviously came frozen from a bag. Not good. My first review would have been 4 stars, now I struggle to give it 2. End of story:hit or miss on the food, strongly question the cleanliness, and I will not be back. read more

First time there, I heard the chicken fried steak is good...so I ventured there. You can definitely pass it if you blink. What a cute place, an old caboose, with memorabelia on the walls. I got the chick fried steak, and WOW..it was awesome. Everything was super homeade, and I got a side of green chili which was awesome and the sweet tea. I will be telling everyone. Stopped in last week on my way from South Dakota to Denver after a few days of camping. One of the most enjoyable meal experiences of my life. I had the steak & eggs and my friend had the chicken fried steak -- both were amazing -- exactly what you want from a great diner. I'm pretty sure we were the only non-regulars in the place -- the waitresses not only knew every other patrons' name, but also their regular order.
