Santino, their lead tech (found this out because I asked after being impressed by the tune) nailed it - my skis performed perfectly! I chose to write a review because I was impressed by the consultation and "custom" tune based on my skiing style and ability. I also appreciated the communication around the pick up/drop off to find a time that worked for me. These guys clearly know what they're doing.

We were extremely pleased with the Jeep and its capabilities. The Jeep was very well maintained and ready for our challenges. We were so impressed with Backbone Adventures we returned Sunday October 11 to rent a Polaris Razor two seater for the day to drive the Rollins Park trail. The Toyota Tacoma tow vehicle, trailer and Razor were in excellent condition and ready to go upon our arrival. Trevor did a wonderful orientation and very highly recommended Rollins Park. It was amazing!!! We were also pleased that Backbone Adventures gave a 5% discount to first responders and 10% discount to return customers. I was needing a motorcycle trip with a friend but friend no have motorcycle. This made me sad. Ok,…read moreenough with the bad grammar and silliness. We did a little poking around on the net and came across Tourbikes.com. Neither of us wanted the typical loud Harley, we wanted something more geared toward a sport touring bike. Tourbikes.com fit the bill. They have several different styles of BMW along with a Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, a Suzuki, and a Can Am Spyder. The rental includes, helmet/helmets, raingear, tour bags for the bike, and optinoal GPS for a minimal charge. Bill, the owner, takes care of the motorcycles and keeps them in tip top running condition. We rented the BMW F650GS Twin, which wasn't the nicest bike he had but it suited our needs just fine. The hand warmers were wonderful for the night ride and trips to the summits. I weigh in at 220, plus had another 50 or 60 lbs of gear, 6'-1" and the bike handled beautifully. If you are shorter, say 5'-5" the bike is a little difficult to mount and dismount but once you are on it you should still be able to comfortably touch the ground. It had plenty of power for the mountains. But enough about the bike and more about the business. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable about not only the bikes but where to go and what to see in Colorado. The only downside that I could ever find is that you need to call about a 1/2 hour ahead to meet up with him at the store. This is such a miniscule inconvenience I almost did not mention it. But that is what Yelp is for, to get all of the details on a business. Do not let this small detail deter you from renting here!!! You WILL NOT be dissapointed. The prices were about the same if not just slightly cheaper than the other business we checked. I am betting though that if you go to one of the other larger rental shops that you could be stanging around waiting your turn to get on the bike and ride. Not here! We were in and out in just a few minutes. NOT THAT I SUGGEST DOING THIS but I was able to contact Bill late in the night to ask a few questions about renting the bikes. I believe it was 8 or 8:30. Anyway, he was extremely easy to contact and to talk to about the details of the rental. We will be renting again soon. He has a nice stable of BMWs. He includes bags with all of his bikes, which is a great addition for those of us planning a multi-day tour. Also, this bike has a taller aftermarket windshield that provided good body coverage, and the slipstream over the top did not interfere or cause turbulence for my full face helmet. Heated grips and accessory power for heated vest were welcomed, as temps were 40s-50s, spring in the mountains! Also, the bike already had a RAM mount ball on the handlebars, so I was able to mount some accessories I brought. Will definitely rent again.

We've been coming out to IMI for years, mostly because there are limited options in this area, and…read morethe kids enjoy coming here. I personally can't say I share their enthusiasm, but we continue to come because they enjoy it. That said, I honestly don't understand the recent price increase when the overall experience and facilities haven't improved. For one bike for a 10-year-old, we paid $30, which feels pretty steep for what you actually get. The track itself may be enjoyable for the kids, although I personally think the tracks could be better, especially compared to others throughout the state. Either way, the amenities and overall experience for spectators simply don't justify the increased cost. There are extremely limited shaded areas for parents and spectators. There's basically one small area with shade in a large, wide-open space where most people are sitting in direct sun. More shaded seating would make a huge difference. And the bathrooms are a major issue. The porta-potties are consistently disgusting, there wasn't even toilet paper available for the women. That is a pretty basic amenity to expect at a facility that is charging admission. I also honestly don't remember seeing a trash can anywhere, which makes the lack of cleanliness even more frustrating. I could understand an increase in price if there had been meaningful improvements to the facility. For example, there is plenty of room for at least a couple of pavilions since the tracks are spread out, or even just some additional benches and shaded seating. Cleaner, properly stocked bathrooms, additional porta-potties, and adequate trash cans would also go a long way toward improving the experience. But as far as we can tell, literally nothing has changed. And this isn't a complaint from someone who showed up once and had a bad experience. We've been coming here for years, and I actually left a review two years ago with the exact same complaints about the dirty and unstocked porta-potties. Two years later, we're still dealing with the same issues. The kids want to continue coming, but if you're going to increase the price, then the quality of the amenities and overall experience needs to increase as well. At $30 for one kid to ride one bike, I just don't feel the cost reflects what you're getting. Hopefully some of that additional revenue can actually go toward improving the facilities and making IMI a better experience, not just for the riders, but for the parents and spectators who spend their time and money there too.

I have had service done here previously, and I have always dropped off my bike myself, mainly because it's always a nice ride up to the dealership in Frederick. Well this time I was having issues with my ignition lock assembly, and it just happen to snow the week this happened. I could've waited till it got nice to ride in. However, I wanted to make sure this was fixed in time for the Children's Hospital Toy Run in December. So I called up to High Country Harley-Davidson, and spoke to Eddie (not sure if this is the correct spelling). He advised me that they could pick up my bike that Sunday, which they normally didn't do, but they had another delivery near by that day. As any normal person, I had worries that it was going to cost a few "Benjamin's", to get my sled fixed. However, Eddie called a few days later to advise me, my sled had been fixed for a nominal price, I was stoked. Eddie then advised me that it so happened that the truck was going to be in the vicinity of my neighborhood again this weekend (for an affordable fee). I have dealt with a couple Harley-Davidson dealerships in my time, to service my bikes, and this was by far the best experience that I have had.
