Kayla is very well versed in all things skin. I booked a microdermabrasion treatment and facial before leaving and I was fully confident she would be the Lady for the job! Kayla did spot testing before beginning to ensure I wouldn't have any discomfort or negative reaction due to my very sensitive skin. Kayla made sure to ask me throughout the treatment how I was doing and how it felt. I am so happy I found Kayla and Carolina Day Spa! My face looked and felt like a baby's skin in just one treatment. Columbia does not have many noteworthy spa locations so my fingers and toes were crossed for OCCO and they did not disappoint. All the staff I interacted with was really lovely. I had a less than 10 minute wait time for my services and the teams hand walked me between professional which was really lovely. They even carried my stuff, just that golden touch! I went on a Monday night, during the time of Covid. Highly recommend. Fantastic service and zero wait time. Both massage therapist and cosmetologist were not talkative and I was actually able to relax. Lovely little waiting room with treats and drinks. It was winter but it looks like they are mindful and provided lots of seasonal items as well. The pedicure/manicure area also looked lovely, even though I did not use this service. I would come back for it though. They have a card on file and it makes it so much easier at check out when all you want to do is relax and not have to dig in your purse. The only thing better would be if they would let you pay first before the service so you could just float out the front door. It really was a great time and I am a spa snob. Enjoyed a nice glass of Pinot Grigio in a relaxing setting while hanging out with fun, cool nail artist Malika. She did amazing work too, perfectly rounded nails displaying a vibrant color. She's been having some neck tension and spasms, and we wanted to treat her to a massage this Mother's Day to help alleviate some of that. She is located in the Personally Fit gym on Gadsen. There are about 5 reserved parking spots to the side as well as metered spots out front. You need to go to the back of the gym and turn right to find her. Inside, you have a relaxing seating area and then the massage room. She will give you your choice of music. If you are congested, she likes to use eucalyptus to open up those nasal passages. Just a little background on me: Today, I sat down and finally counted the # of massage therapists I have tried in Columbia for a deep tissue massage. The total? 8. Yup, at several other brick-and-mortars in the city. I like a true deep tissue massage, not gentle Swedish strokes though she does offer Swedish as well. She hits my tension knots every single time without missing and I consistently leave much more relaxed and relieved. Jen truly has a gift of a healing touch as well as a caring empathetic bedside manner to her. She will make you feel at ease instantly. I moved out of Cola recently, and I honestly wish I could have taken with me in my luggage. If you need tension relief, please visit her.
