I came in as a walk-in for my first time ever here. I, requesting a dip powder and needing my previous application removed. I was greeted warmly. No one was available to take me, however if I could come back at 2:30, I could be seen by Jennie. I totally didn't mind since my afternoon was wide open. Jennie took a look at my nails because she wanted to be sure could do the work in the allotted time. Once we agreed I was on my way. I returned at the agreed upon time. Jennie was happily waiting for me. She let me choose my colors. She asked me a few questions about my previous experience with dip powder. She explained the process and how she operates. She did an amazing job! The application was not too thick and looked elegant. The quality of her work was excellent. Her station was immaculate. Jennie did exactly what I asked for. Overall experience was very nice and accommodating for my two year old to stay with me. With that said, I am coming from Miami where similar or even more economically priced services include refreshments (water, soda, snacks, even a glass of wine). Kym did my nails. I usually go to another shop and due to a family trip, they were closed. I went on the site and made an appointment. I was there on time and Kym was ready to get started on me. I needed my gel nails redone and paint change on my feet. Kym was delightful and engaging. She didn't try to upscale me for anything. I went to Carolina for undergrad and always went to Capital Nails located downtown. After moving to the NE, I wanted to find a salon close to me. I went to a certain nail salon but had bad experiences the past three visits. I looked on Yelp and found Nail Studio. I had a wonderful experience. I always get gel manicures and Ms. Kim did a wonderful job!! She is so pleasant to talk to and a sweet lady. I showed up around 5 and the salon was supposed to close at 6. She did not rush and took her time perfecting my nails. I highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly and the salon is clean. I'm so glad I came. FYI, the salon is closed on Tuesdays. I relocated to this area a few months ago and suffered through rude technicians and poor service. Until finding Nail Studio, I was unsuccessful finding quality pedicure service worth paying for. I visited Nail Studio today and left very pleased. Trung did an awesome job on my feet. He was attentive, patient and very polite. I made an appointment online and the process was painless. They weren't overbooked and my wait time was less than 5 minutes. I would recommend making an appointment. Additionally, I appreciated the straight forward pricing. Where I'm from most salons were never questionable with their great services, cost, and results. When I'd moved to S.C. it was difficult to find a salon that just provided these services on just a basic level. But, after many time wasted and money lost I'd FINALLY found Nail Studio off of Spears Creek Road. Actually it was just after having walking out from another studio nearby because in the middle of my scheduled appointment they'd stopped working on my nails to work on a "walk in" customer, and b/c the person working on me did not know what she was doing...huh, what, ugh????##!*$@ :/ I've only had the pleasure to have Molly (one if the owners) , and Kim work on my nails, and both are outstanding at what they do, & with the same personal services. Molly and her husband own Nail Studio, and Kim is Molly's mom, but you'd never know b/c they are always professional not to display any personal relations. I've only had French manicures (gel fills & full set tips) and simple pedicures done, and Kim always does a good job, and is always consistent with each visit....white tips not too fat and not too thin, but clean and natural looking, and not how she thinks it should be, but how I think I'd like it to be. Pedicures are good, could do a little better on the little details like scrubbing off the calisus, the dry skin on upper foot and toes, trimming cutcules & corns, but still ok, it doesn't seem like the norm here in S.C. so I can't blame Nail Studio for not providing these services like I was used to back home. My presence is always acknowledged from the time I walk in, until the time I leave. Studio's always clean, organized, and foot tubs & tools are always disinfected after each use. Colors are new, fresh, and up to date with the times, and the atmosphere is comfortable....and OPEN ON SUNDAYS!!!! ***Just a quick and friendly note, b/c they are always busy, it is wise to make an appointment by calling or making one from their website. I came in with my mother and grandmother for a back to school/ pre-finals manicure; while they got pedicures. The service was truly amazing and I had to wait about 20min, because we were walk-ins and normally that's a bit long to me. Yet their customer service and hospitality make up for the wait. Even though their were several other people who came in behind me, they didn't try and rush through our nails or do a sloppy job. Also as someone who tends to be quiet (mainly cause I never know what to say), my nail tech did a fabulous job of starting and holding a conversation with me. I tend to stay away from "nail shops"; personal preference. I have years of experience in nail care to include the use of gel nail polish. I typically do my own. I am also quite familiar with appropriate tools, technique and necessary hygiene for safety. My first visit here occurred when an item of clothing of mine stained my clear gel nail polish a dark grey color a few hours before I had an important event to attend. I rushed in and was pleased to find that a pleasant young man, quickly yet skilfully, shaped and polished my nails beautifully. I was very pleased. A few weeks later I came in again on a Friday. I had a doctors appointment just up the road in 2 hrs. I walked in to see how busy/full the shop was. Two employees were doing hand work on customers, three were doing pedis and one woman was waiting ahead of me. When I told the gentleman I wanted clear gel polish he said "ok, no problem there is just a little bit of a wait". Sounded wonderful to me! Clearly in hindsight I realize "little" is subjective. 45 min later a gentleman comes over and removes the old gel polish from my nails and then begins a pedicure on a woman who had an appointment (not a walkin like myself - though "walk-ins welcome IS posted). Now 60 min later an older woman finishes a mani on a woman-and gestures to me to come to her table. She motions for me to place my hands onto the towel covered in nail dust, wet spots etc that she used on the previous client. I say "no, please change that". She does not, she simply removes it and puts it in a hamper and motions for me to put my hands on the now towelless but yet to be cleaned table. I do. She then proceeds to file my natural nails with either an 80 or 100 grit file.....these should NOT be used on natural nails-way too rough. Any esthetician would know this. Any nail or makeup enthusiast would. My nails were being ripped into a rough, jagged shape and--she was fine with that. She then inspected her "work" and instructed me to go wash my hands. She then started setting up to polish. I asked her if they had a finer grain file--like the one used on me at my previous visit. She said "no". I politely asked her for the file and very gently reshaped my OWN nails. Then I washed my hands. I came back to a soaking bowl and instruments......I declined having my cuticles soaked or cut. So we proceeded. She buffed, polished and cured my nails w CLEAR gel. She also repaired one that was torn. In the end......I had black specks in the cured clear polish of 4 nails.....and indentations in 2 nails. It waa 20 minutes until my appoinment time now... I spoke to the ,manager showed her the specks and dents......said "we will fix now". I told her I had a physicians appt in 20 min and an event TONIGHT (why Id wanted these freshly done). I mentioned the improper use of the board and she actually argued that they do this "alll the time". She said "you should tell her you dont like". I told her that I had but each time she filed they got more jagged, and shorter. Convo w manager was going no where so I paid, tipped and left. Later as I thought about it I decided it would be fair to requesest a refund\ stop payment on the card I used. I call my bank (usaa) and rep.says that it is still in pending status and vendor JUST needs to provide her with credit card transaction approval code to stop it. We do a 3 way call......so that bank can get approval # for transaction to cancel. Since money has not left my bank yet and is in "pending" status -their bank is not yet involved. Too easy for them at this point. However once we ask and explain.......the tone of the call QUICKLY changes..... They begin to come up with excuse after excuse and are filibustering as if I had just proposed a bill they were vehemently against.........a very loud, angry man comes on the phone and begins to yell and refuse. He orders my bank rep to speak to her supervisor (she WAS the supervisor), he tells me that I am (I might add that I was in uniform on my way home from work *a soldier* when I was in the shop earlier that day) "not worth sh** and better never come back in again". My reply to which was "you CERTAINLY dont have to worry about that". I also said "you can choose not to refund my money- but this is not over." He ultimately did NOT refund and so this isnt over. I am now posting this story to EVERY review site I can find. Once I have done that, contacted the BBB and the SC DOL- it will be over- for me. Also I think you should all know that this man said to us.....(pertaining to myself) "well I have everything about you right here, your name, address, your number and all your credit card information"....in a very threatening manner. My bank rep said "Sir we dont provide that during transactions and will NEVER provide it to you-yet he insisted he had it. Stay far away. I intend to tell my story to any one who will listen. I am especially concerned about their cleanliness and lack of integrity. Sad really. read more

Jennifer is very unprofessional. Never returning to this salon. As a woman who has been fighting infertility for 4 years, I felt humiliated and disrespected. As soon as I walked in she yelled from across the room "Are you pregnant yet?". I was embarrassed and humiliated. That is NOT ok. She is super sarcastic and makes me feel uncomfortable. Avoid Jennifer if you want to save your sanity. Soak spa in Forest Drive is a bit pricier, but they are super respectful, clean, and do a better job. read more

This is my "go to" nail salon when I have time to make an appointment. I have tried many other salons around town when I do not have time to go to Nail Studio, but I find myself always coming back to Nail Studio. Why? It is a clean and relaxing environment. The staff are all excellent and friendly. They provide consistently great service. The only negative I can say is that I cannot figure out their online appointment booking system. I treated my daughters and myself to mannies and the lady swore up and down that the gel nails would last 3 weeks. She said this over and over again. They last only 5 days. All 3 of us had chips at the tips and sides. I paid $120 for the 3 of us, plus tip. The guy that works there stayed on his cell phone the whole time while giving my daughter her manicure. He was filing her actual finger tip because he had cut the nail so short and not paying attention. I am calling to complain and will post their response. We definately will not return. read more
