The alteration person had a family emergency, so I asked for the dress back and he said we can't get to it. It's in a place only that particular person can get to. I didn't notice at first since they're in plastic wrap but as I was getting ready for work days later, I took it out and well ... you can see for yourself from the photos below. This place outsources its dry cleaning I think, so they may want to look at the quality of their vendor. I will not be going back after our shirts came back in this condition. There's pit staining in the area that seems to be exaggerated from something as we wouldn't have walked around with them in that condition/ we wear undershirts. There's also more mystery stains. The black marks on the collar are from the seatbelt which we had pointed out prior to the service. These shirts cost $70+ and are pretty much ruined unless I can find someone to reverse the damage.

I was looking to get a pair of dress pants cleaned right away and looked up other places that did…read morethe cleaning in house. (My usual choice sends it out.) This spot came up with good reviews and I decided to give them a try. They're in a small plaza with a restaurant and some other businesses. There isn't a lot of parking, but I suggest going during a non-peak meal time to find a spot. I've been fortunate to find parking both times I've gone. The owner was present when I arrived with my pants. He confirmed he could do a delicate cleaning on these and would not press a crease into the pants. (His rule of thumb is to not put a crease in unless the customer asks.) He did recommend that I remove the button as he didn't have a spare, which the instructions in the pants suggested anyway. He loaned me a seam ripper from the back so I could remove the button before he took the pants. They do not use harsh chemicals on dry cleaning here - good for those avoiding harsh chemicals and wanting an eco-friendly cleaner. Prices are very reasonable here. My pants were finished on Monday afternoon with no rush charge. (I dropped them off on Saturday.) The pants looked crisp but not crunchy - ready to wear after being picked up.

Lapels is professional, charges market rates, is convenient to Sun City and Indian Land and really does a great job cleaning and pressing your clothing. I am a unit commissioner with Scouts, USA so when I dropped off my uniform for cleaning, the kind lady offered me a 15% discount. Can't beat that. And when I picked up the clean uniform it was perfect. They send cleaning to their main plant in Tega Cay so there is about a two day turn-around. Very nice people and a good cleaner to try.

And they are very expensive. Shirts are $2.25 plus tax. To me that is way out-of-bounds and good luck with them continuing to get business at that level. competitors do at least as good with the laundry and dry cleaning and are less cost. Staffed by Korean workers, there is a language problem if you wander away from basic laundry terms. I will not return, taking my shirts up the road to a competitor.
