We stayed at a LUXbnb apartment near American University. We had booked for just over two weeks but left after a few days. How they can claim this place as luxury is beyond comprehension. The apartment was in a basement next to the garage which smelled strongly of mildew. The rooms were dark even with the lights on. The bed which was advertised as queen was so small ( I think it was a full) and the mattress was terrible, so soft. When I removed the sheets I saw that it was an air mattress! There was no extractor fan in the bathroom and there was a large damp patch on the ceiling next to the shower. Maybe I'm nit picking but the toilet paper was so thin you could use it as tracing paper, I had to buy my own supply. The only good thing about the place was the washer/ dryer. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

This bnb management company accepted my payment of a rental service. About one month later AFTER I check in they tried to get me to pay an extra $700 because THEY made a mistake with their pricing. I suspect the issue may have been that the management company of the property Ampeer forced them to charge a minimum rate. Not sure how that was my problem. Ended up having to scramble for another plave to stay at the last minute. read more

2109 N St. NW Townhouse LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION with comfortable, upscale furnishings and a dose of history thrown in. We were in town for our sons wedding at the Navy Yard, while this house is on the other side of town Uber made it a snap to get there. We wanted a place where the whole family, multigenerational could stay. This was it and it was fabulous. It had the "quiet. Neighborhood" appeal for the older family members, while great nightlife was just outside the door for the younger ones. We hosted/catered the rehearsal dinner on the roof top deck( so many food options in center of Dupont Circle). The house even had champagne flutes. All agreed it was the perfect way to go. I booked a rental through this company for May 2022 in July 2021, paying over $2700 in deposits and fees. One week later, they emailed to cancel the reservation on the grounds that they had rented it in error. They offered two other properties, neither of which had a sufficient number of beds for my family and both of which were significantly more expensive. This cancellation led to serious challenges in finding alternate arrangements. It is now over 6 weeks later and they have STILL not refunded my deposit, despite repeated emails and attempts to contact. There has been no explanation of why they did not automatically refund my charges when they unilaterally canceled the reservation. I have spent hours on the phone with VRBO seeking a refund as we booked through their platform. That has also been unsuccessful. DO NOT rent from this company unless you are looking for a miserable and frustrating experience. They appear to be utterly lacking in ethics. I wish I had looked at priscilla m.'s review before booking as it appears she had a similar experience. read more

I rented the apartment from you from September 27 to October 4. I have rented apartments for vacation stays in many cities over the past 15 years. This is without question one of the best if not the best in which I have ever stayed. It was very clean and very well equipped. The apartment did not have the feeling that it was a rental. I had the sense that it was a home. This was a function not only of the space but also of the decor and the furnishings. As a result, I did not hurry out every morning for our sightseeing in the city but tended to linger till midday. I twice had our grandson over for dinner and he was equally impressed. I was certainly very happy there. Also, LUXbnb were extremely responsive to our calls regarding a malfunctioning lamp. All in all, it was an excellent experience. I shall certainly recommend it to any of our friends who are visiting Washington. I was told by the associate to whom I spoke after my stay that they were considering opening offices in other cities. I certainly hope that they do so since I would certainly use their offices for any future rentals which I may make. read more

The LUXbnb home we stayed in was awesome!!! Where do I begin? It's situated in the handy and historical Bloomingdale district; this home is great for so many reasons. There are breakfast, dinner, take out places that are literally 30 seconds to several minutes walk from the front door. The list of possibilities only grows as you venture into the 5-10 minute walk. Public transportation is also readily available, from the bus, 2 houses away to the Metro, which is about 5-7 minutes' walk away you can get anywhere in the city. The White House/ National Mall and Union Market were favorite destinations during our visit both only a few stops by Metro. As for the house itself, as with all the LUXbnb properties we have seen, the quality was superb and accurately portrayed. The Bloomingdale house was perfect for a gathering of family or professionals in DC for work. It has the best cooking/visiting/hang out kitchen. The outside patio space off the kitchen is private and roomy and wonderful for Fall and Spring longing and dining, (we were there in the Fall). The dining room/living room with the bay window is classy and warm (love that magnificent fireplace). The 3 bedrooms on the upper floors offer not only their own bathrooms, but are all spaced that those who choose to sleep and those who do not, are not bothered by others. The bonus/gathering room on the top floor offers great views and sunsets of the skyline in different directions of this great Bloomingdale neighborhood. LUXbnb was so helpful in managing our stay, Charlotte sent us a very useful Guest Guide before we arrived that we could peruse on the flight, Anna-Regina checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed the day after our arrival. They were available if we had questions, but left us to enjoy our friends and family. Highly recommend LUXbnb for their service and homes like the Bloomingdale house on First Street. read more

I has an extremely concerning experience with this business. I had booked a 2 week stay in a house managed by LuxBNB in November, 2020. The property was listed on VRBO, as well as on several other vacation rental sites and on Lux BNB's own site. I paid a total of approximately $2800 to secure reservation. Two months later I attempted to contact the business to inquire about extending our stay by two days. The manager of the business then proceeded to inform me that the property was a monthly rental only and that the weeks that I had booked and had received confirmed for had been pro-rated. She also informed me that since it was graduation season, the rate that I had rented it for was too low. . I asked her then why was it listed as a nightly rental at that rate and why was my reservation and my deposit accepted over two months ago? LUX BNB solely determined the rental terms, rates and availability when they posted the listing. She could not come up with an explanation. I then told her that if that was the case, I would be willing to take the rental for the entire month. She tried to come up with another excuse, finally admitting that she was essentially holding out for a renter who would hopefully rent the house for several months. I was utterly appalled. I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior nor poor business ethics in dealing with vacation property rentals. Ever. I have rented properties globally over the past 37 years and this person's business conduct left me at a loss for words. If there was a problem with the rental listing, why on earth didn't she contact me immediately so I could proceed to find another property? Furthermore, she held my deposit for over 2 months for a rental agreement she had no intention of honoring. Had I not happened to call, I would have continued with the understanding that I had secured a two week rental in Washington DC up until my arrival date. I would not recommend doing business with or renting anything from LUXBNB under any circumstances. They are unreliable, unprofessional, engage in poor business behavior and ethics. As an aside, the rental is still available on several rental sites as a nightly rental, only she has jacked up the rent significantly. read more

They canceled my reservation because of a pricing error on their part and then failed to refund my money within the 3-5 business day timeline that they set for themselves. I find it dishonest that a business would cancel a reservation due to its own error without first refunding the customer's money. read more

The worst agency or management to do a rental.. We made a reservation to Washington DC and after charging the card and sending confirmation they cancel the reservation just few hours before our arrival, we tried to call the contact agent but our calls were not answered neither our messages. I had friends visit from out of the country who wanted to explore DC a bit. Through recommendation we rented a LUXbnb home in Georgetown and we absolutely loved it! The neighborhood was great and the house was beautiful. It was very clean and comfortable and the price was a good deal. The managers were very communicative and provided us with a lot of information about the neighborhood and fun things to do. We will definitely stay with LUXbnb again next time! I am highly satisfied. Very unprofessional. We booked a reservation through this company and paid entire balance. Owner informed them they advertised the incorrect price and cancelled out reservation. After communicating several times before booking, the cancellation was sent from a personal email address which went to spam. When we discovered the error more than a week later we were informed our reservation was cancelled and they resented the home. All because of misrepresentation of LUXBNB. You would think after sending a cancellation you'd expect the client to contact you and when you don't hear from them you'd reach out to be sure the message was received and offer to help. Not with this unprofessional company! Nothing. When we asked about returning our money we were were lied to twice while on the phone with the owner. Finally she credited our card. Very disappointing behavior and a sure lack of respect for their clients. read more
