I have been getting my nails done here since they were in the JC mall, so long time customer! However, when I got my nails done today, I witnessed something so gross and when I made a comment about it all I got was a smile and oh sorry! Beware of dip color #232. The gentleman that did my nails today, I have never had before, and he was very rushed! When he asked me to move to his table, he never replaced the towel from the previous lady having her nails done, so it had her fingernail clippings and color on the towel. As he rushes through and gets to the end, he knocks over color #232 powder spilling it on the table and towel. Instead of calling it a loss, he picks up the towel and shakes the powder color, nail clippings and shavings on the table then proceeds to use his brush and sweep it back into bottle so whoever goes next will have fingernails mixed in with their powder. read more

Give this place a try! I am in the area for work and needed a pedicure. This was the closest salon and even though there wasn't great recent reviews, I decided to try it out. Y'all, ignore the bad reviews! I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in. My wait wasn't long at all (no appointment). My tech got all of my ingrown nails taken care of, gave me probably the best leg massage I've had, and spoke great English, making communication easy. So I popped in this shop to get my nails redone. I asked for dip. The lady opened a brand new container and immediately started dipping my nails, no base dip or anything. When I asked her about not using the base coat, she proceeds to tell me every place is different. So two days later my nails started chipping, which I've never experienced before with dip. It was clear she didn't know what she was doing and $45 dollars later I'll have to get my nails done again. Would not recommend this place. read more

I had a set of acrylic nails put on. The guy doing my nails was hateful and rude. He seemed very rushed even though there were no other customers. After getting home, I saw how crooked and too wide my nails were. Called the next morning to have them fix my nails (make them in line with the nail bed). The guy again was rude and told me he had to look at them before he would agree to fix them. After getting there, he filed them down on the sides, leaving the white acrylic exposed and said he would not repaint them. My nails look awful! I will never go back there!!! read more

Today at 3:00 me and my friend went in, we had called ahead for two people. We walked in and the man said "list". Not can you write what you want, or hello how are you, like a normal greeting. We sat down and looked at nail colors, and my friend went first. The man, pulled and tugged at her hand and when he did speak which wasn't often it was disrespectful. At one point he made a comment about how she was holding her hand and said it was common sense to hold it that way. Rude. A lady was in front of me and they told me I'd have to wait, which was NOT A PROBLEM. But after how he was and how rushed he was we decided to go somewhere else to do mine. On our way to Anns Nails, I called Lux back and asked to speak with the manager. The same man was on the phone and was even rudder. He was yelling at me, and trying to say I was upset that I was going to have to wait. I calmly told him that wasn't the issue and that it was how he spoke to my friend, and how his customer service was bad. He kept yelling and proceeded to call me a princess. I will never go back. Ever. The atmosphere was very unwelcoming . Also my friends nails ended up looking like crap. read more

I went to this shop for the first time on Sunday. They charged me $50 for a full set that was crooked. This morning I woke up and multiple of my nail had bubbles under the gel polish. I called back and asked for them to be redone by someone new and they agreed. When I went back they put me back with the same guy and they were extremely rude. I left and called back because I didn't want to be rude in front of their other customers and they screamed that they are perfect nails and hung up on me twice. I will never go back. The lady that did my pedi was extremely nice and did a good job but the nail tech and manager are extremely rude and unprofessional. This is the worst nails and service I've ever had. read more

The gel manicure was sloppy, and the pedicure even sloppier. I could have honestly done a better paint job myself, so spending $70 is just disappointing and annoying. The nail tech who did my manicure was nice and friendly, but the lady who did my pedicure was completely rude and had a horrible attitude, making me feel like I was a complete bother to her. She commented on my calluses, recommending to me (in a rude way) that I should upgrade to the deluxe. I did, but don't feel like any of the extra treatments made any difference, plus everything was so hurried. The massage part was less than 30 seconds, and the paint job on my toes could not be sloppier, as the paint is all over my skin around my toes. First of all, I want to say that my nail tech, Diem, was phenomenal. So friendly and we carried on a great conversation. My nails were beautiful. My issue came when I was at the very end of my manicure while my polish was drying. I was sitting underneath the UV light for maybe two minutes waiting on my polish to dry. The man at the front desk, who's name I sadly did not catch, looked at me and said, "You've been sitting here forever. Your nails are dry. You can go." Outraged, I left. I'm not the confrontational type, but I'm not going to be disrespected like that. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I have been a customer here greater than 5 years. I come every 2 weeks and have my nails done. I had an appt. a few weeks ago, like always and they were GONE. A note was on the door of their move up the street and they weren't there either. Terrible....... Don't waste your valuable time or hard earned cash. They don't care and will leave you sitting in the chair.

They do a great job, the location is convenient, and the place is very clean. I always end up spending 1-2 hours here, mostly due to the wait. They need more staff for sure. read more

This place absolutely sucks ass. Took my girlfriend and the guy that did her nails was a complete jerk and extremely aggressive then acted like he didn't want to fix where he messed up plus told her that her last nail polish was gel and charged for the removal and it was not. I'll never visit this place again!!! Literally needs to be shut down. read more

The pedicures have been nice. I've had the same tech for the pedis I have gotten and they have been amazing; much better than comparable places. I have been disappointed with my usual two places the past few times I've gone (the strip mall type places). My manicure was less than to be desired. My tech was disengaged (not that I need conversation or someone to suck up to me, I'm fine with minimal interaction, however this person was rude) and seemed agitated with my request and put out with what I was asking to have done. My polish request is not out of the ordinary considering it's been done for years at other similar salons, so to have the attitude really was a disappointment. If the shellac doesn't last as long as it should I will update this review to reflect that, but if it lasts (as it should) I'll keep it at a 4 star. I dock a star because the customer service of the manicure tech left a lot to be desired and to feel like someone is outwardly hostile to your presence doesn't sit well with me. The other people working in the salon seem nice and professional so this particular tech may just be the balance person (every place needs a negative person, right?) or having a bad day. If I get a manicure here again it will NOT be with this tech. Overall the place seems clean, it isn't too crowded, and they seem to offer a better pedicure than comparable places. The attitude of the one tech is similar to a couple of other salon techs I have encountered and I just don't choose to pay money to individuals who have bad attitudes. I'm paying for an experience and to feel like I'm doing something for myself, so part of that is to feel good/positive and not irritated. Perhaps these techs/employees are burned out and can get away the attitude in busy salons because of the volume. Whatever it is just know that unfortunately Lux has one currently on staff that you may have the misfortune of encountering. Otherwise, this salon is a refreshing change from the manic feel of most of these type of nails salons. Update: the shellac lasted about 1 month and didn't peel off so I appreciate this, so the quality of work is good and lasts, at least it does for me. My pedicure is at least 6 weeks old and the Polish still looks good. read more

Awful service! I made an appointment for my 2 daughter's and myself for manicures and pedicures. They were so busy we had to wait 30 minutes. They rushed through our mani/pedi's and only put 1 coat of nail polish on my daughter. I complained and they rolled their eyes and stated speaking Vietnamese and laughing.
