Lux Nails is my go-to place! The customer service and attention to detail is outstanding. I had a mani/pedi and it was great! But after a few days, I just didn't like the color. I went back and they re-did the color for me. The nail tech really listened to what I didn't like and helped find me something different. I would recommend finding a different nail salon as all costs. I went in on the 15th and had a set of dip done on my natural nails. I asked for a pink and orange French tip and I had a pic for inspiration. The lady that did them got them done and it was $75. (More than I've EVER paid for a set anywhere else but whatever, that's fine). I paid it and went about my life. Fast forward to Friday, and I called because several of my nails had the polish coming off in huge flakes and the dip was already lifting. I usually get 3-4 weeks from a set, definitely not 3-4 DAYS. They said they were super busy so they said to come in Saturday morning. I did that. I asked the girl working the counter what it would cost to have them fixed and she said since it was longer than 3 days, she would ask the owner. But then she never came back. Anyway, the woman that initially did my nails comes out and starts to fix them. She assured me she would cover the cost of fixing them. After some back and forth, she decided to take the whole set off and redo them. However, during the process of the removal, she burned my nail beds several times with the electric file and each time she would just giggle and say, "sorry, you wanted new ones!". Finally she got done and I was able to leave with an okay-at-best looking set. But here it is, four days later, and my nails are chipping and lifting again. I absolutely won't be going back. This has by far been the worst nail salon experience I've ever had. read more

Good color selection and nice people working there. Unfortunately, employe do not know how to shape toe nails. I end up leaving with painted nails but random shape of toe nails. Also employees do not know that when doing deep you need to go over with drill and remove excessive material. So I end up leaving with bumpy and thick nails. Paid $120 in total for both mani and pedi. I would not recommend this place to anyone due to staff do not know how to do their job, but they are very sweet people. I give two starts for the atmosphere and sweet people that work there. read more

It's been a while since I've visited Lux. Usually I leave with sore nail beds, glue and acrylic all over my fingers, and a set I'm not 100% in love with. Which honestly is my experience at most nail salons. But today stopped in as a walk-in, And Tai was available for my fullset w/gel polish and he did a fantastic job! Was very gentle, didn't over file my nails or cause me any pain or discomfort, paid great attention to detail, meticulously filled my nails to the perfect square tip, and took his time properly polishing my nails. This was my first time here and I asked for a manicure with gel polish on my natural nails. I did not receive a traditional manicure at all. I told him I wanted French tips with sparkly gel (shellac) polish on my natural nail. Next thing I know, he's applying acrylic onto my nails and then does the gel polish. I'm not one for confrontation so I just let him keep on while being optimistic. I get up to the register and they charged me $63! I couldn't believe it and asked her 3 times to repeat herself because I was in shock. I am incredibly disappointed with how much they charged me for the service I received. I have been to nicer places with a lot better service and results for a lot less. I know people who get long acrylic nails with designs for a lot less. I will not be returning to this nail salon. read more

I will NEVER go to a shop without checking pricing in advance. This place is extremely higher compared to several others I have been to in the past and also higher than several other shops I just researched for further reference. For example, the cheapest pedi with callous treatment (who wants one without it? I can paint my own toes...) is $55.00! My last shop was $32 in Round Rock, where I would expect to pay more than in Waco. I got a pedi, full set and gel on both. I normally tip higher, but because of prices, I only did 15%. It was $179.00 vs my former shop in Rock Rock at $105. I guess if you like being bent over, this is your to go nail place. Personally, I'll pass, and won't go back. read more

Third visit after receiving excellent service previously. I was the only customer in the shop at the time I was seated at a booth. The tech quizzed me about the services I'd requested and promptly got up to take issue with the manager about the mani and pedi being split between herself and another tech. While the manager attempted to be reasonable, the tech became loud, argumentative, and quite strident. The atmosphere turned very unpleasant. Back in Dec 2020 someone recommended their nail tech at Lux Nails. I was searching for someone who applied HARD GELS. Nina said she does. She began with a light coat of acrylic (immediately I knew she did not know what she was doing). Then 2 coats of SOFT GEL. In a week, the top was peeling!! Though this tech was nice, she was wrong. She did not know what HARD GELS are. Apparently there is no one in Waco that applies them. I went back to my previous nail tech/owner and got dips, of which I was doing before visiting Oregon to see fam/friends. My granddaughter had applied HARD GEL which is the gel in a small container and painted it on. I loved it as it lasted forever!! So, I am bummed thus far to not find anyone who applies HARD GELS. But the dips are beautiful and more healthy than acrylic!!! read more

Let me start off with I wish I found this salon sooner! After going to multiple nail shops and never getting what I want that completely changed when I visited Lux Nails. Philip is the owner and you can tell he truly cares about his customers and their satisfaction. He is quick but does not cut corners, he remembers you even if you've only been there one time. The first time I came , my nails were great - I got the more expensive pedi and paid a little over $100. The second time I came , I wanted the basic set and paid $45. The second time I was taken care of by an elder lady who clearly didn't know what she was doing. I tried explaining to her what I wanted and realized she didn't speak English so I just punted to the color I wanted. She was very sweet and lovely, but my nails were so crooked and horribly painted and cut down so short it hurt. I might go back later , but I'm not sure after the second service. i hate trying new nail places but recently moved to waco and decided to give this one a chance. i told the guy i didn't want the curved tips and that i like the straight ones better, he ignored me and continued to put the curved ones on the rest of my fingers. i let it go and he started applying acrylic. i asked for just plain white because i figured it would be hard to mess up. it seemed like he didn't use the white power very often, he had a pretty rough time applying, it kept dripping under the tips and flooded my cuticles. after that mess he moved on to filing, one side of my nails was fine but the other side on every single nail was not, he filed too far. also was pretty aggressive with the filing i normally get pretty long nails and he didn't hold my nail while he did it he just went ham. he only did one coat of gel top coat and didn't use any lotion or cuticle oil when he was finished. my boyfriend got a manicure and he had no complaints tho, so if you want just a manicure this might be your place but it's not mine. read more
