I posted about this on my instagram publicly to warn people and dozens of women responded saying they had the same experience, and that the old woman that runs the place is extremely judgemental, old fashioned, and insists she knows your body better than you and that you won't fit the things you want unless you were smaller. Will not ever be returning, and will always warn women against this place.

Im all for charging what things actually cost, but the last few times ive been in ive been in awe of the insanity of the pricing of things that objectively do not cost that much. I would say, for me, Lost Girls' style has SOME overlap with what I like to wear, so there were a few items that caught my eye and will have me coming back a few times a year. PLUS: size diversity, clean store, roomy changing rooms, well organized MINUS(?): I noticed a significant portion of the clothing was polyester or acrylic. I'm personally trying to avoid synthetic fibers and it felt like Lost Girls had more synthetic fibers than other vintage shops. Additionally, a lot of clothing items were missing their care instructions and/or the tags with fabric breakdown. Now, in the world of secondhand/vintage clothing, you'll come across this. At some point in some time, a previous owner removed them. However, just like with the synthetics, it FELT like there were more items missing this than I typically see in a shop. All in all, shopping here is an undeniably lovely experience. I recommend you stopping by, seeing if this is your style and trying on some things!

Pricing is based entirely on weight--$10 per pound--regardless of item. I recently went to visit them after they received their most recent shipment. The store is decently spacious and there were several changing rooms and mirrors around the shop. I went through pretty much every rack, and I was pleasantly surprised how many nice pieces of natural fibers there were, the nice mix of Japanese, Chinese, Korean and even American brands. It felt like a breath of fresh air for anyone who is used to the usual rotation of brands available in thrift stores like Goodwill. If you need some help identifying natural/synthetic fibers, here's a handy list of words to try and remember: Synthetic fibers: ポリエステル (polyester) レーヨン (rayon) アクリル (acrylic) ナイロン (nylon) ポリプロピレン (polypropylene) スパンデックス (spandex) ポリエチレン (polyethylene) Natural fibers: 綿 (cotton) 絹 / シルク (silk) 革 (leather; may follow 羊 (sheep) for example) カシミア (cashmere) 麻 (hemp; quite rare, I saw exactly 1 piece made of hemp) リネン (linen) Due to the way the products are packaged and shipped to the US, anything you buy will likely need a good iron/steam. I managed to buy a gorgeous black coat for winter that looked amazing on me for only 8 dollars!! Are your kidding me? They have a great deal on clothes and at the time the winter jackets were 70% off so I was very satisfied with my purchase! The kind lady who rang my friend and I up was so attentive and cheerful. I love that she allowed us to spend a long time browsing and trying things on. I also love that they use reusable bags to wrap up our purchases. Great shop and will be coming back!
