Husband found this on Instagram and we came here on a Sunday afternoon 2pm. Perfect timing before an early dinner rush! Service is fast and the staff are very nice. Tried the kimchi fried rice and it's the best to date that we have had. Whole fried chicken was seasoned soo good and only $30! Cheesy corn was sweet and tasty. This was cabbage with a side of rice cakes. Everything here is egregiously expensive, yet the food, since I've been here years ago, smacks. With the prices staring at you, and the measly toppings of two sausages per $30 tteokbokki, and a measly amount of rice cakes in our bowl, it was sadly not enjoyable. Our order was not proportioned well, and it took nearly 30 minutes for it to come out, emphasized by all the tables around us getting theirs first despite getting seated after. No big though, because it was busy and a server noticed, then rushed over to let us know it was coming out soon. It's declined a lot from the past, but the flavor of the sauce is still really really good. Corn cheese is standard. Music is REALLY interesting though, so the ambiance is nice. Varied from tasteful house hits to America's saddest songs, to K-pop. The food tastes good, but I am sad to say that my era of luvving is over. read more

I was in the Cerritos area and wanted to take the kids to an asian place for lunch. I stumbled upon this Luv Dduk shop in Yelp and I saw nothing but good reviews. Parking is easy and the restaurant was crowded when we went. We were seated soon. The first surprise was that most of the items come in huge portion only and even if you want to get a smaller portion of it to try, you dont have a choice. Basically the food items are to be shared family style. We ordered the spicy chicken with cheese and the ddukbokki without the sausage and an egg fried rice. Without the sausage the ddukbokki chicken was pretty same as the spicy chicken with cheese except that one had chicken and the other didnt. I am new to this place and I am not very familiar with this food, I would have appreciated if the server told us that it is going to be pretty much the same. So I ended up having two huge size entrees pretty much having the same ingredients. The taste was good but I expected more flavor and less sweet. Even the spicy chicken was sweet (as well as spicy). It is definitely way too expensive, even after I said no sausage and no meat in the fried rice, I was charged the same as the original price. Even with those things not removed, I felt the price was super expensive. What if I come by myself and not with a group, should I still have to end up getting the portion size which serves 2-4 people? read more

I love this place because they have the most variety of Korean snack bar as well as bar food. Be careful ordering too much because the portion are huge. I love seafood pancake here too it's crispy and good side dish. I have actually tried fish cake soup in previous visit - it's hearty and warm for cold weather. Jiang duk is for if you don't eat spicy because the spicy one I tried last time was SPICY SPICY. The army soup is decent compare to the ones you get from soju bars. They open super late so if you want to hangout with friends and eat Korean food, this is the place. Parking: plenty in a plaza. Ambiance: same as soju bar but a little quieter, they have playlist so it get party vibes. Service: is always quick and every utensil and plates are disposable. I was craving YupDuk in LA and opted to try this place out with my family. Overall I thought the dukbokgi was ok & the 3 stars come from that. We got there combo witb dukbokgi, rice balls, fried samplers, soondae & added on cheese. We also order their odeng skewers soup. Overall food was ok and portions huge. I just didn't like the flavor of the dukbokgi & thought it was ok. We got the med spicy and we felt it wasn't spicy at all plus the flavor was just overpowering with black pepper more than anything. My girl friend and I wanted to meet between our cities and settled on Cerritos where she recommended Luv Dduk. Plaza is somewhat packed but there's still plenty of parking. Great hype music playing in the background that makes people want to drink lol. We shared the luv dukk, bulgogi garlic noodles, and flavored soju (buy 1 get 1 free). The luv dukk is definitely for sharing - It had so many ingredients on its own that we opted out of any additional toppings. I don't normally eat spicy... but it's actually quite good (even though I was dying). Bulgogi garlic noodles was the highlight for me - Just an entire bowl of garlicky goodness that I finished without an issue. The service is okay and the wait was really short for a Saturday night (which is a plus). We were seated right away and had our temperature checked and hand sanitizer offered. The table is set up where you don't really have to ask your server for anything extra which is also nice. If my review was solely based on the food, I'd give it a 5/5. My friends and I ordered so much food and after a long day at Disney, we demolished it. However, the reason why I didn't give the full stars was because of the service. The server working was having such a bad attitude that night and made our table feel insecure for ordering "too much" food. We didn't really appreciate the unwelcoming environment. I'm assuming it's because it was only her, one person, working the entire restaurant and I think that in order to provide better service, management should schedule more people... I've come here multiple times and it never disappoints! The ambience of the places varies depending on what time of the day you decide to come, but other than that, it's always good service and good vibes. They also play kpop all the time so that's fun. Make sure to check in on yelp ahead of time, because they could get long wait times in the evening. The dish we always get would be their tteokbokki, and others that we've tried over time are the cheese corn, fried chicken, soy garlic chicken, bulgogi garlic noodles, and the rice balls. The garlic noodles could be really oily if you're looking out for that, but I didn't mind. If you can't handle spice, make sure to get the tteokbokki mild! Even when it's mild it's a bit spicy, but manageable. I'd suggest getting the pineapple juice for a sweet and refreshing drink on the side. Overall, everything has been incredible! We ordered Set C, spice level 1(which was already pretty spicy and we are people who can actually eat spicy food !) and the tteokbokki tasted very different than any other tteokbokki we have tried. Would have given it 3 stars, however their soondae was so good that we had to give them an extra star! Their fried set was also pretty good! The amount is good for 4 people ( or 3 very hungry people). It was also very nice for the waitress to remind us about the spice level ! I think this place used to be Yup dduk, but they changed their name to luv dduk if i'm not wrong. Their signature Luv Dduk Ttaebokki is so big and imo can serve 3-4 people! Never again Instagram! Vibe reminds me of being at a strip club in Tijuana in 2002. It's 3:30a and the club wants me to leave. Bright fluorescent lights and LED string lights glare down on you/your food and there is anxiety-inducing house music thumping throughout your entire meal. They took our temperature and gave us hand sanitizer. We sat down inside and only two other tables were occupied. They quickly took our order and we waited a few minutes for our order. Food was fresh and tasty. Large portions and we knew right away we would need to go boxes. I had Bulgoni garlic noodles. Not as much meat as I would have expected, but I still had food left over and was full. My wife had Luvdduck plus boiled egg and everything else. Her portion was huge and then even more sides. She ordered mild and felt it was spicy. Overall experience was this is a great place to get a good variety of foods and have plenty to eat- so plan on coming with a big appetite. We will be back.
