I used to love Lush products, but recently had a pretty bad incident of finding GLASS in my soap! I have so many of Lush's products at home and never imagined this would be the case, but I was washing my hand and actually got cut from a piece of glass that was in the soap. I had to dig into the soap to pull it out. I reached out to their customer service and they seemed pretty nonchalant, offered me a store credit for the soap which I found pretty laughable considering that it...you know...cut my hand... so they upped their offer to another $14 (which I did not take). This experience has certainly painted a different picture of Lush for me and I did not want to be shopping there anymore since I did not feel like they were taking a major quality issue seriously. Aside from being cut by their soap, I later realized that another piece of glass scratched my shower floor :( I'm honestly relieved that it fell on the shower floor instead of cutting me while I showered. Ultimately, after finding glass in my soap, I do not feel that that they are taking the quality of their products seriously. They did not seem shocked or concerned by the fact that there was glass in the soap, and only after I pointed out how serious the situation is they said that they will inform their team. All in all, I found the experience and response very disappointing. Personally I am going to find another company to shop from and I recommend to others to do the same. read more

I just wrote a really long review and it did not post : ( Essentially this store and this company are amazing in every single way - amazing customer service, you can ask for samples and you can return anything, no questions asked. They go above and beyond not only to run their business ethically (no animal testing) but also to source ingredients and packaging ethically (their ethical sourcing and buying practices has made a big different in many communities around the world). Some people don't realize how much serious quality stuff is on offer at this store because they think of it as a place to get fluffy candy bath bombs - well they DO have fluffy candy bath bombs and the fragrance in the store is lovely (but I know some people have told me they find it overwhelming), but remember that it's because they try to be "packaging free" in as many cases as possible. Their products are filled with lovely quality ingredients and their beauty products are really top quality products. I have tried much more expensive but LUSH beat them all in my little unscientific tests. I'm obsessed with this store and this company and for good reason I think - there is something for everyone and the sales girls/boys are really really lovely. I've used LUSH products for years now. I love a lot of their products and their using fresh ingredients and not testing on animals. I like how you can get a smaller piece cut of a product if you want to test out something. While this store is particularly small and can be annoying to walk around in (I don't have claustrophobia but I could get it in here!) but they are moving to a bigger space in the mall. I like that the staff really know their products - if you ask a question or want an opinion they have an answer for you. The products have quality ingredients in them so if you think some items are pricey just read the list and you will see why and what you are paying for. The one thing I don't like in general is some of their packaging - not travel friendly at all or sometimes like the moisturizers not hygienic (big pits you dip your hands in) I could definitely spend my lunch hour in here! read more

Like all Lush stores, you can smell them before you see them....which in the case of this one is alright because it sort of wafts into the nearby Subway (thus causing a vast improvement). But man! I don't think I could work in one of those stores! The scent(s)! By now most people are familiar with Lush's stuff it's kinda passe, and to be honest I don't buy much of their stuff anymore because it's very perfumey and expensive. So why the four stars? Because once in the bluest of moons I like to go out and really hit the town in the winter and when I do I LOVE to scrub myself all over with one of Lush's "Buffy" body butter bars. I'm a huge fan of Lush for body wash, lotion and hair products. My boyfriend and I happened to be downtown and decided to pass through to see what's new and I wanted to look into grabbing shampoo bars to try out. I have really long, fine hair and it gets oily fast, so I want to find a suitable shampoo that will keep it light and oil-free but I wanted something with less chemicals. Best place to go would be Lush for an all natural product. The staff here were all extremely friendly and helpful. Seems like while they're all extremely knowledgeable, they would pass your questions to the more expert staff on the floor so you know you're getting the best information. I had a lot of questions that pretty much were all answered. I picked up two shampoo bars based on their recommendations of my hair type and I like that there's a refund/ exchange policy in place incase you don't love what you picked up. They also gave me a few samples -- one being a conditioner that I think I'll definitely want to pick up next time I'm at Lush. I actually just wanted a sample of a face mask that I've heard mixed reviews about. And I don't have very good experience using the masks here. The staff listened to my concerns and ended up giving me something different to try. I did not end up liking that product. It made me very itchy and red, so I will probably end up going back to grab a sample of the original mask I researched. But it's nice to see that they are trying to give you what they believe is best for your skin. I would say though that if you're like me and you research a whole ton before shopping, you maybe know what's best for your skin then despite how educated these people are. I kinda feel bad for them though because it sounds like they do a whole ton of trainings to learn all the information they need to know. =/ I hope Lush takes care of its employees1 read more

I've been a lush lover since they opened their first store in Brazil. I'm CRAZY about bath, and Lush can turn your bath into SOMETHING. Then, they ceased their Brazilian operations. I was orphaned, and thought I was never going to have a bath bomb again. Until I walked out the Dundas subway and smelled, well, that distinguishable Lush smell. I was in Paradise and spent lots of dollars in bath treats. I'd like to say I have acne and doctors have been prescribing me things to control acne, but there's an amazing charcoal bar at lush that lasts forever and is much cheaper than acne prescription drugs that works like a charm for my skin. I have to wash my face and shoulders with this black thing everyday, but I look like an adult again! I'm interested in trying more of their beauty products after this great experience! The girls in here are the most friendly and helpful people I've met in a long time. I came here a few days ago with my friend/guide and was determined to find this place again by navigating the underground path via my hotel. It took me an hour and a half to find this place so when I finally got here I was really irritated. But the girls here were super nice and broke through my frustration and I ended up smiling. When I saw the handmade soaps here before I realized they would be the perfect gifts for people back in the states. The soaps were really cool and the service was excellent. This location is a hit or miss for me. I have been using lush for years & should be getting a commission for how many people I have converted into lush addicts like myself. I mostly just pick up the same stuff I have been using for years but now I call ahead to make sure they have my 3 staple products in stock. I would recommend you do the same if you need to pick somethings specific. The staff is either amazing or really annoyingly pushy. I've worked retail for years & can tell when the staff is being forced to act like that. I've used LUSH for the last decade. I could open a store out of my bathroom. However, I tend to avoid this store now as I get REALLY annoyed when the staff kind of just hover over you. Last week, we went to get something last minute for our trip. I have a LUSH reusable tote and I am drinking out of LUSH water bottle. A girl comes up to me and my husband twice in 1 minute to ask how we are. The first time : I exchanged pleasantries and immediately go back into an important conversation with my husband re: our travel arrangements. Less than one minute later, she literally asks us again, "how are you?" I have 3 products in my hands and I'm busy right now - I'm good, kiddo! I decide to engage her - I am being completely sarcastic and I admit, that isn't nice. I know about the products, I am a pro at Lush. She tells me about her favourite product and then asks about mine. I tell her about a long discontinued Retro item and she is stumped by this. *sigh*. I really hate pushy shop-bots. If you are worried I am going to steal, offer a basket. Otherwise, no reason to engage me after I have already given you a polite hello and told you I don't need help. I assume this is the Eaton Centre store- technically the address is Yonge St, not Dundas. The company is great, the products are great- handmade with carefully sourced ingredients. The company likes to try out new things, and for all the hits (they invented the Bath Bomb) there are some occasional misses, but the misses don't stay around too long. The staff are very friendly and their enthusiasm is genuine (I have insider knowledge on this- I worked here for a while, and it was great fun). I've had LUSH products of some kind or another in my bathroom since I first visited the store. They are not inexpensive, but they are usually worth it- especially the skin and hair care. The store itself needs a refit (the new concept stores like the one on Queen St look a bit nicer), and is rather small considering how busy the location is, but it's well worth a visit. read more

I love Lush so when I was in town for the weekend I made sure to scope out a location to visit. This one in the Eaton Centre is probably one of the smaller ones I've been in, but that didn't take away from my experience. The staff is helpful and friendly and I found the items I wanted. It is very true that you can smell the store before you see it. When you walk in the Dundas and Yonge doors to the Eaton's centre, a sweet almost sickly smell hits you and you know you are close to heaven! I have been a lush fan for many many years and have turned more then my fair share of Bath and Body Works Lovers into Lushies..... This location is tucked away in a tiny corner almost under the escalator on the upper lower level of the mall - I think they put it here to over power the smell of piss from the subway entrance....smart if Cadillac Fairview (The mall owners) did....or it's just a happy coincidence. If you follow your nose you will be sure to find it....trust me. The staff are always cheery, and willing to help - I have to say this is the only store that I enjoy the sales staff asking me if they can help. The store is small in comparison to other locations, but it's packed to the brim with product. They have large quantities, but not a wide variety of selection as other larger stores do. The products that they do have tend to be more of their best sellers and tried and tested products. I tend to make a beeline for the Bath Bombs wall, I kind of feel like a kid in a candy store looking at all the brighly coloured balls that will fizz and make me happy. I have to say they are by far my fave product that Lush makes. Yes they are $5-$6 a pop, but it really is worth it - TRUST ME!! I tend to stock pile them...not sure why, I guess it's the way I justify spending $20-$30 on things I don't really need and only last 30-45 mins - depending on my bath length. If you can, order online from their site, as they have all of their products and even their "retro" products that you can no longer get in the stores, or only come out of the "vault" and into stores like Disney movies every so often. Most of the time shipping is included. Oh ya, and regardless of what Lush store you go to - other then the online store - you will leave smelling like it, and it will last days....it makes me happy, and is truly one of the best marketing tools ever! read more

I asked them to call the Queen street store to make sure they had what I wanted. Confirmed, then I head out (they are about 20 minutes apart on foot). I came in looking for a shampoo bar because I've heard great things but of course I don't know a lick about them so I was trying to ask this one girl because she was in the section but I'm super awkward so this consisted of me just looking in her direction about three feet and waiting for eye contact, when she did she just walked away and said there's plenty of other girls to help me and she was busy. I've worked in retail so I can understand this but she wasn't even nice about it!! And she didn't even smile she had a tattoo on the back of her neck, and black hair up in a bun. BUT I would like to give five stars to the girl who helped me afterwards she had black hair as well, bangs, they were styled in space buns and she had glitter everywhere!! Lush is my guilty pleasure. And yes, I have every reason to feel guilty about it. I somehow justify having sparky, fizzy, coloured bath water at $5-$6 a pop. Some products here give you more mileage - such as the soaps and shampoo bars. These work out to be much cheaper per use, but not as fun. The sales associates are helpful but a bit too eager sometimes. I think this is a result of Lush's training and sales tactics. It can be a bit overbearing, and you can tell some of the SAs are uncomfortable with it, too. Its a bit awkward. But I do love how educated and familiar they are with their products. read more

Ordered a $35 shipment that FedEx lost and refused to help me with/refund my money, but after contacting Lush, right away they offered to either re ship my order or give me my money back. I like lush and all but I didn't have a really good experience the other day.. So I walk in and I heard that lush provides free samples on almost anything you would like to try. So I asked if I could try the face mask and a bit of the honey soap. When I ask for the soap she told me I could always buy a block. Telling her I'm trying to save money and I would just a sample , she kept insisting I should get a dollar worth of soap. She said okay and went on cutting it. When she showed me the final block of soap it was ultra small and totaled almost to 3 dollars. Now I'm not mad.. 3 dollars is not THAT much money but I'm upset that she wasn't honest. Sorry lush but I don't think I'll go again. I mean what if I get lied too and having to paid a bigger amount.. :( also the sample of the mask was really small. read more

I broke my newly bought mug in the store, and the two workers made me feel better by encouraging me to take it back to Chapters, and coming up with funny scenarios to get a new one. I am OBSESSED with Lush! I just love their products - they have made my bathroom my sanctuary - I am working such long hours lately and this is pretty much all the indulgence I have time for but it always does the trick. I would say that like everything else some products are hits and some, very rarely are misses but again - the store presents a great opportunity to test and try the products so you can decide what you love and what you don't. The staff are very very friendly and helpful - I find they are lovely. I was at this store recently during the christmas rush when it was very crazy and I had not noticed a SMALL mistake on my bill right away - it was perfectly normal that this would happen given that the store was a total zoo that day. I came back 35 minutes after they were closed when the girls were cleaning up and knocked on the window and the girls let me in right away and were very polite and helpful - they re-imbursed me right away for the single item I had been overcharged. The only tip I would give is that if you find something you love you may want to stock up because this store is smaller than the Queen Street store they sometimes run out of the very popular items by the end of the evening. This isn't really a problem since you can order online if you know what you want but it is good to know if you're looking for some of the limited edition items lush brings out for holidays/mother's day etc. If I know I love it right away - I tend to grab a few! : ) On a side note I did place two web orders over the holidays and they came very very quickly (a couple days) - I always find it hard to wait once I've placed an order so I was thrilled. : ) Beautiful products that smell heavenly - I love this place! read more

This place is amazing - the products are just so fun and so wonderful. They use tons of fresh and natural ingredients... As someone who crafts I have seen how expensive these ingredients are first-hand - essential oils, natural butters, extracts, infusions... Given all the beautiful ingredients the prices are actually very reasonable. I often hear people say that the prices are a tad high but I'm here to tell you that they are not - these are hand-made natural products and LUSH has the most ethical buying and sourcing practices that I have EVER seen. They pay fair-trade prices and even go one step further and change communities they do business with for the better. Just check out the evolution of the community where they source their Shea Butter. They also empower women all over the world. Not only that but their products are very high quality (re-packaged in fancy packaging they could sell for a lot more money) and the staff is amazing. The employees are total sweethearts and they are all amazing and excited to be there. If you feel up to it they will also demonstrate the products for you/on you and can give you an amazing little hand or face treatment. I sometimes hear people say that the store smells strongly of the products but that's because LUSH makes an effort to be environmentally friendly and packaging free so that the displays are open - like a fresh market! : ) Also - the store smells freaking amazing, nom nom nom. I have no idea why a person wouldn't want to spend their life smelling all the beautiful smells. That is one of the things I really love and admire most about this company, every product is designed to provide an enveloping experience that captures multiple senses and a lot of attention is paid to fragrance and beauty. And if something is rose, grapefruit, tonka or neroli scented you know that it will smell like that actually thing - not a chemical poor man's version of that scent. Finally - the employees are super friendly and love to teach you about their products so don't be embarrassed to go in, as questions and even to ask for a sample if there's something you would like to try. You can ask for a sample of anything that does not require the product to be broken so that you can sample it (i.e. no bath bomb samples and no massage bar samples but you CAN and should ask for samples of soap, lotion, conditioner etc). Edit: reading a previous post has made me realize that I should probably say that I only ever asked for a sample when I was making a purchase... Just to be clear, when I say that people should not feel shy to ask for a sample I mean while making a purchase, I am not advocating that people walk in and ask for multiple samples without making a purchase. I think people are happy to make a sample when they feel that the recipient is legitimately looking to try the product before they buy it and they recognize that this is a nice extra thing for a store to do rather than an entitlement. read more

I put my skin and hair through hell since I go swimming twice a week and use hot tools all the time. Lush to the rescue! This location happens to get busy at times and the staff are always ready to help. I find that most Lush stores seem to be congested and tight to get around when the store has like 6-7 people. When I get home, I look forward to my relaxing bubble baths and long showers because I am well equipped with bath bombs/melts, big hair shampoo, forever in bloom conditioner and king of skin body butter. I really like how they use natural and organic ingredients from all over the world. Lately I have been using there sea spray hair mist and I love the texture of my hair after I use it. This store is for men too so don't be afraid. One of my buddies wears hats all the time and struggled with dandruff for awhile and after I introduced seanik and godiva solid shampoo, he was dandruff free and now repurchased extra to throw in his gym bag too!
