Unfortunately I can't speak to the service that I was expecting to get at my appt today, because I…read moredidn't get it! I arrived on time for my appt this morning at 1030am, was asked to sit and wait. At 10:50 I asked the receptionist if there was an ETA and was informed the practitioner was a "no-show" and not responding to text messages. If unprompted by me, I'm not sure how long I'd be waiting until the front desk would have informed me of this? Commuting 35 min from San Francisco in the middle of my workday, paying for metered parking, and ultimately my valuable time for nothing, is disappointing and incredibly unprofessional. If I had to put a value on my time based on my annualized comp, I wasted almost $400 worth of 1.5hrs of my work day slated for this appt that never happened. There was no apology, just a quick rebook and that's it? Do better, Cosmetica.

As soon as you walk in, you'll see an assortment of shelves and glass cases of San Rio products, you won't be disappointed! Takes me back to my younger years or when I was in elementary and all we fussed over were the San Rio characters (grew up in Milpitas, CA). Anyhow, I also recall seeing some facial products from Korea at this store. If you have some free time, it'd be worth checking this spot out, you'd never know what you'll end up finding that you never knew was needed. Plus the ladies working the register are extremely ice and accommodating (they wrap up your purchase on gift paper and bag if f you mention the purchase is a gift).

Hair care and makeup are probably their biggest sellers with rows upon rows of glamour and goop to help make you feel your best. The employees are all hard working and nice. Sometimes they'll have reps giving out free samples, which I love since it's always nice to try before you buy. There's plenty of parking and a user friendly entrance for all the needs.

That is, until the last time I went to her. This was a few days before my brothers wedding, and I wanted to get my light brown hair bleached (just touch-ups as my ends were already vivid) so I could apply some vivid color for for the wedding. After applying the bleach, she directed me to the drying chair for processing, while she did other stuff. I sat under the hood for almost 30 minutes without her even checking on me, or her being within reasonable earshot to even ask her if my hair was light enough. When she returned, she took me over to the wash area and washed my hair out. Then used a regular, plastic comb to comb out where the beach had been (all over my head). I could hear the hair ripping, but at this point it was too late. She finished combing out my hair and then blowdried it trying her best to smooth my hair out, which worked enough that I didn't notice how broken my hair was until I got home. The pieces framing my face along with other piece were so broken, they were 2-3 inches long and pin straight. I was absolutely devastated. I messaged Elsa and told her that she broke my hair. She did not apologize, she did not take accountability for what she had done, all she did was send me a link to a hair mask from Amazon. This is not the first time she has done this type of re-bleach on my hair. She has been bleaching my hair in various ways since I was a teenager. But it was the last. It was so heartbreaking to know that I was going to have to go to my brothers wedding with broken hair. And she didnt even offer an "Im sorry".

I ended up here because I bought a Groupon for an eyelash perm. It was a bit out of the way (I live…read morein Oakland), but a great price so I went for it. I'd expected a more typical salon, but I was delighted to find that the entire first floor is dedicated to imported Asian beauty products. In the couple minutes before my appointment, I was finally able to test the Biore Water Essence 50+ SPF I've been wanting to try for a while (I bought it). Right at my appointment time, I was led upstairs and the attendant made sure I had a second to use the restroom (the perm would take about 40 mins). So I went to the bathroom and changed into my glasses, then went into a semi-private room where the attendant laid me down on a futon-like bed (and even gave me a comforter!) She applied this little plastic contraption to each of my eyes, applied the perm solution, and left me to sit for about 20 mins with some fun and relaxing music in the background. Then she came back, removed the first contraption, applied a little eyelash serum, put another contraption on my eye, then some more perm solution and left me for another 20 minutes. In those 40 minutes, I got two quick naps in and also got some REALLY curled eyelashes. The only thing that could have been cool was if they had a tint to make my eyelashes darker -- kill two birds with one stone, ya know? This seems to be a typical service at other eyelash perm places I've looked at. However, I also know that the way they do your lashes at Dazzling is a little different so it's possible that the mechanism they're using wouldn't support a dye, too. I'll definitely be back (I got the 2-pack Groupon), and next time I'll be staying to try out a couple more products! The only con: a little hard to find. My GPS took me to the wrong shopping center. Wondering if they were potentially at a different location before? But using the actual street address instead of searching for Dazzling in Google Maps fixed that problem and it was only a 2 minute walk away!

The appointment lasted about 25 minutes and included a brief exam and a few photos taken on his phone, but there was little detailed discussion about his facelift approach or what results might be realistic for me. When I asked to see before-and-after photos, I was directed to his Instagram rather than shown examples in the office. He stated that he performed 1-2 facelifts per week, though it wasn't clear whether that was an ongoing average or his current schedule. Hair loss products were also offered, though they weren't the reason for my visit. While the front desk staff was polite and friendly, the consultation overall wasn't detailed enough to justify the above-market cost of $275, especially since that fee can't be applied toward any procedure or service. UPDATE: After this review, the practice kindly reached out and offered more time with the doctor along with additional before-and-after photos. I appreciate their thoughtfulness and the friendly front desk team, but I've decided not to pursue surgery here. My rating reflects my initial consultation experience.
