She's been at Sephora for 15 years and she really knows her sh%t. I came to pick up my birthday gift, (you know as a beauty product junkie that's already a problem), ha! How do you just walk into Sephora and just walk out with your free gift? Well, I also walked out learning all about a brand called Drunk Elephant that I really didn't know much about. It was one of the free birthday products that was offered and I wound up picking it and LOVE it! So many awesome products, you can see the display in my photos. All natural and organic and paraben- free. It leaves my skin so soft. I'll definitely be back to try more products. I also came in for some Fenty foundation. Yvonne recommended that before i purchase a new foundation that I should wait until my skin gets its Summer tan or i would be wasting my money. What a smart idea! Being at Sephora is like being a kid in a candy store for me. Sometimes it gets very overwhelming and sometimes you just need some help. Being new, the store has bright lights and that fresh, new look. The testers were clean and ready to sample. The employees were plentiful and all eager to welcome and help us find the products for our needs. One of the employees mentioned that today was actually their soft opening, with the official grand opening on Friday, July 19th. This meant that not all of the products were available yet, but the employee assured me that everything would be in stock by the grand opening. As I browsed the store and checked out their new store, I inquired, if the Ulta Beauty store at the Freehold Raceway Mall would still exist. They assured me it does. Personally, this location is easier to get to than the one at the mall as it is next to Trader Joe's. I can shop for groceries and my beauty needs in one easy drive. I wish them great success as they are a welcome addition to the community.

I really get the feeling they appeal to the younger aged ladies. The nice thing about Ulta is the more you buy, you obtain points IF you join their free membership. That translates for every dollar you spend, you receive a point. One of my pet peeves with them is I need samples when it comes to foundations. Their lighting isn't the best. Too bright and artificial. To tell me to use their hand mirror and go by their window really doesn't change anything. I usually purchase the foundation only to return it and switch it to another color several times before we all get it right. My skin tone is NC 25. I'm a warm light to medium with slight yellow undertone skin. The one girl keeps telling me to get these foundation colors but they all look too pale and pasty on me. I try to avoid her like the plague. She's nice but I prefer the other lady who's got short hair with tinted glasses. She's spot on but if she doesn't know a certain brand, she refers me to someone else. Now that's honesty. As for the cashiers, I'd really appreciate it if they tell me what my points and rewards are. On occasion, I've purchased things and forgot to ask them to use my reward points for additional dollars off. Then my reward dollars concluded that day and I lost out on it. Grrrrrr. Most of the cashiers are nice. Some have no personality when you ask them to please check if you have any reward points. Not even a smile. I'll definitely come back but I want to add one more thing before I go... This store does not carry Clinique. So far, the only Ulta that carries Clinique is the holmdel location. Too bad, love Clinique!

I felt so embarrassed and attacked, she racially profiled me for no reason. To be treated differently because my skin color is absolutely insane in 2025. This office was no help in getting an approval from our insurance company. The insurance company came back requesting more information and the staff called and said we were denied {which we were not} and ask if we would like to pay out of pocket. Once we sent in the additional documents to the insurance company, she was approved the next day. We went for the first appointment and my wife was excited to share this experience with me to only find out that I was not allowed to be in the room for pictures or the measurements. That should have been the first sign we should have left. The day of the surgery I was in the room with my nervous wife at the hospital and the doctor was ready to do the outline and I was yelled at to leave the room which left my wife even more nervous. She wanted me to hear and see what was going on in case she didn't understand what was said. Surgery came and went and we were at our first post op appointment and again I was told I was not allowed in the back with her. Meanwhile I was the one taking care of her at home. My wife was crying in the office to have me there with her and was told no. I was brought back at the very end and missed most of the care instructions. We were pretty much on our own to look things up because she had her drains removed and was more nervous about that and couldn't really pay that close attention. A week later it was time for her 2nd appointment and again I was told no, but this time my wife said no matter what I was going to be in the room with her. Well the doctor and nurse did not like that. We were in the room for at most 4 minutes and not a word was spoke to me and the doctor was having my wife stand away from me so I could not see what was being done. Her drain holes were not even looked at to see if they healed properly. The following week my wife called to make sure there would be no problems with me being there when her stitches came out. She was told no way and if I had to talk to the doctor I can do it in the hallway and that the office manager would be in the appointment the whole time and hold her hand. My wife expressed that she did not feel comfortable with the doctor and was again told no. We were also told that it is a plastic surgeon policy. Well at this point we called around to other surgeons and explained our situation and was told that they not only encourage someone to be in the room with the patient, they expect it. We went to that appointment and we were in the exam room for roughly 45 minutes longer then all the appointments combined at Dr. Bhattacharya's office. Except what followed was one of the slowest, most passive aggressive performances I have ever seen in a store. He did not just walk slowly. He dragged himself across the store like every step was an act of protest. He went to deal with another customer somewhere else, moving at a speed that said very clearly, "Your time means nothing to me." No apology, no "Give me one moment," nothing. Just vanishing while I am standing there at the register like an idiot holding two candy bars. Then the return trip. Same slow shuffle back. No urgency, no acknowledgment that I had been waiting this whole time. By the time he finally got back, several minutes had passed for something that should have taken less than a minute. I told him, very calmly given the situation, that he should have checked me out first. His response was, "He was ahead of you." That explanation would carry more weight if he had shown any sign of trying to be efficient or considerate. Instead, he decided to prove a point. He started scanning my two candy bars with exaggerated slow movements, like he wanted to annoy me on purpose. This is not just bad service. It is contempt for the customer. If you work a register, your job is simple. Acknowledge the person standing in front of you. Move with some basic level of urgency. Do not act like ringing up two items is an inconvenience to you. And absolutely do not respond to feedback by intentionally slowing down more. I was very impressed, off to a very good start! Then I met my dermatologist Santiago Centurian - she was fantastic!! Made me feel so comfortable and relaxed and explained EVERYTHING about my skin to me! I highly recommend her! I got a complete exam and I was back in the road in under a half hour! LOVED it when the store was a Rite-Aid, everything was pretty much cheap and there were sales. Pharmacy at this location SUCKS. We switched to a private pharmacy after multiple hassles with Rite-Aid/Walgreens pharmacy and couldn't be happier. I submitted an application for the Customer Service Associate position at my local store. Management called back within a day and I specified that I could only work 7-8 hours weekly. Management took this information and they told me that they need candidates to fill basically all positions which I thought was great. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances I had to cancel our interview. I called Management back, telling them that I would be more than happy to meet with them at a later date. Management said that she already cancelled the application and that I'd need to reapply, which I did. I called Management to let them know that I reapplied, and when I asked about meeting at a later date, Management got extremely rude with me and she told me that she'd call back later to confirm the later date. It is now almost 48 hours since our last call and I've moved on to other job opportunities.
