My car has been in this mechanic's possession for over a year and a half, and it is still not fixed. Every time I went up there to check on it, I was met with a new excuse -- never the same story twice. On Halloween, he even called to tell me my car was "ready." Yet when I showed up the next day to pick it up, it somehow still wasn't ready, and suddenly there was "one more thing" he needed to do. This has happened repeatedly. During this long stretch of delays, I also discovered that my perfectly good battery had been swapped out for one that doesn't even hold a charge. On top of that, my catalytic converter -- which had no issues -- was removed and replaced with a straight pipe without my permission. My converter was valuable, and I was never told it would be removed in the first place. After a year and a half of mixed-up stories, broken promises, and changes to my vehicle that I never agreed to, I cannot stress this enough: I do not recommend this shop to anyone. This has been one of the most unprofessional, stressful, and disappointing experiences I have ever had with a mechanic. One of the cars, a 2010 Mercedes was in bad shape, but Brian kept trying and trying to get it running solid so my son could drive it to school in Mississippi. In other words, the engine was nothing more than an expensive boat anchor. Although they could have tried to charge me about $600, the good people at Graves charged me the minimal diagnostic fee.
