I was pleasantly surprised that I could get such a quality and hip meal in a small town like Bellingham today.. I could hardly believe my keto pleasure when I ordered cauliflower and a wonderful aioli sauce. And the French onion soup was as good as any I've gotten in Paris. We come to this little place often. Nice ambiance and food is decent. What really makes this place is the staff. Brie is by far the reason we come. As do all our friends. We enjoy much of Luna's food and have come here fairly often. Tonight though was very poor kitchen service and timing. We ordered their sourdough appetizer and those came out about 20 mins after the order, after reminding them twice. Then our food came out piecemeal after that. My husbands meal didn't come out at all and the waitress said she had to have them remake it and it would only be two more minutes. About 20 mins after my husbands meal came out as the rest of the group was finishing the meal. Not to mention water and sodas being refilled once 50 minutes after ordering food. I get things happen but then when they charge you full price and don't offer something satisfactory to make a customer feel it was a mistake and want to come back. My husband actually asked for a discount on his $17 meal and he did receive a $5 discount. Just feel in a situation like that costumer service could be a lot better. read more

We especially like being able to have our favorite burgers, halibut & chips and some other chef special entrees during the week. It's great having reliably great restaurant meals close to home during the pandemic. The online ordering for meal pickup during this extended lockdown is not nearly as wonderful as eating inside, but the food is well prepared, presented nicely & placed right into my vehicle when I drive up. My group came tonight for the Prime rib special and I have to say, it was very disappointing. I ordered the 16 oz. medium-rare and it came very rare and yet, was gristly and hard to cut. I ended up eating maybe a quarter of it. The jalapeno-artichoke appetizer was good, our server was very nice and attentive, so that's why I'm giving the experience two stars. Ok, this place is dangerously good. Kudos to the bartender and chef, they know what they are doing! They are always adding new things, their deals and specials are always up my alley, and I love the location. The restuarant is wonderfully staffed, I always feel welcomed and at home. I recommend the truffle fries, any of their meat dishes, you can never go wrong with any of their appetizers-or for that matter, any entrees. Hidden gem! Chef Teddy does a beautiful job with perfect bistro food! I have lived all over the US and traveled extensively in Europe. The extremely excellent meal with subtle flavors and great presentation reminds me of one of the best meals I've ever had in Lyon, France. I recently picked up a takeout order from Luna Bistro and when I looked at the receipt, I noticed two extra charges. One was for $2.00 and said Consumables and the other was a 3% charge that said Kitchen Staff. I questioned the waiter about the charges and he said it was something the owner had implemented to help pay the kitchen staff. I think this is a ridiculous way to gouge the customer even more than some restaurants already are. I will not be ordering my takeout from restaurants that are taking advantage of customers. I am sure most people don't even notice these charges. I am glad I noticed . Will not be back to Luna Bistro. read more

Super friendly service and amazing quick and on point for a late 2:30pm lunch. Good selection of beers on tap. I had a nice Hefeweizen to go with my French Dip sandwich. Bun was a little soggy on the bottom, but I am dipping it anyway. Beef was ample and flavourful mushrooms. All around satisfying. read more

Wow! So Jesse, the owner, contacted me upon seeing our review and offered to comp us another dinner. We took the offer as we enjoyed their brunch specials and really wanted a good experience. They went way above and beyond to make up for our night! The manager served us and she was right on point the entire time and very kind. The food was fantastic and overall we have no complaints and are very satisfied. Two thumbs up to Jesse Cantu for reaching out to make things right and really delivering. Best thing about this place is the location. Right next to Regal Cinemas makes it a good place before or after a movie. But, the food is average and expensive. Service is friendly and *very* slow. If you want to be left alone, I guess this may be a good place for you. read more

I really like this place because it's so close to work and the decor inside looks amazing. This was a second time visiting just to make sure. The staff was nice and full of energy and super attentive. I ordered the smoked chicken ravioli - it was still cool in the middle which I didn't like. Went back with a gift card and found far less to eat, no delicious bread and less friendly options for a dairy free vegetarian than I had remembered. My date liked his burger, and I'll admit, their cauliflower was good for gluten/dairy free-ers, but I wasn't wowed like before. Wines by the glass are spendy for what they're trying to turn it into (small eats, good drinks) but beers are less pricy. I've been to this restaurant a number of times and have been very impressed by the food, service, and decor... and let me not forget to mention the wine! Due to some good timing and bit of luck I also got a tour of the kitchen from the head chef, and it's quite an impressive, modern, and efficient machine. They actually have a very small freezer and most of the dishes are prepared on the spot. I highly recommend their salads, ravioli, and salmon. Be sure to take wine recommendations from the staff as their wine list is extensive though fantastic. Bon appetit! read more

My wife and I eat out about once a week and are picky about where we go. With that being said: This place had an amazing staff who in and of themselves could have made the experience worthwhile. However, the food was also amazing. I had Ravioli (spelling?) with a white sauce and my wife had chicken parmesan (spelling again?). These dishes are both made with in-house ingredients and were spectacular. The restaurant itself it pretty neat as well. It offers a variety of seating including booths, a bar, larger tables and an upstairs. All in all we will be back to try something else. I would recommend it. read more

We showed up for one drink and apps. Took 15 min to get a drink order in so we skipped the apps. I ordered a refresher and got black and wilted mint in my beverage. I mentioned it politely to the waitress, and said she should probably make sure no one else is served this rotten mint, she said thanks, but still charged me for the drink with rotten food in it. Huge wine list with reasonable prices by restaraunt standards.There were some very expensive bottles on the list. Sam the server was very helpful and friendly. The meals were acceptable,but my wife did not like her salmon fettucini. It probably was prepared ok, but she did not liked the taste of it at all. Ordered a bottle of Sangiovese and we both had the pork tenderloin cooked with a sauce of apples and shallots served with roasted vegetables, we declined the potatoes. Delicious!!! Great atmosphere but if you're there for the food - run away fast. It was god awful. I ordered a double size of the Spinachi salad as it sounded great and took only two bites. Second bite was out of disbelief that they could screw this up so bad. Had my wife try try a bite to concur it was not just my taste buds being out of whack. At least they did not try to charge me for it for this train wreck. My wife tried the Fettuccine Alfredo. Words from my wife "pasta was not cooked enough and not saucy enough". I tried a bite and would have sent it back if I ordered it, but my wife choose to eat more as it was late and just wanted to eat something. The calamari steak dinner was a blob of fried breadcrumbs or panko not sure which, vegies served with entrée were unidentifiable again tasteless. Garlic mashed potatoes guess what, tasteless. The Diablo Pizza was greasy & slid right off the crust. Pasta dish was nothing to write home about. I certainly will not give this "bistro" a second chance. The staff and service at Luna's Bistro was exceptional. Malia made sure our coffee and water were topped off often and got our order submitted pretty quickly. She patiently answered our many questions about the brunch options. The sticking point was how long it took to get our food. I figured since there was only one other table of two and they'd already eaten, that we should quickly get our food. It took easily 30 minutes or longer to prepare breakfast....and then the waffles were definitely not hot. I doubt if I'll come back though not because of the service.....mostly because of the waiting time and the quality of the food. read more
