Everything about this place is amazing!! It was out first night in Italy and we researched some places to eat and landed on Luna Rossa!! The place is cozy and welcoming, friendly and inviting. The staff was friendly and courteous! Again, this was my first genuinely Italian meal & it was delicious! We ordered pizzas and different pastas their servings are so generous & they were all delicious!! I wish we'd stayed an extra day in Italy so I could've had Luna one last time.

Very rude service do not recommend. I walked in and asked for a table for one. They looked at me weird and did not acknowledge me. Two people went up to get seated and I asked what do I do and they started yelling at me to wait. I was asking what do I do, and they were super rude. Too many options in the area I do not recommend this one.

The place is not touristic, it is more of a local food place. The options are not so traditional Italian but you can find wide variety of options. I was starving for chicken after two days of eating pizzas and plain pastas, so I ordered grilled chicken and good salad portion. I also tried some pasta. I ordered one with blue cheese and walnut sauce and it was so tasty and creamy, we ordered another one with quatro formage sauce and it was ok. Our friend ordered a mushroom pizza and the base was perfect. We added Tiramisu at the end and it was so light and tasty! The experience in general was ok for what we paid. Come here if you want to get big portions with less money.

He's the man! Luna Rosa pizzaiolo. Hard worker creating the yummiest pizzas!

What a great find! You might have to wait in line for a bit but things move swiftly and your time spent waiting gives you time to peruse the massive pizza selection. My partner recommended getting 2 pizzas and that is fine if you want to have some outstanding leftovers to bring home or to your hotel or rental. The pizzas are standard American sized so definitely enough for 2 people. My partner's pizza with smoked cheese and meat was a real standout. I tried to steal slices in between bites of mine which had toppings of tomato sauce, prosciutto, mozzarella and arugula. BTW, I'm going smoked next time. On our way out, I gave the pizzaiolo a thumbs up and a big "Primo" shout out. He gave me a nod and a big grin which grew even larger when I asked for a photo. He held up his finger as a "one minute" sign and proceeded to put on a fresh cap for his star moment. He obviously loves his work and churns out delicious pizzas at jet speed. Amazing work by this man and our waitress who multi tasked at being the hostess, cleaning tables, waitressing and even forgiving me for requesting a different table. Gracie Luna Rosa and major kudos to the outstanding pizzaiolo and the hostess/waitress!

We ate here the first afternoon in Milan and we just love the pizza. They were bigger than personal pizzas so we had a lot.

Also, there was a bit of a weight when we got there, but it actually grew to almost a dozen people. They see people quickly so the turnover is pretty fast and you don't wait long. Since I was concerned about limited menu, those fears were allayed when the Waiter takes your order - he lets you know about the four or five other ones that are not on the menu that are all sounding great So we picked 'chef special' (they pick for you) and a white pizza. The service was pretty quick, and the pizza comes out right away Obviously with such high turnover, they have figured out the formula for delicious pizza. They nailed the crust as well as all the ingredients. Really delicious. The toilet facilities definitely need a lot of help. That was my only real comment about the atmosphere. It's very basic, you sit at basic tables. They seemed to all be helpful

The chef's surprise was a salami and burrata pizza, and it was top notch. We also had the Delicata Bianca, which was beautifully balanced. They even went above and beyond to do a half and half pizza for each of us! (See pics) Some of the Italian craft beers surprised us, and we also got a few liqueur shots on the house! Nikola/Nichola was absolutely fantastic: super attentive, friendly, and radiated joy. I also found out he was a fellow Sri Lankan, and we had a good laugh about it. The folks sitting next to us were also super friendly, so we had a great time all around. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Milan :)

Seated very quickly, nice clean restaurant and nice waiters although language barrier made ordering a bit clunky. My wife got the ravioli while my friend and I got the bolognese lasagna. My wife said the ravioli was good not great and our lasagna was very tasty but room temperature. I like my food hot. The other person at our table got salmon and it was way overcooked and very tough. Not sure why our other party got Salmon at an Italian restaurant in Italy but to each his own. If you want a glass of wine you only have two choices, white wine and red wine. No other available. This is probably because the restaurant doesn't carry large inventories of wine due to their small size and cost. Overall no way is this above an average restaurant. It's just okay. Heat up your lasagna better, teach your chef how to cook Salmon and expand your glasses of wine selections.

You could easily pay twice as much for something not as good as that at Bellavista Cafe. Great spot if you want to experience some quality local food and not break the bank. At lunch the place was filled with locals so the food must be good and the prices fair. Well worth the trip!

I would recommend making a reservation during prime hours and sitting outside if they have space there. The pizzas are the thin crust Roman style and very solid - the classic Margherita is the one to get as the execution is fantastic. You get the flavor of a NYC slice made with better ingredients and with a great thin crust. This reminds me of Marta in NYC which closed during COVID. The classic entrees are made in the comfort food style - solid flavors, generous portions, and good ingredients. Be sure to try the costelleta or ossobucco. The cutlet is perfectly tender with a crispy crust served with fantastic roasted potatoes. The ossobucco itself is just okay but the risotto is very satisfying especially with the bone marrow. If you are by the Duomo or Galleria and want comfort food this is a great option.
