Always great service when I come here to eat, the staff are friendly and welcoming! The food is amazing, I almost always get the chicken kabob and substitute the salad for the hummus which is always a great go to when you can't choose what to eat. The Baklava is to die for! Also, they have a pretty cool reward system, if you forget to scan your rewards card from the app you can always scan the barcode on your receipt to get your points! read more

Overall impression: stingy no customer service. The food is pretty good but the reason the place is usually almost empty (it's 12:50 pm on a Wednesday right now and out of the 80 seats 15 people eating here). I've never seen more than this. The prices are ok. (Pic is the lamb kabob plate and it was $17.19). But the turn off is their inflexible attitude toward substitutions or extras. Everything costs extra and it ain't cheap. I never get bread so I always ask if I can have more salad instead. Absolutely not. More rice? No sir. More yoghurt sauce? Nope. Come on---How much does white rice cost them? Employees seem defensive when I ask. I was told by one that people ask all the time and they aren't allowed. Everything is measured and they seem to only give you enough sauce to enticeeyou to buy more. A tablespoon of yoghurt sauce is a dollar. Management take note, stinginess is not a good business model. read more

Luna Grill Oxnard - Mediterranean Near Me - Oxnard, California

Food was decent but if you know what traditional Greek food should taste like you will be disappointed. They have a very diluted version of the traditional gyro that I was not pleased with and was not impressed with the quality of the meat. I would rather eat the other greek chain restaurant Daphne's. read more

Love this place! But this is the second time that I ordered the el Greco bowl with extra tzatziki sauce and got none )-: hope they get it right next time but again love this place! read more

I was most happy with Maria. She listened to what I wanted and adjusted the plate items so I would be happy. She was extremely pleasant making our dining experience a good one. We were happy so many of the items were organic and I was even able to get organic beer. We will be back. read more

Luna Grill Oxnard - Mediterranean Near Me - Oxnard, California

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! I was out running errands with my kids, and pushing the envelope to feed them lunch. But NOTHING healthy at the collection--burgers, pizza, BBQ, gross chain food. I saw Luna Grill next to Target and thought I'd give it a try. I'll be back!! We started with hummus and pita, perfect consistency in the hummus and ample pita to scoop it up with. Kids had cheeseburgers which arrived on delicious brioche rolls, with excellent crispy fries and-BONUS-cucumber slices! I ordered the Greek salad with chicken. Perfectly dressed, and chicken was tasty and cooked exactly right. Staff was so nice and friendly, especially impressed that the manager Judd was checking with every table for satisfaction. This place is doing it right. read more

This place doesn't disappoint. I've enjoyed every meal here and I least try something new every time I go. Everything is legit. The Baklava is delicious, the meats are savory and well seasoned. Portion size is filling for sure. And they have wine! read more

I regularly visit this location in Oxnard, and one in Sherman Oaks. This chain has become one of my default selections when I'm in the mood for "100% real food." The staff is very friendly, efficient, and attentive. Everything is very fresh, and made to order. Wait times can take a while occasionally, but it's always totally worth it. The Chicken Kabobs are my favorite, along with those wonderful stuffed grape leaves - I could eat those forever. Portions are ample. Also, be sure to try out their homemade iced teas, they're perfect during these relentless summer afternoons. read more

Food was tasty but didn't seem like good value. Too much rice and not enough meat for the lamb kebab. The beef kebab was crazy tender and tasty but once again too much lettuce instead of salad goodies to justify the dollar upgrade to Greek. It was good...but I won't return. Also, why the pita but nothing to dip it in? read more

Can you say yum humus? Super fresh veggies and yum humus ~ roll it all up with rice in pita bread and try not to lick your fingers while dipping in yogurt cucumber dip. Reasonable prices... flip flops and shorts ok read more

I give this 5 stars as the food and service is so good. I mainly call in for to go orders. I like the Chicken Kabob Plate the best. The Steak is okay. Large portion of food. Fills you up good. The Gyros are pretty tasty as well. read more

Great spot to eat healthy. Nice setting. Good customer service. Highly recommend it. Chicken plate.

Greek deliciousness! The gyro is so tender and tasty. I just wish the bakalva was bigger!

The food is great. Chicken falls apart and is so flavorful. I'm middle eastern so my standards are high for the food and they nailed it. Service is also top notch. We will be regulars here for sure. We ordered the chicken kebab & spicy hummus and both are delicious read more

Amazing food and huge portions. Cool atmosphere and even though you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table, you can still order wine! It's like fast food speed but with top notch sit down quality. I come here every time I'm in town! read more

I was super excited to try this place after reading the reviews but we will not be eating here again. The food appeared to be all pre packaged and it is salty. I ordered the Greek Salad and it was nothing that a bag salad and a bottle of cheap dressing couldn't take care of at home for a fraction of the price. My husband ordered the Lemon Chicken Soup and I swear it was Campbell's Chicken and Rice with lemon flavoring. There are good Mediterranean restaurants in Ventura and Moorpark and we will stick to those. Why open a restaurant with meh food. read more

Love, love, love their chicken kabob plate. It is my go to spot on Tuesday (they offer free kids plate with each adult plate ordered)!

If ordering take out at this location, check the food before leaving the restaurant. Expected to have same experience the first time i placed an online order but this time came home to burnt food. read more

I may give it another try in a couple of months. My experience there at 4:30 yesterday afternoon convinced me they are not ready to be open. Good news/bad news there were only 3 customers in the store. They certainly could not have handled any more. read more

BEST FOOD AND TOP NOTCH SERVICE!!! It's our first time coming in to eat here and we were blown away how good the food is!!!! YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THE FLASH FRY CARROTS!!! Excellent vegan options! Thank you Jada for giving excellent service to your customer!!! You're the best restaurant manager I've ever encountered and in eat out a lot! read more

To start I really don't care for this type of food but I figured I would try this place since it was new. I gotta say I liked it more than I thought I would. I got the beef kabobs. They were really moist and flavorful! Only downfall is that there are only 4!! Other downfall is that it comes with a ton of salad that didn't have even close to enough dressing. So it was pretty much greens. Blah! I don't care for the rice either. Tasted good eating it with the grilled onions that came with the beef. Other than that it was blah too. My friend got the chicken kabobs and they were yummy too! There was much more chicken! So if you're hungry, get the chicken. For my kids I got the chicken and the cheese quesadilla. The quesadilla was eh. The chicken was the same as my friends. It's not really a kids food kinda place. And they only have 2 high chairs!! If you download their app you get a free appetizer! The hummus and pita bread is delicious! I wouldn't come back though. I'm still hungry read more

The chicken and rice need more flavor. The taste is very bland and unfortunately Luna Grill is a franchise and probably nothing can and will be done about it. Went there right when they opened up and didn't seem like they were ready. Floor was wet and chairs were still stacked. There was a employee already eating her breakfast/lunch which I found odd, they just opened up. The food took a very long time. Maybe because I was their first customer of the day. Food did taste healthy and fresh. read more

Good, not too expensive, I ordered the sample plate, humus was yummy I got spicy cilantro which wasn't really spicy, the felafels are yummy, couscous was good, grape leaves are okay, my bf got a burger, very good burgers here which was surprising because it's a Mediterranean place read more

I love the design of this place. I have been craving Greek/Mediterranean Food since Daphnee's closed down in Ventura. What I loved: The sampler appetizer, we used the yelp check in coupon they honored it and made us pay the rest. The hummus was fresh and they give you a lemon to squeeze in it. The salad with Greek yogurt. I hands down loved the veggies. The spinach pie! It was light and fluffy the seasoning was perfect. What I didn't like: My gyro signature plate, we waited for about 20 mins which was fine. Once I got it, it was filled with so much rice and not enough meat. Also my gyro meat was cold. Other than that I'm willing to give it another try, next time I'll order a gyro wrap/ salad/ or a kabob hopefully the meat won't be cold. read more

We had the pleasure of trying Luna grill during their soft opening for lunch today. The food is good and so is the atmosphere. The food is reasonably priced and offers good overall flavor. They offer the more popular Mediterranean food offerings. The Chicken was cooked very well and had great flavor. We also loved that the Gyro meat was not overly salty like most Gyro meats tend to be. We ordered: Spinach Pie - 2 large pies (good portion) - YUM! Gyro Wrap - (average portion) Fresh ingredients and good flavor - YUM! Chicken & Gyro Plate - Fresh ingredients (large portion) - YUM! Kids Chicken Gyro w/ French Fries - the fries were nice and crispy. Meat quality & flavor was the same as the entree. - YUM! Red Velvet Cupcake - can't really mess these up - Yum! Pistachio Backlava - YUM! Overall - We don't eat Mediterranean food often, but when we do, we'd gladly come back here. If you're on the fence, this place is worth a try. It's reasonably priced and surprising that it's not more expensive for offering so many organic, non-antibiotic fed meats, etc. read more

Food was good. Customer service is terrible! Natalie was very rude, went out of her way to interrupt my lunch to charge me for my drink.

It's been a favorite for me before moving here and now super excited that it's a few blocks from our home. It's always light, fresh, and delicious. A must try for anyone who hasn't been here. Yes, it's a bit pricier than other places but for my family it's worth it. read more

Waited almost 50 minutes for our food the server kept saying it was coming we had to ask for it twice before they realized our Dine in order was made for take out the guy gave it to me & it was all soggy I asked to speak to their supervisor and they said he should be in a few minutes & he never arrived. Decided to ask for our money and leave their soggy food behind. read more

I'm originally from the Detroit area, which has the largest population of middle eastern people in the US, and this is on par with what I can get there! Delicious read more

Absolutely love this place. The chicken kabob is awesome. I always get the side of hummus. They will substitute fresh veggies for pita bread at no charge! Love that. Nice staff clean and quick service. read more

My wife and I went to dinner here and it is tremendous!! The food is amazing with awesome gyros, stuffed grape leaves, basmati rice, hummus, and veggies. The most impressive thing was the service. We told the GM Judd how considerate, helpful, and attentive the entire staff is. Whatever this place is doing, they need to teach it to every other restaurant and eatery. We were very impressed and are certain to return again. Thank you Judd for putting together such a tremendous restaurant with your team. read more

The food was unbelievably ..... yucky!!! Everything!!! Rice and gyros .. bad . Over spiced and just un tasty. The chicken wrap was worst than mine, chicken was tough, not a bit tasty. Avoid!! read more

Food was great. Ordered the ground sirloin plate and the meat was flavorful, good quality. Portions are large for the price. Had a side of spicy hummus with pita and veggies and was just as good. Service is horrible. Server forgot our order, then argued. Food was stale, not worth the money. Not ever coming back.

Loved the food and great service ! We needed a different Mediterranean menu around here :) read more

As someone who's grown up around Greeks and greek food my entire life i can say I'm normally a bit critical when it comes to it. I lowered my expectation when ordering here but I guess it wasn't enough. The gyro meat was extremely dry and the tzatziki sauce that was supposed to come all over the wrap was on the side in a tiny little sauce cup , definitely not enough for the wrap to begin with. Being that I haven't eaten greek food since I moved from New York in July of '16 I was really looking forward to finding my spot here but I'm a bit disappointed. I will be making a second visit in hopes that the gyro meat isn't dry this time. The saving grace for this review had to be the spanakopita(spinach pie) which was absolutely amazing! I'll be back for my second try at their gyro! read more
