We should have left when we saw a diner return their meal, but nonetheless, decided to give Luna Grill a try. Atmosphere = 2 stars (I've seen better). It's at the giant Collection shopping mall. Parking is reasonably good depending on the time of day. Luna Grill is a "wait in line, order at the cashier, get a number, they bring your food" kinda place. Everything else is self serve. The noise varied from quiet when we ordered to raucous by the time we left. Bathroom was barely passable. Service = 2.5 stars. Asked for small plates for the table but we didn't get them. Had to go to the cashiers to ask for them again. Got them with an apology and a smile. Our appetizer platter came and the staff tried to give us another diner's meal. We pointed out the error and they took it away. We did eventually get all our meals. Food = 2 stars (I've had better) Appetizer (2 stars). The three of us split the mezza platter, a sampler of white bread soft triangles of pita, a decent scoop of unremarkable hummus, a generous portion of bland couscous salad (w/ the larger Israeli couscous), 4 rather mushy stuffed grape leaves and 4 over-fried and dry falafel. It says it serves 3-4 and to their credit, it does. As you can tell by the description, we were underwhelmed by all the items. Everything was tasteless. Next was the Arugula Salad (2 stars). It came with quinoa tabbouleh and very dry chicken. We had high hopes with the lamb kabob plate (1 star). Alas, the lamb too was dry. The menu states it was tenderloin but if it was, the cook totally overcooked it. The best part of the plate was the green salad and the basmati rice. The best meal was the gyro plate (2.5 stars). Although the gyro meat was dry, at least there was some flavor. This plate also came with rice and a salad. All in all, we should have either left or at a minimum, returned our food as someone did earlier. But we were famished and by the time we got our food and tasted it, a group of maybe 30 people came in and we really didn't want to wait. Incredibly disappointed in the food. Frankly, it seems all the flavors are muted and toned down, perhaps to cater to our local tastes. Out the door with tax and tip, $54 for three people. read more

The food was really dry. And you ask for sauce or spread and they barely give you any. I would love to pay what ever it would cost me to get the amount of dressing I would need to make my food taste better. We ordered flat cut chicken kabob plate and it was so dry and the salad had no dressing on it. Coming from a mediterranean, there food is not. And I won't be back. read more

Opening night at Luna Grill... We love Mediterranean food so naturally, we were anxious to eat here. Overall: Great spot, reasonably priced with flavorful fresh food. We enjoyed steak, chicken, salad, rice and spicy hummus. Yummy! Staff was very kind, hospitable and accommodating. The manager, Judd, came by a few times to check on us and asked for our feedback. We will be back again. Only critiques: no offerings of lavash or wheat pita. Salad could use more toppings of tomorrow's, cucumbers and olives. Too much of plain iceberg lettuce. read more

My husband brought me here when I finally got well after being sick. It hit the spot. Great portions and really good food. I ordered the Chicken Kabob signature plate which came with house salad, Basmati rice, pita bread, cucumber-yogurt dip, choice of carrots or grilled tomato garnish. The chicken was juicy and tender. I wish the rice was all the yellow kind (not just white rice with a little bit of yellow on top). I used the pita and tzatziki with the chicken and it was SO good. Glad to have another good food option in the Collection. read more

The food was fresh and amazing. I tried the Gyro plate and the portion size was just right for on the go. The staff was very attentive. read more

My wife and I discovered this place by accident.we were going to eat at Red Robin which is in the same parking lot as Luna Grill. We were happy that we did. Our first meal was really good-we've only eaten there three times. Second time was still good. Yesterday I ordered the gyro plate for my wife and I to share as it's a lot of food. I had ordered it on a previous visit and was great. This time, not so much. Previously the meat was moist, hot and thickly shaved. This time it was dry, cold, and very thin. My wife didn't find anything wrong with it. I'm not going to let that stop me from visiting them, again. On the plus side: their grilled tomatoes, safron rice and and service are wonderful read more

This is probably my 5th time here in as many months since I've discovered this place. And I must say that I have NOTHING bad to report. As a pescatarian, I got the Norwegian salmon the first time and I've never changed my order since. I always get it! And dare I say, that it's always been cooked to perfection?! No doubt I know where to go to and have a delicious dish every time. Also, I loved the wooden colored circles they have on the wall so much that I ordered them for my apartment. Needless to say I am a fan and will continue to keep coming back. read more

So yesterday we stopped to eat here. We live in Palmdale and come see friends that live in Oxnard. We always come here to eat. Food is delicious and service is always fast and friendly! I wanted to come on here to say how wonderful the experience was yesterday . We were greeted by the owner (I think she was the owner) lol anywho long story short, she was so friendly and showed great customer service. She was such a beautiful soul! Her energy was great and made sure we were taken care of ! She even interacted with my son which was wearing crocs like her! Will be coming back again ! FYI the spicy feta is delicious! read more

Wow, the best part lace in Oxnard, in 43 years I have never had Tri tip so well made, everything was super fresh and yummy.

I sure wish that the covid crisis would end....the food is fantastic, it's the delivery fees that will get you...

Nice casual dining. Really enjoyed the Chicken Kabob. More than enough food. Hated to leave some behind.

Love this place! Delicious, fresh food and a welcoming staff. The manager always goes above and beyond to provide the ultimate customer service experience, can't recommend this place more. read more

Great food, clean restaurant & friendly service. I always order the Mediterranean Chicken Salad or the Lentil soup. My husband & kids like the chicken kabob plate. read more

Such good food, the only thing is the amount of time it takes to receive your food. At least that means it's fresh, but don't come here if you are in a rush! read more

We've tried many dishes in different locations and this location doesn't disappoint- delicious! Salmon kebobs, chicken kebobs, Greek salad with salmon- all delicious. The falafels are great- crunchy and flavorful. The items that have us returning is their spicy feta and garlic sauce. The garlic sauce tastes very much like garlic and we love it. Not for those that don't love garlic. read more

It was mine and my husbands first time here and we were pretty excited to both be trying Mediterranean food for the first time. We placed our order and were told it would be about 15 minutes. We got our drinks and sat down as time went by. After 20 minutes I said we should wait another 10. Everyone that got there after us had their food. It wasn't until 40 minutes later that one girl came to our table and said our ticket accidentally got bumped out of the screen so she gave us a full refund and said our plates will be right out and she apologized. We didn't mind so we waited. We had paid a total of 35 dollars and some change. But she only gave us 26 and some change back. We didn't complain or say anything. I'm giving the place 3 starts because the food was good. But the service was not what we expected. read more

Came in to Luna grill today and will definitely be coming back with my family! Was greeted as soon as walking in, was helped by Rosa, she helped me choose a dish and was very kind and helpful. Santorini chicken bowl is a must with a side of pita! On top of the food being amazing, the service here at Luna grill was beyond amazing. Everyone was very attentive. They definitely go above and beyond making you feel welcomed and attended correctly! The manager Cassie also was very kind, thank you Rosa and Cassie for making our visit so great! read more

Yummy food! Can be pricey but fresh is worth the treat! Kids' meal is usually enough for me.

Very nice and knowledgeable staff. We also had great service. The food was fantastic, and I rarely have had Mediterranean food. I had the gyros plate and shared the hummus and pita appetizer. Overall everything was well done. The humus was a great blend of spicy and tart. The gyros were very well done and I truly enjoyed what I ate and how I felt afterward. I'll be coming back sometime soon for sure. read more

I honestly only come to Luna Grill for their Spicy Feta and Pita Bread! It's the ONLY place that I know of local to Oxnard that has this. Beats driving to Newbury Park to go to Daphne's. I have tried their chicken kabob plate which is amazing in itself. The first time I went to Luna Grill, I waited nearly 30 minutes for my meal but this time, I waited less than 10 minutes! They've really picked up the pace. read more

Food was a little bland, but all in all a great experience and wonderful food! Definitely will be returning and bringing friends with me! It's hard to find good Mediterranean food out here but Luna has done a wonderful job providing that! read more

I think it's due to update this review to 5stars. I can say that for the past year. I have been an avid customer of their restaurant. I always come here. I eat here, either by myself, with my family or friends. The food is affordable and it's delicious. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoy coming here. I hope others feel the way I do. They do give military discounts if you ask them. they also have an app, which I always use and utilize for points. I do advise the staff though that I hope in the future they give me the military discount first, before deducting my Luna rewards so I can maximize my savings. I just didn't want to get into it with the cashier. I've worked in customer service, and I did help out my customers whenever I can. it won't hurt to put this information out there, right? Jussayin. read more

Chicken/"TOP SIRLOIN"---NO... Fake meat. Top sirloin tastes like hamberger meat. The chicken was great, kinda dry but good charbroiled flavor to it. The spicy cilantro hummus with pita bread was the best thing. The top sirloin was NOT top sirloin but more like charbroiled HAMBURGER MEAT from something like Carl's Jr. The Top Sirloin was a Huge Dissappoinment, never again will I order fake top sirloin, the should label it Chicken and Beef read more

I've found my new favorite go to restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing and very clean and fast. The store itself had good vibes and the staff was friendly and eager to help. If you don't know much about Mediterranean food, this place will please you. There are some good points. The food is fresh, healthy over all and different from the usual, especially in Ventura. They actually had sumac as a condiment to add to the food. The servers were friendly and food came promptly and was hot We ordered basic ground beef kabab as it is what we normally eat when we have Armenian or Persian food, plus the spicy hummus plate. We asked for no lettuce on the Greek salad and the counter server said that was no problem. Hummus plate came out first and was very good we took pita instead of veggies, but the choice is a point in their favor. The hummus tasted fresh and the warm pita bread was good. My hopes were up. The entrees arrived promptly but they left off the Greek salads on both our plates since the cooks had never heard of a real Greek salad which does not come on American lettuce. So they eventually brought out some sliced tomatoes, a few sad onion pieces and a handful of sliced cucumbers. And a container of bottled dressing of some kind. According to the menu there should have been peppers, olives and feta cheese. We paid extra for the Greek salad. I spent so much time cutting up the produce that my meal was cold. Eventually we got peppers, then a few minutes later feta. Never got olives. On the menu it says it came with basmati rice and it did cover half the plate and what was saddest to me was a tablespoon of faintly yellow grains scattered over the rice let me know they knew what saffron rice was but didn't quite want to make it. It could have been yellow food coloring. They didn't offer saffron rice, but that almost makes it worse. The beef was cooked, but it was small and thin, so very dry. It wasn't spiced much, there wasn't much to it. No one could have confused it with the spicy, juicy loolah we love. It was bland meatloaf. So we pretty much ate what we could and left it behind. It wasn't worth taking home. And I'm someone who eats this cuisine almost once a week and can cook it at home if I have to. I always take home food from middle eastern restaurants. Even sumac didn't make up for lack luster food. It wasn't horrible, but for the same price I could get twice the food and four times better flavor by driving south twenty minutes. Or into Ventura for real Mediterranean food on Main Street. It was...meh. We got the hummus plate free as a try us out teaser from the app. The first thing I did when I got to the car was delete the app. No need to go back Anyone who actually enjoys the real cuisine will be disappointed and a little sad. I'm going for the real thing tomorrow because I feel cheated out of a delicious meal. read more
