Luna Grill you are worthy of five stars after my visit today! I cannot wait until the Santa Barbara location opens. Thanks to my yelper homies Bruce E. and Michael R. for posting delicious pics from the Ventura location I knew exactly where I wanted to dine on my latest visit to the area. This location at the Collection was more convenient for me since I was shopping. The restaurant itself is very roomy inside with long booths, tables, and outside seating. I wanted to sit outside but they had no coverage or umbrellas to prevent the sun from beaming on me so I dined inside. Hopefully they will get patio umbrellas in the near future! First and foremost be sure to check-in on Yelp once you get to the register so you can unlock your free pita and hummus. You can choose the traditional or spicy hummus and if you're not sure ask for a sample. I chose spicy but it's more on the milder side with seasoning. Briana was my cashier and she was very helpful when I had questions about my order. I had a good experience overall with customer service here. Keep up the good work guys! Now let's talk food! I decided on the chicken kabob and ground sirloin ($14.50) This comes with a house salad, basamati rice, pita bread, cucumber yogurt dip, and choice of carrots or grilled tomato. When my plate arrived I was wowed by how much the serving size was! Totally worth what I paid. And I had left overs for dinner so that made me happy. The grilled chicken was tender and flavorful. It had a lemony taste to it and wasn't salty or dry. The ground sirloin was to die for!! Another well seasoned and very tender/moist meat. Highly recommend this plate!! The house salad was fresh, and the basamati rice was good too. There wasn't much to the rice but i love basamati anyways so it complimented my meal well. I also enjoyed the cucumber yogurt dip. It was creamy, light and slightly tangy. Had to take an extra one home! I'm no expert when it comes to Mediterranean food and I don't know how authentic this place is to one who would know but I can honestly say Luna has won me over and made a lasting impression. They have so many healthy options that are delicious that and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. Especially the manager, I think? She seems genuinely interested in her customers and in creating community. They have a great outdoor patio for the Covid conscious and lots of seating inside. The food was so amazing. Everything was well seasoned and cooked. I really enjoyed the Lunatic sampler plate and the double protein signature plate. We got the schug sauce on the side and the tzatziki. The schug sauce paired extremely well with the gyro meat. As for service I give this a 10/10. As soon as we entered we were greeted by Lauri.I kept noticing Lauri cleaning and asking guest if everything was alright and if there is anything she can get for us. Lauri's customer service is fantastic I can tell she cares about the guest. The young man working was also extremely nice. Ate here today with my wife and kids. The food was good as always and the staff is always so friendly. The lady at the register even suggested I get the special to save some money as it was already included what I had ordered. We love Luna grill. My family loves to order it for either lunch or dinner. We try all kinds of things in the menu and even the specials they come out with from time to time. My go to now is the seasoned fries and side of falafel. I mix them together and vwahla a good vegetarian meal. I also get the veggies plate which is so bomb.com! As others mentioned, the service is still a little "new." * 3 people + mgr. type trying to figure out whose register was open while I stood there waiting to order... * This after not suggesting or explaining menu when I offered that it was my first visit...and finally, the open register made reading the overhead menu board awkward...had to step back and forth. I sent an email as I have celiac/gluten allergy, so I cannot have the wheat pita and wanted rice instead. I received no response. About a week later, still no response. I ordered no bread/pita, and chipotle sauce with my meal, and I got pita on my food, and no chipotle sauce. The food tastes good, but this is bad :-( read more
