I wandered in thinking I was going to see the previous practitioner who had recently retired. But the warm welcome I received combined with stellar reviews on Yelp from her Santa Rosa practice convinced me to give Dr Loxley a try. The root canal work she did was surprisingly painless and she put me at ease throughout the process, always checking that I was comfortable. Any post visit discomfort was equally minimal. I would encourage anyone needing this kind of work to make an appointment with her. John B

Being in acute pain for a few days and with the Thanksgiving holidays round the corner, to be able…read moreto get an Endodontist's appointment seemed impossible. I called up a couple including Santa Rosa Endodontics and was accommodated the following day itself, for a consult. I was attended to by Dr. Marina Awad. I had been referred by the dentist for a 'retreat' of the root canal (done just months before) but instead of straight away wanting to go for that, Dr. Awad took the route of doing a thorough reexamination, first. They did a detailed 3 D X-ray, physical examination, blotting paper tests, did the level correction of that tooth cap, asked Qs, made suggestions, asked me to wait for a few weeks and come back (in case I could tolerate the pain and discomfort for a few days) to re-assess if at all a retreat was needed or was it okay to wait for it to heal itself (as visibly all looked okay to Dr. Awad). I preferred to wait and revisit. The thorough examination was undertaken once again and certain valid suggestions were got once again from Dr. Awad. The best part about my visits to her is her understanding and patient attitude. One of the suggestion/option she gave me was to try and wait it out for another six months to see if the issue was coz the root canal needed time for healing or a 'retreat' is really needed due to some other issue, especially when visibly all still seemed okay. I agreed with her point of view & suggestion. She is a thorough professional and seems someone who is in no rush to 'retreat' unless that's necessary. I recommend Dr. Awad and Santa Rosa Endodotics!!

Four years since I had dental work. Yep, I said I - four years…read more I have an phobia for dental work - I can handle the pain of the work but I can't handle the "so here's something we found, here's what needs to be done" and my teeth just don't cooperate with the intended goal. It all started about 12 years ago when a root canal nearly ruined my planned vacation to Hawaii. The dentist broke the drill bit in my root and spent about six hours trying to get it out. No luck, so the next day I went to an emergency oral specialist and spent another 10 hours sitting in the chair. I wanted the tooth pulled but each DDS said they had to get the drill bit first. I finally walked away without the dreaded drill bit in my root, about $2000 more in debt, and a year later, I loss the tooth. ;( My dear husband did a lot of research and became the family guinea pig in search of a new family dentist. He visited Villaggio Dental, had a check up, had his teeth cleaned, and started the process of more extensive dental projects. He raved about the staff and environment. Then my my husband passed away unexpectedly. The day after, a alert popped up on his cell phone to remind him of an appointment, and I called to cancel. A day later, my family received a beautiful bouquet of the flowers from Villaggio Dental. Who else out there can say that their dental office sent flowers to them, especially since they didn't even know us??? After 10 months of grieving, I found the courage to pick up the phone and make appointments for me and our daughter. My husband was not wrong - their office great! It's warm, inviting, and calm. There's a little basket of water bottles sitting on the fireplace. Current magazines, restroom access from the waiting room (so you don't have to ask), and a charming little kids play area. Staff shares the workload sensibly and every patient I saw come in was welcomed with smiles. Sat in the chair and Bethany took xrays and a preliminary exam. So friendly, and quiet, and calming. After explaining my "phobia" she let me know that I could leave any time, I could take a break any time - just having that permission was a relief. When Dr. Leach arrived, he was not rushed; he thoroughly explained the health of my teeth; he checked for signs of oral cancer (nothing there!!); he asked repeatedly if I has any questions. He seemed invested. And compassionate. I came back a couple of days later for a thorough cleaning. My PSTD anxiety had diminished little, but I was still waiting to hear bad news. Nothing. Susanna was just as terrific as everyone else. This helps me believe that Dr. Leach does whatever possible to insure his practice has competent people, and advocates for making patients comfortable. In the real world, every person has a certain way they want to interact with others. Can I guarantee you'll have the best dental experience in the world if you choose to become a patient at Villaggio Dental? Nope. But I absolutely know we're going to be receiving our future dental care with Dr. Leach and his staff.

Charged more than quoted. Dentist stated that an exam was needed to provide a standard of care…read more Unfortunately, this standard of care cost an additional $82 for a two-minute exam. No consent was given for this exam, nor the cost disclosed until after the visit. It seems that their standard of care is more about obtaining money than it is for the care of the patient.

I came in for a root canal after being referred by my regular dentist. I'm extremely pleased with…read morethe professionalism of the staff and the kindness of Dr Karney. When I first came in and sat in the chair I was impressed with the technology that they use at this dentist office. It's pretty high tech, at least from what I've seen in dentist offices. I have a severe back injury and I'm unable to sit in dentist chairs for long. It aggravates my low back and puts me in pain for the next couple days if I sit too long. I was fortunate enough to have this root canal only take about 30 minutes. Dr Karney has a high level of pride for his work and his patients as I've learned from talking with him after this procedure. I complained of pain in that tooth since the procedure that was about 2 months ago. I expressed that I'm unsure if it's the root canal itself or if it's the crown that my regular dentist put on after and he's offered to check it out for me regardless. There needs to be more dentists out there that hold the patients and standard of their work at these high levels out there. I've seen many different dentists in my time and have had some very bad experiences. No one really likes going to the dentist. Who willingly wants their teeth drilled into?! But when a dentist holds you to a high standard of care and does good work it makes things much more comfortable for such the awkward experience that it is. Thank you Dr Karney.

Within seconds he was able to spot and name what I had had a feeling was wrong with the work the other dentist had done. It was an immense relief to be worked on by him after the other place!! It was perfectly obvious Dr. Karney knew exactly what he was doing. Wish I had come here from the first, and I will from now on if I need to. Also, the office is beautiful - not something I thought I would ever say about a dental office.
