I first came to Dr. Widick to help with veneers that were originally bonded in Korea. It seems the…read morepreparation of the veneer was less than ideal and they slowly but surely came off one by one over a two month period. I even had the misfortune of swallowing one. And much to my surprise, the Korean lab paid for every repair I had done once back here, even though the amount exceeded the price originally paid in Korea. Dr. Widick "prepped" the FRONT RIGHT veneer and bonded it to my tooth. He also later had a brand new one made and bonded to replace the LEFT FRONT one which I accidentally swallowed one day. I also had the good Doctor refer me to an oral surgeon to have molars removed and gums and jaw prepared for implants. Dr. Widick installed the top teeth over the work prepared by the oral surgeon. By this time I spent a sizeable amount of money with Dr Widick and had teeth cleanings and deep cleaning whenever he suggested. No complaints so far.... wonderful bedside manner, cheerful and appeared to be very knowledgeable of his craft. THEN...the RIGHT FRONT veneer came off during a meal of mashed potatoes and vegetables. No aggressive biting, no hardened candies, no corn on the cob and no biting into apples. yet....the veneer came off. When I called his office to see which veneer he did from the start and which one was a re-bonded one, I was told the left one was the one Widick did and the right one was not done by Dr Widick. Angie, the receptionist on the phone looked up my history to verify this and stated that the right one had "MINIMAL PREPERATION" Those words echoed in my ear..... What does minimal preparation mean? After all, I did not remember paying minimal fees. I was then phoned by another person in the office who repeated at least a half dozen times that the doctor is not responsible! It is not his fault. I don't remember trying to point fault but asking for a bit of help as to the continuing ongoing expense. When I wrote to Widick in an e-mail protesting his office trying to say I was assigning fault... HE NEVER RESPONDED TO THE E-MAIL. I followed Dr Widicks dental advise to the letter and YET he never felt he had any obligation to answer my e-mail...... I think that speaks volume on how he treats you long term. If there is a problem, it is not his fault is the first response and not answering an e-mail is the second response. Think twice about SELECTING this type of treatment from a medical professional.

Four years since I had dental work. Yep, I said I - four years…read more I have an phobia for dental work - I can handle the pain of the work but I can't handle the "so here's something we found, here's what needs to be done" and my teeth just don't cooperate with the intended goal. It all started about 12 years ago when a root canal nearly ruined my planned vacation to Hawaii. The dentist broke the drill bit in my root and spent about six hours trying to get it out. No luck, so the next day I went to an emergency oral specialist and spent another 10 hours sitting in the chair. I wanted the tooth pulled but each DDS said they had to get the drill bit first. I finally walked away without the dreaded drill bit in my root, about $2000 more in debt, and a year later, I loss the tooth. ;( My dear husband did a lot of research and became the family guinea pig in search of a new family dentist. He visited Villaggio Dental, had a check up, had his teeth cleaned, and started the process of more extensive dental projects. He raved about the staff and environment. Then my my husband passed away unexpectedly. The day after, a alert popped up on his cell phone to remind him of an appointment, and I called to cancel. A day later, my family received a beautiful bouquet of the flowers from Villaggio Dental. Who else out there can say that their dental office sent flowers to them, especially since they didn't even know us??? After 10 months of grieving, I found the courage to pick up the phone and make appointments for me and our daughter. My husband was not wrong - their office great! It's warm, inviting, and calm. There's a little basket of water bottles sitting on the fireplace. Current magazines, restroom access from the waiting room (so you don't have to ask), and a charming little kids play area. Staff shares the workload sensibly and every patient I saw come in was welcomed with smiles. Sat in the chair and Bethany took xrays and a preliminary exam. So friendly, and quiet, and calming. After explaining my "phobia" she let me know that I could leave any time, I could take a break any time - just having that permission was a relief. When Dr. Leach arrived, he was not rushed; he thoroughly explained the health of my teeth; he checked for signs of oral cancer (nothing there!!); he asked repeatedly if I has any questions. He seemed invested. And compassionate. I came back a couple of days later for a thorough cleaning. My PSTD anxiety had diminished little, but I was still waiting to hear bad news. Nothing. Susanna was just as terrific as everyone else. This helps me believe that Dr. Leach does whatever possible to insure his practice has competent people, and advocates for making patients comfortable. In the real world, every person has a certain way they want to interact with others. Can I guarantee you'll have the best dental experience in the world if you choose to become a patient at Villaggio Dental? Nope. But I absolutely know we're going to be receiving our future dental care with Dr. Leach and his staff.

Charged more than quoted. Dentist stated that an exam was needed to provide a standard of care…read more Unfortunately, this standard of care cost an additional $82 for a two-minute exam. No consent was given for this exam, nor the cost disclosed until after the visit. It seems that their standard of care is more about obtaining money than it is for the care of the patient.

I hate that I have to spend extra time to write a review on my experience, but evidently the office…read morestaff did not think it was important enough to try and help the experience. Our family has been going to this location for many years and we had insurance to cover our treatment without any out of pocket, but things happen and our current insurance was no longer on their preferred network. So with this unknown status my son goes to his annual cleaning and then told his insurance may not cover all the cost and that he would have to pay out of pocket for his services. We live over 1 hour away in Willits, CA and he did not know he would have to pay out of pocket until that day. I always try to guide my kids to call me directly if they feel like they don't know how to make a good decisions without my presence, but he thought he would be taken care of as he has with every visit. Then the office asked if he wanted fluoride treatment and X-rays and most people without insurance would most likely opt out of this unless it's free or minimal cost so he did it with good faith that it would be covered by insurance for some of it. In the end he had to pay out of pocket over $234 for everything and for a young college student working part-time that is sad to have been taken advantage of like that. I then called and spoke with Noelle the office Manager who claims she had something come up and that was the reason she did not return my calls as requested last week. Claims that she spoke with the dentist and just danced around my request for some type of credit back for the misfortune with my son's experience. So now I have to write this bad experience review and it all could have been resolved if they just treated my family like a valued customer, but instead I have to chase them for a call back and turn to Yelp to share our experience. Thanks Noelle and Dr. Chung for nothing...WE WILL NOT GO BACK TO THIS OFFICE EVER AGAIN!!!
