I was searching for a healthy place for juices and went here for the first time. They use all natural products. I ordered the Matcha Mango smoothie and a hummus wrap. Place is small but clean & cozy. The owner is super nice and welcoming. I also loved the fact that they also sell additional products such as vitamins, organic teas and superfoods to add to your diet/smoothies. It's a nice place to go to for healthier choices

This place is a hidden gem. I was searching for a local açaí place. I really hate going to these chain spots with soft or frozen fruit. This place is amazing. Everything fresh! Not to mention they have sooo many health food supplements. I get excited every time I walk in. Black owned with great service is always a plus. Support my carribean ppl dem! Music is a vibe!!! And I love that while it appears to be a carry out spot, you can eat in at the bar or the two small tables. My go to spot now !

I was on my way to work, and was looking for a smoothie for breakfast. I found this place was on the way to work. It'd convenient if your commuting from the south shore Long Island heading west towards Queens. Surpisingly most smoothie places in my area don't open before 8am. There a small parking lot next to Gino's that you can pull into. I walked in and it was brightly lit, organized and clean. There's like a mini health food store to the shelves on the right. They sell healthy snacks, vegan snacks, supplements, and Terrasoul superfoods. I ordered the IcyAcai smoothie. I got the small size which was around $8. I noticed they also had fresh nut butters and fresh fruit. I paid, and my smoothie got made right away. I got my smoothie and drank it in my car on the way to work. It was super thick. It was good, not the best smoothie I had. Maybe next time I will ask them to add agave to it. When I reached the bottom of my smoothie, there was a chunk of something at the bottom. I think next time I'll ask them to blend it a bit longer. I recommend this place with some modifications.

Open for TAKE OUT business during COVID 19. Must call ahead to place order. Full menu is available + all the selections that the store usually has. Check their instagram for special items & their updated hours as well. When you arrive, use back lot. The back door has been converted to a makeshift take out window. Call Asif & let him know you are there. He meets you at the window with your order. Cash or credit is accepted. There is a service charge for credit cards but it is minimal. Visited today & was able to grab my favorite Matcha Mango & Purple Dragon smoothies, Jalapeño Better Chips & mixed nuts. I always suggest trying their snacks! *Not using/re-using mason jars for current sanitary concerns. No longer open on Sundays for the time being.

Everything is amazing! I love their juices, shots, smoothies and sandwiches! Chickpea tuna is so delicious! I usually get a custom juice and wheatgrass shot. Service is beyond friendly and accommodating! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!

I come here to have the juices and smoothies. I just would like to give a shout out to the owner Asif. Right now, so many food spots are closed or offering takeout. Asif is there, answered my phone call, and took a rather large order right at opening for some juices, smoothie and two açaí bowls. Everyone loves their stuff. The Immune Up is the perfect pick me up. When I came to pick up, I was surprised to see he was alone in the shop. Kudos to you Asif, for staying open, kicking ass, and providing our local community with healthy alternatives during this virus crisis. Your hard work is not unnoticed!

This place is THE BEST!! I have been to this place so many times and I figured it was time to write a review. I have tried so many items off the menu from here, they have tons of different juices, smoothies and bowls, but I have to say I am partial to the acai bowls. I get mine with all the usual toppings, but I add the cacao nibs on top, which gives it a little bit more sweetness. I have had acai bowls from many locations and I have found that the one here is one of my favorites, because it doesn't have the artificial ingredients and the added sugars like most of the other ones do. Aside from everything being so fresh and delicious, the staff is also extremely friendly, educated, and helpful, and I always have a pleasant experience when I stop in. I highly suggest checking it out, you definitely won't regret it, but you might get addicted!! read more

Find an acaii bowl isn't hard these days, but finding a GREAT acaii bowl can be. My fiancé and I stopped into Empowering Goods after some Sunday errands and were not disappointed! The staff was super friendly and my bowl was delicious. They have kombuca on tap and SO many different bowls and smoothies to choose from. I'll def be back again! read more

Perfect place for a quick Açaí Bowl or some healthy food! Açaí bowl is standard, comes with plenty of fruit and granola. Appreciate the nice reusable bowls for when you eat in! Really fortunate to have discovered this fine establishment approximately two years ago thanks to Dr. Guiterrez of Beyond Wellness. Since then I have been a consistent customer and maintain positive health by consuming the Immune Up Juices. Teaching fifth grade in a crowded public school I often feel a tad ill but when I consume the juices, soups, salads, bowls, and hunker down I recover rapidly. Great spot with a wide selection of bowls and smoothies to choose from. They also have a bunch of items they sell of the healthy variety that you either don't find in local grocery stores or don't require you to head to a supermarket to pick up. Asif is a master at his craft! His flavor combos are spot on. I had a bowl with dragonfruit that was unbelievably good. My daughter loves to eat here and doesn't even realize that she is being healthy. The atmosphere and customer service is top notch. WOW oh WOW i have been at a loss since Dr. B Well in Plainview closed it's grocery to become restaurant/deli only. ALL the things I could order through them in bulk like herbs and spices, in fresh sealed bags were now impossible locally. Other 'health food' establishments were to far to shop at regularly. Now we in the general central part of Long Island have "Empowering Goods", with fabulous Smoothies and Juices, ALL Organic and very reasonably priced! Only disappointment to this Vegan was the use of 'local honey' in them. Honey of course being the ONLY food that keeps the hive happy, and prospering and certainly the loss of which may be seriously contributing to colony collapse disorder now threatening so many areas of our country where Bees are stressed by both single crops covering huge areas and the ubiquitous spraying of pesticides! One can of course request Agave in their drink but you must remember. A HUGE selection of supplements & Vitamins which have VEGAN selections in the hard to find Vegan versions like Vit. D. MY friend had just ordered 2 of a particular brand supplement through Amazon and was surprised to see the exact same item considerably cheaper on the shelf! The owner does wide screen TV showings of various Health issue documentaries on Mon. night @ 6 PM and announces the next day's selection on F'book and Instagram Sun. Evenings. read more

Stopped in to see what this place was all about. They have an extensive selection of freshly made juices, smoothies and smoothie bowls. There's also some packaged items- green powders, teas, trail mixes etc. The owner was able to answer any questions I had and recommended the Everyday Greens juice, which I loved. I'm also a tea fan, so I grabbed a box of organic Indian tea to try. I will be back to try more of their menu items. It's great to have a health shop/ juice bar in the area finally. read more

I love this place! The only juice place in Babylon has scary reviews so I drove out to get a smoothie bowl/acai bowl, it isn't that far away. It has a really relaxed vibe and the people are always SUPER nice. There's a huge variety of smoothies, juices, and bowls, and there's a ton of stuff to buy like spirulina, bulk (cheap) grains and fruits/nuts/pulses, health food snacks, wheatgrass juice, even housecleaning stuff. It's weird because it feels big and open and there's one aisle but the one aisle has everything! I reaaaally love coming here and I love their bowls, I only wish they came in variable sizes like the smoothies since sometimes I like to eat half of one now and half later. But they're always excellent. Worth the drive, and all their healthy goods are amazingly affordable. It's also a really quiet place to hang out if you want to eat/drink your smoothie/bowl there. So many reviews of bowl shops involve subpar service, hostility, and sticker shock and Empowering Goods is such a positive, peaceful, transparent place. read more

Today was my second time back to Empowering Goods. The first time I went, my husband and I both got the Acai Bowl which was delicious! Today we tried out the Icy Acai Smoothie and the Sticky Monkey Smoothie. Both amazing. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Eager and excited to try the new local business that opened up near my apartment recently, I stopped into Empowering Goods to grab a quick smoothie on my way to the nail salon. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted and was helped with suggestions on what to order. The place is full of all organic products and I had many questions! Overall this place is awesome! I got the berry blast smoothie which was excellent and a bag of walnuts. Before I purchased the bag of walnuts, the owner offered me a sample of a walnut just to make sure it wasn't too stale, which I definitely appreciated as that showed me that he was focused on customer satisfaction, which is what all businesses should be doing. I'll definitely be coming back to this place again. read more

History

Established in 2016.

We opened our doors at Lindenhurst back in 2016. It started when the owner's mother was diagnosed with cancer and health became his obsession. The store was later renamed after his nephew Luis aka Lulu when he passed away from a rare brain cancer. The turtle in our logo represents him. We started as a very small store but over the last 8 years we have grown to be one of the most popular juice bars in Long Island. We just opened our 2nd location at Wantagh, NY and many more to come as long as the people are asking for it. Hope to see you there!

I am the owner of Lulu's Organic Juice Bar. I previously worked in the insurance industry prior to starting this business. Health is my passion and I live it every day. I learned the hard way that 50% off is no bargain. What used to be organic/healthy now looks like frozen unhealthy meals. They are even inconsistent with when they put food out? The pizza & sushi are just ok, nothing special. Everything is expensive including the $14 Guacamole. The croissants taste like brioche bread, usually stale. Costco has better fresh sourdough bread. I shopped here because it was convenient but all of these items I could get anywhere. Pass.

If i'm not making my own food at home, Lulu's Empowering Goods is one of the few establishments that I trust. The food is fresh and options are healthy, there's no question about it. All of the employees are hard workers who know most of their customers by name. Often, conversations spark up between customers eating at the counter because it is not just a store, it is a community. Which is why I took it personal when I saw the Karen who left a 1 star review mentioning masks. I work in a Deli. As food industry workers, we are wearing our masks for 8-10 hours a day to make sure our communities are fed. Risking our own health, for the health of our communities during these challenging times! If I want to lower my mask so the I can BREATHE for a few minutes, I will. And I support the RIGHT of any worker to take the time to lower their mask as much as they feel necessary (especially which running around stressed at work). If you disagree, then come into my deli at 8am, run back and forth with your mask on for 10 hours. Then we'll see how you feel. The health of our essential workers is just as important as the health of our customers. We need to breathe, so that we can do our jobs! Also, I've had customers come into my store without masks. We serve them and they leave. There isn't a single establishment who hasn't dealt with this rare circumstance. If you're looking for somewhere to eat where these two things don't happen, guess what, stay home and make your own food! Because it happens in every single food establishment in the country. I will continue to be a loyal patron at Lulu's Empowering Goods! I will be a healthier human for having decided to do so. I love you guys! Keep up the good work! read more

The staff alone earns this establishment plenty of stars, but add in the smoothie and the inventory and it makes it impossible to give anything BUT five stars! I stopped in on a Tuesday night, about 15 minutes before closing. I was greeted immediately by multiple people behind the counter. Since I knew I was coming in late, I had looked up their menu online so I knew I wanted to try their Choco Love smoothie. It only took a couple of minutes to make and they were super friendly and chatty while I was in there. I also bought a bag a matcha tea at a pretty good price.
