The hoodie was inn stock, but the pants only at another store. It was pretty far away, Christmas/nighttime/rush hour/weather...did NOT want to do that! No worries, he logged on, tap tap, it will be here tomorrow.....but the sale will be over. Bummer, no worries, It was ordered and paid for at the sale price. The next morning I received a text. My order was ready. In and out in less than a real minute. Polite, friendly and professional. Second, one of my kids has a foot problem and needed special features in her shoes. I spoke with the associate who A). Was sensitive to her need, she is very shy, and he spoke gently and kindly. B). Was very knowledgable about which shoes did and did not have those features. He found several styles in her size and we walked out very happy. C). I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, some small assortment of tops and bottoms that were interchangeable, had pockets (why is that so hard to find sometimes?!?), in a certain size. Here we go, he showed me the mix and match options including some BOGO options. Again, excellent service, friendly, polite and knowledgeable. CHAMPS has become our family's go-to for sportswear and shoes.

Well over that 20-year time period I can probably count on one hand how many times I walked out of there with something worthwhile. For one thing the store is always in a fair amount of disarray. The racks are overcrowded. Too many items where they just have one or two things and it's really hard to find what you want in your size. A lot of stuff on the floor and if you do find something you love you have to wonder if it was stepped on or rolled over by a cart at some point. The prices probably are more reasonable if you do find something but you really got to dig. The thing that really burns my hide is the line. It's been long often in the past but it could be worthwhile if you found something. This most recent time I went the line was ridiculous. I would guess there was 35 or 40 people in line and three cashiers. The people were lined up all the way to the dressing room. I expect this if I go in Ross or the Goodwill. Not Nordstrom rack. Never again. But I want to give credit where credit is due, the cashiers despite the crushing workload where personable and did not display any stress despite the obvious frustration of everyone staring at them doing their job. The store was typically well stocked and clothes were logically sectioned. While not all of the clothes fit my physique, I could typically find something for each part of a full outfit. Prices were great to excellent and the sales were spot on. The parking lot was large and shared and not too busy depending on the day/time of day. Inside the store, the merchandise tended to be tidy and handled a larger number of shoppers well. Lines at check out could be longer on bigger shopping days such as Black Friday. Even on non holidays, there have been shorter lines. The line wait time depended a bit on how much/what each customer was purchasing.

They obviously have 2xl as a size, but apparently order so few of them that I have almost never seen them. A few people came in to sell clothes and the staff was very efficient in helping them. There is one beautiful darker woman who is extremely helpful and nice. She was going around rehanging items, assisting customers, getting dressing rooms set up for us and then checked us out. There were other people working but she was great! I was shopping with my husband and he usually doesn't care much to find anything but even he loved their selection and found a really cool black jean jacket which he had really been wanting something like it lately but hadn't find the right one until now! He was pretty stoked with his find. If you take some time and look around slowly you can really find some very nice pieces for reasonably priced.

She then made a very obvious "tsk" sound and gave me a disapproving look. After I entered my email, I tried to explain that I prefer email receipts to save paper and avoid keeping physical copies. She didn't say a single word, didn't make eye contact, and immediately waved the next customer forward--completely ignoring me. Her behavior was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. I understand checkout can be busy, but basic courtesy should not be optional.

On October 22nd, my wife was shopping for a dog bed. After bringing it to the cashier, it rang up…read moreat $20. The employee conferred with others for about five minutes, then returned and publicly accused her of switching price tags--a false and deeply humiliating accusation made without investigation. The tags were mismarked by the store, not altered by her. Despite calmly explaining the situation, she was dismissed condescendingly in front of other customers. The manager, who identified himself as "Phillip," refused to review video footage or acknowledge the error. After careful reflection, we believe this was a case of racial profiling. The accusation was made quickly, without evidence, and with a tone that suggested guilt before facts. Instead of taking accountability for their own mislabeling, they projected blame onto the customer--possibly to deflect or escalate. This is especially disappointing given our long history shopping at Marshalls and its sister company HomeGoods in Lynnwood. We've filed formal complaints with Marshalls corporate, the BBB, and the FTC. I've personally written to the Chief Compliance Officer. Since my wife was accused of a crime, we are drafting legal framework against TJX Companies, Inc., the manager, and the employee who made the accusation without evidence. We're not seeking money or punishment. We're asking for a formal apology, staff retraining, and a commitment to treating every customer with dignity. No one should be publicly accused of a crime they didn't commit. No one should be humiliated for simply trying to shop. We hope Marshalls takes this seriously and chooses accountability over apathy.
