On my mission yesterday to purchase a new career warerobe, I decided to walk into stores I usually…read morediscount. I've walked by Tristan many times without looking inside - I thought the clothes would be for an age group older than mine, or too expensive. I walked in and was pleasantly greeted by a sales person as I immediately spotted and was drooling over a lambs wool blaser. I was excited to notice a large portion of their clothing is Canadian made. While I felt some of the designs were too mature for me, much was suited to a diverse range, very well made using fabulous materials. I managed to spot a lovely red cardigan on a sale rack, unfortunately they didn't have my size. They also had great classic dresses which were oh-so-Audrey, impeccably cut for a woman's figure, gorgeous fabric, and cheaper than the crap you find at Le Chateau. Prices borderline on moderate to much more than I typically spend, but the quality and timelessness is there which translates to great investment pieces. As a sweet marachino cherry on top the service was top notch! My MOA was to look in every store, think about items, return to the store for try on. One sales woman recognized me as coming back and was very sweet and helpful. I will definately come here!

I typically don't go to this store but as I was walking by, I spotted a shirt in a particular…read morecolour that my husband was looking for. I went in to ask a simple question about sleeve length (as most men's dress shirts indicate sleeve length - this one did not) and had to repeat the question 3 or 4 times as the sales associate(s) would try and answer before I had a chance to complete the question! (Listening skills, folks!) When they finally listened to the question and understood what I was asking, I had 3 sales associates trying to answer the question... too funny. (I was almost inspired to make a new joke: "How many sales associates does it take to...?"). It took about 10-15 minutes for them to grab a measuring tape and measure the sleeve length for me... Hmm. The staff is friendly enough I suppose (although the store has a bit of a "snooty" atmosphere) but it's like they operate on slow motion or something. I eventually purchased the shirt but had to return it as it wasn't suitable. During my return visit - again, service was in slow mo. The return process took forever... I might return as I did notice some really nice clothes. Some things were a bit pricey but the clothes seemed stylish yet classic/timeless and of high quality. If I do return, I'll remember to make sure I have lots of time to spare and to not bring my kids in with me as they will likely be waiting for-e-ver...

Aritzia falls under one of those "love hate" categories for me…read more I nipped in to check out their anniversary sale yesterday and my experience was just like every other I've had. I will summarize: 1. Walking in I'm utterly ignored. Fourteen year olds are acknowledged but I'm ignored every fucking time. Who has $400 to drop on jeans, me or them? 2. Their merchandising semi-irritates me because it's spotty - some displays are good, but looking through the racks is a pain and makes me feel like I'm at Winners. They have some nice stuff of good quality, and some looks not so good. 3. I find jeans I want to try on. Now I have a few hundred dollars of merch in my hand and a big bag so a staff member pounces on me to "start a fitting room" (aka - make sure I'm not stealing said jeans... again, me or the 14 year old?) 4. The fitting rooms; for once they don't make me lock my bag away, but I hate that they don't have mirrors in the room. Seriously. Now I have to fight for mirror space and try to tune out the employee who is telling me how great some unflattering jeans look on me. Yesterday however, I did like both pairs I tried and took the word of another customer. 5. I'm ready to buy - in yesterday's case it was a pair of Seven jeans which were just so cheap I couldn't say no (and couldn't rationalize the $400 jeans because I was looking for dressy jeans and they were casual-dressy). 6. Where is the line for the till? At least the cashier desk runs like a well oiled machine, and they are making the effort for customer service (friendly at the desk, walk around to hand you your bag). 7. Get me out of here, there are too many 14 year olds in my way! I like Aritzia for their kick ass sales, and the odd time for a kinda-cas-y-kinda-dressy cotton t-shirts. However, in general I will pick Holt Renfrew over Aritzia on most other occassions... Holt's is actually marginally cheaper and just a better shopping experience in terms of visual, merchandising, brands, and service. So Aritzia gets my firm más o menos.

I go to the fitting room they don't even try help me no one comes and asks me anything and I just wanted this piece of clothing and I still don't get help with sizing and everything so I just buy the other colour I spoke to a manager and she was helpful but when I asked another girl she just said "Not here order online" I asked again and she walked away! disappointing
