I love lululemon, and was sad to see the Ashby/college location had relocated to 4th St in Berkeley. I guess I was sad at how much longer it would take me to get there but I was fine with it, crossing my fingers in hope the warm customer service would be the same and sadly it wasn't. Girls were not helpful, they looked unhappy and angry to be there, fitting room experience felt like I was inconveniencing them, even purchasing my items made me feel awkward. It's sad cause this is going to my local lululemon and I not going to stop buying clothing from here but I'm definitely not going to look forward to coming to shop like I use to be. read more

D was extremely helpful in our shopping experience today. She knew all the sizes necessary and was so friendly and nice. One of the best experience I've ever had and can't wait to return to the store just to hangout. read more

This review is specific to an employee encounter I had. I was in lululemon Thursday morning to pick up a small gift for a graduating high school senior. My sister and I picked out the gift then brought it to the register, where a young man helped us out. When we asked for a gift receipt he said he didn't know how and asked a burly man, who appeared to be of higher status or more experienced, for help. This employee helped us, including looking up my information for the discount that I receive for working at a gym. However, when he realized that I was purchasing a gift he said he can't give a discount. Regardless of the policy, he was very condescending towards me, attempting to joke as to why I didn't get 15% of an item and it was only a "few bucks". His attitude was extremely fake nice and condescending, and did not show great customer service in the least bit. I bought two $12 headbands, not $100 jackets or yoga accessories- and 15% off those would not have hurt the company or the employees paycheck. I'm appalled at his attitude and rude conversation, and hope that this Berkeley store will take customer service in relation to this employee seriously. read more

I'll admit I was skeptical of their men's workout clothes, but I have a confession to make. About 18 months ago I had the pleasure of learning what Lululemon was, mostly by seeing these amazingly flattering pants on women in the marina and at the gym. I instantly started recommending them to my girlfriend at the time, and any other women who would listen to me. They just have this magical ability to make every girls rear end look amazing. I then went as far as to become a share holder in this company, because I believe so strongly in the magical powers of lululemon. Saturday I made my first trip to a Lululemon shop with the intention of maybe buying something. While I couldn't' bring myself to dressing head to toe, I did buy an extremely expensive yet comfortable work out shirt for $50. None the less, it was a great experience and those pants are unbelievable. read more

Stores like this make me want to scream. Yoga is already priced out of the reach of the people who need it most, so why not create an empire out of selling $150 yoga pants to yuppies? I would not seriously begrudge a person's right to enterprise, but I would not shop here even if I could easily afford it. This store is a great place to go if you want to buy overpriced, over-hyped, over-marketed apparel and run around town looking like a perfectly coiffed ad in Yoga Journal. If you actually do yoga, you may wish to invoke your aparigraha and avoid this place at all costs. Buy some $50 yoga pants and donate the rest to charity. read more

I don't care if it is overpriced. I always leave here with a sh*tload of stuff. The pants make my arse look lovely. Case closed.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Cannot say it enough. Worth the money. The service, selection... everything is great! Serious hotpants for raisin' of the heartbeat. Yummy, I could spend thousands of dollars here. A little too easily, perhaps. They should have a line of footwear!! Oh man! read more

i love my lululemon groove pants, they are so comfy and i wear them all the time. when they started pilling up i e-mailed this lulu location where i purchased them -- they replied and told me to bring them back in. even though it had been almost a year, the gal happily gave me a new pair and explained how to wash them. turns out i may have washed them with whites, causing them to pill. she was superkind and understanding about swapping them out, even though they hadn't done anything wrong on their end. now that's customer service, and is one of the reasons that i think it is okay to spend a little more on casual clothing here -- amazing customer service, amazing fitting clothes, everytime! read more

Came in today just looking around and Emma greeted me right away. She was very friendly and asked if I had any questions. She gave me some advice on their sports bra and ordered it online for me . I look forward to shopping with her again, Thanks Emma !!! read more

I needed a new yoga mat, and had some extra dollars I got as a present to buy something, so I figured I would go to my local Berkeley Lulelemon store. The sales clerk was friendly and helpful, and they had a nice selection of their (very nice) own brand mats. I bought one and they gave me a handy reusable shopping bag with handles, and their logo and yogi-graphics on one side. After I got home, I realized the other side said, in bold writing "WHO IS JOHN GALT?" For those not familiar with it, this phrase is associated with the extreme right-wing philosophy of Ayn Rand. I checked to see if this was intentional, or just a goof-up, but no, the founder of Lululemon is very into Ayn Rand. Yuck. If not for the bag, I probably would have given them 4 stars. And I am going to give them back their bag. read more

I'd give 0 stars to this location if I could. The clothing is generally well made and lasts a long time. Which is the only reason I'd ever go back. The customer service from the manager and salesperson working opening 1/23/17 in Berkeley was horrible and rude. read more

I really can't stand to even walk into this place any more because of the overbearing hard sell. The salespeople won't leave you alone for two seconds and insist on knowing your name right away. Note to salespeople: leave me alone! Not to mention, the stuff is overpriced and Beverly-Hills-ish, clothes for the nip and tuck set, outfits that would look good after a nice stint at the tanning salon. Ugh. What is this place doing in Berkeley? read more

From my initial experience, its staff seems very knowledgeable and eat to help. Given the label, and reputation, I suppose this comes as an expectation. Glad to see it lives up.....check them out if you're looking for yoga/fitness gear, a yoga session (down dog you go), or a year round weekly running meetup. read more

I love lululemon but the Berkeley Lululemon store needs some serious customer service training. Do they understand that they represent Lululemon? You don't just need to look fit, but you need to show how much you love working there, to educate and show how passionate you are about your product and sharing it with anyone who steps in to the store, even if they look homeless that day. I have been to 5 different Lululemon stores and this store scores the worst on my list. The girls have forgotten the concept of Lululemon. You can act but true passion, dedication to education, help and provide quality customer service shows without the act. read more

Worse customer service. Dealt with the shift leader or manager Diana and just felt a very unfriendly vibe from her from the initial interaction. My wife and I received some gifts but needed to exchange some size/ different style but she instantly gave me a push back. She lead with her own store protocol and the fact that she's been working for Lululemon for 6 years. I spent more than 45 mins in the store and I walked out with nothing resolved. Her and I talked to the guest education call center (on call queue for about 15 mins) and at the end nothing can be done in the store but they can take the returns if I ship it to them? To me, that's a waste of the company's time and money including mine. They are willing to spend shipping fee for me to send out the items and place another order online. That doesn't make any business sense to me. I have been shopping at a Lululemon since 2012 and never run into a store issue such as this. I know she tried her best to follow her store procedure but I didn't feel any type of empathy from her. read more

I happen to LOVE this location of Lululemon.....as the ones in SF and Burlingame are so picked over and never have the sizes I'm looking for! Went to this location and boom bam, right away found exactly what I came for....... Men's "Smash" Jacket in Large....check! Staff was super friendly and helpful too. read more

Every time I go in to the store Hannah is so helpful! There is parking on 6th street.

My husband recently purchased a jacket at this Lululemon for my birthday. They stapled the gift receipt to the tag (making the details impossible to read) and didn't mention anything about their strict return policy. They even suggested he get the color with less selection available, so I could return for the more plentiful color if I wanted. I brought the jacket in less than 2 months after purchase, with tags attached and in original bag, and they refused to even let me exchange for a different size. I called the headquarters and was told it was at the discretion of the store, but that I should try reselling on Ebay if I was unhappy. I've been a loyal, high-volume customer of Lululemon (specifically this store & online), but I will never shop there again. This is a disgraceful customer service policy. read more

my wife loves lululemon, and she was the one who put me on to their clothing... i agree their clothing is not cheap, but my thinking is: as a consumer i am willing to pay a little more for for quality, comfort, and great fit... i believe lululemon offers that... regarding pilling we wash our lululemon separate from our other clothing (especially cotton clothing) and we avoid the dryer and hang dry our lululemon... this cuts down on the pilling tremendously... the hemming on the pants is free... per the sales person in their vegas store you can bring pants back, and they will hem them into shorts for free also... besides their clothing, lululemon also makes some nice bags... durable with useful compartments... you can use their duffle bags for the gym, for work, or for travel... the berkley/rockridge store isn't their biggest store, but it still has a decent selection... the staff there is courteous and helpful... h-100... read more

I came back into the store two days after and was given the opportunity to make the exchange evenly. The same sales associate was apologetic and accommodating. We're friends again. Ok not literally but I'd shop here again. read more

why is lululemon so expensive? these clothes were made to sweat in, but yet it costs a fortune. however, the sales people here were helpful and nice. they tell you when your pants are fitting correctly, and hem your pants for free. the clothes are pretty cute. they have a pair of pants that are pinstriped so they look like suit pants. how clever is that? genius. you can wear sweats to work, be super comfortable, and no one will know! and if youre a fitness instructor, you should tell them because they have an educational program that gives you 15% off. ps. the music they play here is pretty awesome. it makes you want to sing along as you shop. read more

real simple, the best magazine ever, did a review on sports bras the same month that i was back on the market for one. according to my needs, the sports bra recommended for me was from lululemon. seriously like the next week, lululemon opens down the street from me. now i know this bra isn't going to be cheap, but it is the best purchase i have made in a very long time. i feel good in it, it fits very well, i'll even wear it without a shirt over it, it's so darn cute. it wouldn't kill the girls that work there to eat something once in a while though. ici is right next door. you're giving me a complex. read more

I was greeted warmly upon walking into the store, and while I was casually perusing the sports bra section, a salesperson asked if I needed any help. I told her I'd never been in Lulu before and I enlisted her in helping me find the most comfortable and flattering bra, and while we were at it, tops and pants too. She loaded me up with different sizes and styles and I had over 10 items to try on in the fitting room. EVERYONE was so nice and friendly. I had the girl who worked in the fitting room get different sizes for me, and she was really knowledgeable about the different fits of the bras/pants/tops/everything. This is top notch customer service I kind of expect when purchasing higher end items, but I was still blown away by how pleasant my entire experience was. There was no pressure to buy, and though I had an armful of things to try on, by no means were they expecting me to purchase. I felt like they genuinely cared if I found something I liked and fit me well. I happily traded my hard earned money for a pair of crops and a bra that were really great during my hike and camping this past weekend. read more

The strap on my Lulu work out bag broke and I wandered into this location thinking they would tell me "tough luck". To my pleasant surprise they were SO wonderful and even though I didn't have a receipt, they offered to give me a completely new bag or replace my strap with one that was similar (they no longer carried my exact bag). I was more than happy with just getting the new strap and couldn't be happier! Way to make the right decision for the customer, I will always shop this location! read more

Love this lulu location. A smaller store, but packed with the newest inventory and if you're lucky, you can find some gems on sale. The staff is attentive, helpful and genuinely caring. Thanks again to Brooke and Ally for helping make my day! read more

I've been to numerous lululemon locations in the Bay Area, southern California, and Portland, and this store has some of the best customer service I've experienced and a great stock of favorites. Before going online about merchandise checks, go into the store and check it out for yourself; websites aren't very accurate about specific locations' stock. This particular location stocks some favorites year round, albeit it's a pretty small space in comparison to others in SF. The employees are always willing to go above and beyond to help you find the right fit and they aren't just trying to get a sell. A lot of them are athletes in the studio and at Crossfit, so it's nice to receive various perspectives and opinions. read more

They have the goods but the prices are outrageous. A fool and his money are soon parted.

The clothes are awesome, although the shirts are not particularly great for the busty. My complaint is with the snobby customer service at this location. I mean, a little niceness and assistance would be appreciated as one browses a $98 sweatshirt, oh, pardon me, "hoodie." Please step up the useful help and minimize the attitude. Its not very Zen, or very Berkeley, for that matter. read more

While exploring the neighborhood, I spotted a lululemon store. I really like lululemon, so I decided to stop in. The Berkeley location looks like it has the same merchandise as their stores in SF/Grant St and Walnut Creek. I thought it odd that the staff didn't greet me. (Other lululemon locations always greet their customers, and offer to assist.) The Berkeley location is the only lululemon store that I've been to that plays rave music really loud (kinda reminded me of Abercrombie & Fitch). Had I not been in the neighborhood, I wouldn't chose this location to shop at. Finding parking is difficult -- the choice is either on street parking w/ meters, a very small public lot, or parking on a residential street. Still a fan of the brand, just not a fan of this store. read more

I had a fabulous experience at Lulu Lemon today! Usually when I go into Lulu's around the Bay Area, the salespeople are pushy and I can feel them looking me up and down. It was so refreshing to go into this store and see normal looking sales women (meaning not skinny mini tall blondes only like elsewhere) who really understood what pants would be best for my body. They were so patient with me and not pushy at all. I'm shocked to see some yelpers disappointed with service here. It was the most pleasant least intimidating store experience I have ever had. One of the women, Olivia, was particularly helpful. I bought one pair of pants and never did she try and force me into buying more. I dont know what the heck the other yelp reviews are about. They all have the cutest accents too! I think Australia maybe?? Anyway, I am so thrilled to have a nice Lulu lemon nearby that I feel comfy walking into with no judgement. read more

The clothes do *look* great but don't really hold up as well as they should. Before I had even washed them, my $100 yoga pants started pilling bad. It was just from lounging around at home after work. It only took a few weeks- I was so disappointed after spending so much on them! I don't even want to wear them to the gym because they don't really look good (even though they are just a few months old). I also see a lot of other girls walking around with bad pilling on their lulu pants too... I try to wash them as little as possible (and in cold water, without towels in the load, no dryer etc, trying to be careful!) but they still pill A LOT. So, although they do look fabulous when you try them on in the change room, be careful before you shell out the cash- they won't stay that way for long. read more

The employees are super super helpful. They are very welcoming, and are happy to help you, despite the store being constantly rushed with costumers. It was my first time at the store and I was exchanging an item that was given to me for my birthday. Since I am somewhat short (5'4), Emma, an employee at Lulu, was very quick to tell me the store has complimentary hemming. She pinned my leggings for me and now I'm waiting 3 days until my leggings are ready! All the clothing is very good quality so you are getting a good bang for your buck. Emma, as well as the other employees, were able to let me leave with a smile on my face, making me happy with my (expensive) purchase! read more

Been by this store many times but this is the first time I have been in it. Cool grand opening party! Small store, but nice selection of clothes. Ill definitely be back to purchase.

it's like yoga/dance couture. and i LOVE it. you definitely pay for it here, but it's completely worth it. the customer service is amazing here...some of them can even vouch for their clothing, as they are mostly yogis and dancers themselves. many people complain about how the material eventually pills up and doesn't become as...well...brand new anymore. but if anyone read the label carefully...you would know that you have to separate these clothes from all your other apparel. lululemon's clothes are in a different league people... special clothes require special attention. I've washed my workout gear plenty of times...and they're still fabulous. I put lululemon to the test by using several of their products as part of my costume in a dance show. After a week of performances and gallons of sweat later, the clothes were still fabulous. They kept me dry and cool throughout the entire show, and the compliments kept on coming. the clothes are beautiful. the concept is beautiful. the people are beautiful. the ENERGY is beautiful. try them out! read more

Free yoga at 9:30 am on sundays.

I back to lululemon after buying a shorts that were too small. I came towards the end of the evening and had several different sales reps work with me until I found the perfect fit. They were very friendly, and while they tend to encourage people to have a tighter fit than I feel comfortable they also recognize that it is important to be comfortable in athletic gear. It will probably be a while before I return since their clothes are a bit pricy, but I think on a rare occasion it is worth the splurge. read more

Okay, I TOTALLY resisted this place. I hate the weird name, I'm tired of everything seeing the logo, and basically this place represents everything I dislike about yoga and overly-into-yoga people. However, I was desperate for a sports bra, and the dismal assortment at See Jane Run didn't work for me. Not only did Lulumon have, easily, quadruple the inventory, but they also had things smartly marked and neatly displayed. Additionally, the service was great. I needed an alternate size while in the dressing room, and I had it in like 25 seconds. And the checkout person was very reassuring. (The return policy freaked me out, but she made me feel a little better.) All in all, this place seriously exceeded my expectations. (But I'm still not going to sport their friggin logo like a Lululemon lemming.) read more

I basically live in lululemon clothing. This store had the best customer service. They know me by name, greets me every time I'm in there, which is at least twice a month. If my son is with me, they entertain him with a basket of toys. Yes, it's quite pricey, but I love to work out, and I love to be in comfy clothes, so their stuff is a perfect marriage of both things i love. I've been in the walnut creek store since I live nearby, but they are not as attentive in the service department. They can also be a bit snooty, and they seem not to be as well stocked as the berkeley store. The stuff I want always get sold out fast or they just don't have it in. read more
