This time instead of exploring their packaged snack products I thought about how much room we have left in our car and flying it home so I decided against it. I did buy 3 of their small cup size Blue Bell dark chocolate ice cream- for all of us but the cashier gave only one spoon. It tasted so good I had hubs go get me a large size one since I didn't eat a normal lunch and it was past 5 pm. While I waited in the car with the grandpup. I wanted to find some Bucee items for Doc since she's been our road trip driver plus made all the arrangements for hotels, tickets to parks, dinner show, etc. We all got different things: hubs got small bags of jerky, Doc got her favorite brisket sandwich to share with her Frenchie, a sausage on a stick and 3 peach cobblers for each of us to try. I like the large amount of clean restroom stalls plus soap. The cone of warmed sugary pecans and cinnamon bites were a sweet snack- finally gone from the first Buc-ee's a week ago. Definitely not your typical dry, flavorless gas station. This chicken is crunchy, tender, and juicy. It's very reasonably priced. Sunny reached out to a customer, Alex (I'd post his last name but I didn't ask permission), at his store who graciously took time out of his own day to bring me gas where I was stuck on the highway. He did not have to do that; nor did Sunny have to ask anyone. There wasn't anything in it for them. They both showed their true kindness and are people that work to keep human kindness moving forward. I'm not in Lockhart very often but will definitely go to this gas station when I need gas or a drink.

However, in the event of an issue or malfunction, the clerks, or on-site management, are powerless to assist a customer that paid for a car wash outside of the store (at the kiosk before entering said car wash). It also seems that in the event of a fail to complete the wash cycle malfunction, operators are quick to attribute the malfunction to the driver. The instructions, as posted, were followed and yet, the malfunction still occurred. We called the number as posted on the sign, and received a voicemail. The number, as it turns out, is to some sort of main office in Brenham, and the recording was of such poor quality, I have no idea for whom I left the voicemail. No call-back has been received as of the time of this post.

I was on day three of being really sick, and I had gotten very little sleep that night because of all the sinus pain. I was blindly following the GPS and came upon this gas station/convenience store out in the middle of nowhere and decided to pull in at the rear of the place and sleep for a while. I don't even know if the place was open; it was still dark when I got there. I woke up and it was daylight. I needed something to drink, so I pulled around to the front of the place, parked crookedly and shuffled in. I saw they had breakfast tacos and realized I was hungry, too. I picked two random ones, bought them and left. One was brisket, the other was some mixture of eggs, potatoes, beans, bacon, sausage, cheese and whatever else they could think of to throw into it. The brisket didn't look great, so I set it aside and took a bite of the stuffed one. It was really, really good. So, I tried the brisket. Now, I have to say, if I bought a brisket plate and this is what they brought me, I'm not sure how I'd feel about it. But, as a taco (basically, just meat in a flour tortilla), it was absolutely delicious. I will say they were a bit on the pricey side. The two tacos and a 20 oz bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper was over $16. But, both of those tacos rank up there with the best I've had.

I was impressed by the modern interior, cleanliness, spacious aisles and the cold beer vault. The store basically sits in a residential neighborhood. If you're in the mood for some fried chicken or pizza they do have a kitchen which serves that up. They do have a small table inside and two more outside in case you'd like to dine there. Their gas prices were reasonable and they also sell propane tanks. This store is definitely worth stopping at and the photos below confirm it.
