This is one of the few places in San Antonio where Faygo and Shasta soft drinks can both be obtained. Cans of Shasta on ice, no less! How swanky! The space is used well, and you'd be hard pressed to find another local corner store with the inventory selection on par with any truck stop on I-35.

No, it doesn't have the SHEER square footage of the NB Buc-ee's, but it has nice clean plentiful bathrooms, a good assortment of snacks, drinks, useful trinkets, and toys, as well as a buy-at-the-counter deli with fresh hot food and many tables to sit and eat inside. Honestly, all our needs were more than met stopping here and it took probably less than half the time fighting the onslaught of cars/people always swarming like ants at Buc-ee's across the freeway on the weekends. If you find yourself in a similar conundrum (and don't have any beaver-related business needs), just come here instead! Also the Exxon pumps have tap to pay. Yay!

The air conditioning either wasn't working or was completely ineffective. The store was uncomfortably hot, and several employees appeared to be sweating heavily while working. The prices were another shock. I ended up spending far more than expected for just two drinks, which made the experience even more frustrating. I was also concerned by what I observed in the food service area. Employees were using their phones while working around food, and I did not see gloves being worn during food preparation. One food service employee, Abigail, seemed annoyed that I wanted to place an order. After seeing the condition of the food area and the lack of professionalism, I decided it wasn't worth purchasing food. Overall, the combination of excessive heat, high prices, questionable food handling practices, and poor customer service left a very negative impression. Management needs to address the air conditioning issue immediately and take a closer look at food safety standards and employee professionalism. I will not be returning and would encourage others to be aware of these issues before visiting.

The store is named after Harvey Edward Wuest, whose first store opened in the mid-20th century. The first thing that struck us about this convenience store was the cleanliness and spaciousness of the store. All areas of the convenience store had large placards helpful for zeroing in on what was in that specific area of the store. The store was extremely well-lit, making it super easy to find whatever you needed. To our surprise, we found Topo Chico Sabores Raspberry with Lemon Flavored Sparkling Water in a can, which we not tasted before...quite delicious. Our convenience store attendant was Texas friendly and offered a cup of ice with our water purchase. We gased up and headed home. It was a pleasant, quick stop.

This store is your perfect one-stop-shop for anything you need. They have a wide selection of snacks and beverages, including a very large walk-in fridge with beer. They also have two Blue Bell ice cream freezers, which I thought was pretty cool and perfect for our very hot Texas summers. They also have a nice selection of toiletries and other home items. Their bathroom are not the cleanest, but they are decent and have a baby changing station. The person working the cash register was super nice and very friendly. In the few minutes I was there I noticed he recognized a bunch of the people coming in and knew them by name, which I think is a sign of great customer service and probably a reason why all those folks keep coming back to this one gas station.

I went to put groceries in my trunk and noticed my tail light lens cover was completely missing! Traced my steps and figured out it was probably the car wash. Returned to the scene of the crime and lo and behold, there were the cracked pieces of my lens cover... along with the obligatory "we're not responsible" for anything disclaimer. BUYER BEWARE.
