After many years I finally made it Cafe Postal, and what have I been missing! This place is…read moreabsolutely goregous. They've really kept a lot of the historical elements and pay homage to the postal service. I had a skinny hot latte, and a bagel sandwich for breakfast. I co-worked at a large table for hours, and finished with a chicken pesto sandwich. Both the bagael sandwich and the pesto were great! Nothing tasted microwaved. It was very gourmet. The staff is super friendly and its overall pretty quiet even when busy. I cant wait to go back.

The staff is very friendly, and offered recommendations from the menu since I was unsure about what to choose. There was a variety of seating, and even an extra room full of chairs and beautiful natural lighting, complete with a view of the Durham! The setting is beautiful, classy, and upscale while being the perfect location to work. The music is relaxing as well, and I would love to have future study sessions here. I ordered the Orange Spice Tea Latte, and it was absolutely delicious. I loved the zest the orange added, while being milky and having the perfect amount of spice. It was absolutely delicious, and I would return simply for this. I also tried the Chive Biscuit Sandwich, which was a bit dry but otherwise good. The parking situation was not the most ideal, but to be expected in this part of Omaha. I was able to locate a spot but it was a tight squeeze and across on the bridge, but I would come again.

The Durham Museum

The Durham Museum

The Durham Museum is in the old Union Station. I'm glad they were able to preserve the building…read morebecause it really is spectacular. There are many permanent displays about Omaha history, and there are train cars you can walk through; enthusiastic docents are often there to answer any questions. There are temporary exhibits here as well, and in the summers they will have something cool that the whole family will enjoy. There are lots of programs here, many of them free with admission or membership. I do recommend getting a membership if you think you might want to come at least a couple times in a year. And you probably will want to! There is a soda fountain/snack bar area. The ice cream is great! The food is okay. It's a museum and not a lunch destination. The museum is located right next to Omaha's Old Market.

This was my second time visiting The Durham Museum, and it continues to impress. My first visit was…read moreduring a free event honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and this most recent trip was with a group for the "Negro Motorist Green Book" exhibit. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. The museum provided discounted tickets for our nonprofit group, communicated clearly throughout the planning process, and had a tour guide ready who found us right away. That level of organization and customer care made a big difference. The exhibit itself was powerful and deeply educational, highlighting the history of the Green Book and the realities African American travelers faced during segregation. Through artifacts, photographs, and personal stories, it sparked meaningful conversations--especially among our younger visitors. I also really appreciate the museum's intentionality around inclusivity and programming. You can feel that it's a space designed to educate and welcome a wide range of audiences. The museum itself is on the smaller side, with exhibits primarily on the lower level, which actually made it manageable for our group to move through at different paces. My kids love the super long train you can walk through and the nearby play area. Practical perks matter too--there's plenty of parking (a huge plus), and they even offer umbrella strollers to borrow, which is incredibly thoughtful for families. Overall, a meaningful, well-run experience that I would absolutely recommend--whether you're visiting on your own, with family, or as part of a group.

Completely suitable to host a huge wedding, FWIW. The decor includes local Italian culture and pictures of Italy proper. They have a huge kitchen. Restaurant sized. There's a bar on the opposite side of the building. Its events get popular quickly. We always arrive promptly now. The one time we came an hour into the event, the line was across the long parking lot and down the street. It moved quickly enough, though, and we met plenty of very friendly, cheerful folks. Do bring cash, or pray that the ATM inside hasn't been used up! It's a cash feed to get in, and a cash bar. I find this to be of no inconvenience, as they declare this when announcing their events, and happy patrons, like me, further that detail. Well worth the visit. It's a delightful Omaha institution.

I had a terrible surgery and I have lost a lot of weight and nothing tastes very good, except Sons of Italy. God Bless you guys. Shout out to all of the great guys down there. They look like they are having fun. I don't want to give away any of my secrets for parking, but I can always manage to get parked and get my order. I'm getting hungry, just thinking about it. Check out their hours and days, that they serve. Best in Omaha..

And with like-minded people around you, Dry Spokes is a great place for this in the presence of good company. I commend the owners for making this establishment happen. The bar is very chic and cozy, with plenty of space for intimate as well as large gatherings. And the drinks are fantastic - one made such an impact on me that I'm trying to recreate it at home! Kudos to the bartenders who were super friendly and humored our many non-alcoholic noob questions! Until next time

They currently also have the space next door that they use as an event venue (such as open mic the Saturday evening we were there), but that place is available for lease. The decor is nice as well - simple, but cozy with a few couches and some board/card games. Their mocktail menu is huge! There are definitely options to fit every palate. I opted for Collin's Bouquet and Cotton Candy. Both were very good and would highly recommend both. One of the drinks my husband got, the Coconut Cherry Kiss, however, was absolutely delicious! I think it was both of our favorites and one I would get for myself next time for sure. The NA cocktails are definitely not an afterthought here and neither are they just juice full of sugar and more sugar. These are well thought out, have flavor outside of just sweet, and overall are a very good option for anyone who is opting not to drink alcohol, but still doesn't want to miss out on the fun! I'm excited to come back!
