While Maui and I take long walks together, I feel it's important for her to be part of a pack. When Maui goes off with Sam, I know she's with an experienced dog handler who creates a well-balanced pack. My other dog, Ester, isn't ready for Pack Walks yet, but I've needed boarding for both her and Maui. Sam's knowledge of training and understanding of dogs has helped integrate Ester into the pack. Every time Ester comes home with Maui, she's more balanced and better off. Sam's expertise and dedication have made a significant difference for both of my dogs. Highly recommended!

We absolutely love Sam! Our very active Husky/Shepard mix, River, first fell in love with Sam…read morealmost two years ago. We knew we had to keep her engaged and entertained during the day to supplement her regular morning workouts. What we got when we entrusted her to Sam was so much more than we could have dreamed at the time. Sam not only kept River active and entertained, but she taught River, and us, the importance of boundaries. The owner/pet relationship is so crucial and built upon trust and respect. Sam helped us with instruction and tips on how we could foster these within our own relationship and tailored it our girl because she had the direct experience handling River. Each time that River goes out on adventures with Sam she comes home exhausted. We know she's had a good time and it's clear how much she trusts and loves Sam. We are regularly provided access to their adventures via photos posted to Instagram. Sam puts personal touches on all the posts, it really means a lot. We could not ask for a better person to trust the care of our very special family member to. We've referred Sam to friends and strangers alike. You will not be disappointed and will receive far more than you pay for. River gives her 5 stars and two paws up!

My family and I make the trip to Legoland yearly and we don't have to do too much before hand…read more. book room, buy tickets, rent car etc etc. However this past June we became Furparents to an adorable anxiety ridden codependent dog who can't be alone for long. Granted she is much better then when we first got her but we've already been told she has too much anxiety for daycare with tons of dogs. We have to figure out who's going to watch her now that we basically didn't get approved for the boarding services. I did alot of research and stumbled across Simply sensational and the constant communication even before I agreed to ask for their services made me feel extremely comfortable. I let them know we needed a sitter for one day , a couple of hours while we where at legoland and it was so easy to book with them. We agreeded on a time and a handoff location. The moring of we where so nervous for her and how she would react, would she run away, would she bite, would she howl all day for us? The complete opposite actually, our feelings where hurt because when I say we handed our Emi over and she walked away and didn't even look back, literally did not look back!!! lol. Off to legoland we go I suppose, not to long after we received an update from Debroah on Emi on how sweet she was and what a good dog she was. and throughout the day we received updates and pictures on what silly and sweet girl she is lt made us proud of being her parents, considering where the level of her anxiety was when we first adopted her to feeling secure in herself to be with strangers and feel safe with them. I was so pleased I made the right choice to go small and independent business. When it was time to pick up Emi several hours later we weren't even sure she'd want to come home with us but she was indeed happy to see us and we heard story on her walks in the neighborhood and how well she got along with all the new dogs she met and it was the start of what I hope to be a long standing relationship of our new dog sitters whenever we are in San Diego. I speak highly about them to everyone who asked how our springbreak and who took care of Emi? I urge you to give them a chance, you won't regret it nor will your dog, and my only warning is your dog may NOT want to go home with you at the end of the day Payment: cash or Zelle

He has shown us what cues to look for and how to get the best out of our dogs while using firm and loving methods. Essentially, he teaches us how to motivate our dogs to want to do the exercises. He has wonderful follow up, as well, and doesn't push anything but rather encourages. It has been a wonderful experience and we will work with Fernando again after we've had time to practice what we learned. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in effective, long lasting training practices and strengthening your understanding of your fur babies. Thank you, Fernando!!

We've been working with Fernando to train our rescue dog, Cowboy, and I can't recommend him enough!…read more From the very first session, Fernando has been incredibly communicative, patient, and professional. He took the time to really understand Cowboy's personality and our specific goals. We're currently focusing on preventing "door dashing," improving basic obedience, and walking nicely on a leash -- and we're already seeing major progress! One of the things I appreciate most is Fernando's flexibility with in-home scheduling. It's made the training process so much more manageable for our family. He explains everything clearly and always gives us practical tools and homework that are easy to follow between sessions. Cowboy is responding so well to Fernando's calm, consistent approach, and we feel much more confident as dog owners thanks to his guidance. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, helpful, and reliable dog trainer, Fernando is your person!

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Gonzalo. We came to him when we brought home…read moreJuni, our Doberman puppy, knowing we needed someone who understood working dogs and he delivered. He's helped us become better, more informed dog owners and make sure we're meeting Juni's physical and mental needs, not just teaching her commands. The results speak for themselves: she has off-leash freedom we honestly didn't think was possible, walks nicely on leash, and has good manners with guests. We also did a board and train while we were on vacation, and she came back sharper than ever. What makes Gonzalo stand out is how much he gets dogs. He doesn't have a one-size-fits-all approach. He talks about different training methods and helps you figure out what works for your specific dog's temperament. The biggest thing we took away is how much mindset and thresholds matter. A lot of trainers we looked into were focused purely on obedience with treats (sit, down, stay) in low-distraction settings, with no real plan for when your dog is stressed or overstimulated. Gonzalo pushed us to proof those skills at higher levels and hold our very smart but airheaded dog to higher standards, and because of that, Juni is pretty dang reliable out in the real world. We've since moved to LA and we will still make the drive to San Diego to see him. Highly, highly recommend.

We had an introductory phone call and within just a few minutes I knew I found the right trainer. He was kind, patient, and supportive... not just with my dog, but with me as well. He made it clear that training is just as much about teaching the owner as it is about teaching the dog. He was tough and direct when needed, which I really appreciated. It held me accountable and helped me understand how my own habits were affecting my dog. He balanced that "tough love" with genuine care, encouragement, and always provided clear explanations that were easy to apply at home... and trust me, he'll know if you aren't doing the reps at home. But how could you not when you see how much he cares and truly wants to help?! I never experienced issues with my dog in the 6 years I've had him, so I was beyond discouraged before I started working with Gonzalo. In the last four months, my dog has grown so much in confidence and behavior, and I've grown as an owner. I now see that training doesn't just stop, so I will continue to work with Gonzalo and make sure to recommend him to anyone looking for help.

She respected all of our ways (we don't allow our dog on the furniture) and even taught him a trick! We will definitely return and I would highly recommend her for anyone else with a mellow dog like our boy.

We had already gone through 1 basic training class through Petco to socialize her, and then another private trainer who just sucked the money out of us with no result. We did not want to give up on our sweet girl, so I did my research and felt optimistic starting with John. Our first session showed how anxious she was and her lack of confidence. As we progressed, she loved being a part of the pack with his 2 sweet, large German shepherds who accompany John himself. Throughout our sessions, Nala learned better loose leash walking, more efficient sits, down, became more comfortable around other dogs, and developed confidence. We also learned which training collar works best in lieu of a harness, ALL without using treats. It's tried and true. Overall, we were able to have an ongoing dialogue about how to acclimate her to stressful situations and what not to do. She is a changed dog due to the consistent training methods we witnessed and learned. John is very understanding and wants the best for your furry friend, no matter their history. She will never be 100% in terms of her personality, but we got her dang near a 90% and you would never know her past. Give him a try!
