a bar with stools and wine glasses

This place has been on my wishlist since I moved to St. Albert. Easy to find if you use Google Maps. Some hidden parking if you go down side streets but the street parking was full when I went Tuesday at 6PM. Restaurant was 90% full at this time, but apparently that was because a lot of people come here for dinner before a show at the Arden theatre. Place was only 40% full at 7:30PM when we left. Waiter was very friendly, never let our waters go empty and made us feel welcome and not rushed. Wasn't too loud even with everyone in there so was a great space to talk. Decor was pretty simple and nothing really stood out. Nice classy, up-scale feeling place. I got the gnocchi. The pork sausage was excellent - not too spicy but nice to have a protein in the dish. The gnocchi were plentiful, perfectly cooked. The sauce was very delicious and I wish there was 20% more. Overall really tasty! My friend got the Al Tartufo pizza. Was enough for 2 people with smaller appetites. Crust was cooked perfectly. Very tasty and creamy with all the cheese.

Chicken Parmesan meal with pasta and veggies

Wanted to celebrate our Anniversary with a dinner out, but Covid changed our plans slightly, but it turned out to be one of the best dinners ever! Ordered from Luisa's for the first time ever dining there and it was a wonderful experience. When I first called to place my order, they asked what time I would be picking up as they only allow one person in at a time. And they completely disinfect everything after each guest leaves (door handles, debit machine, counters, etc). After placing my order, he described the process of entering the restaurant, where to park at the back and the cleaning process, which I appreciated greatly. For our evening out, I ordered a side cesar salad, bread basket, lasagne and the chicken parmesan that they had for the special that evening. We took our meals to Lion's Park and had a lovely picnic instead of bringing the meals home. Our salad was a perfect sharing size and tasted great. The bread for the bread basket was a bit dry, but would have been perfect for bruschetta. So we'll make french toast with it at home. :) My spouse's lasagne must have weighed 5 pounds! The portion was huge and really delicious! The perfect combination of meat, pasta, sauce and cheese! I had the chicken parmesan special, which was a huge chicken breast marinaded over night, topped with italian meats (I don't remember exactly which ones...sorry...), sauce and cheese. It came with a large serving of pasta that had been tossed in butter, garlic and parmesan. I could only eat half of the chicken and pasta because it was so large. But that means leftovers for supper tonight! The owner, Ed, and I had a lovely conversation while I was picking up our meal and he was very nice to deal with. Overall, our dinner was amazing and we can't wait to go back. Either for another pick up, or to dine in! Thank you Luisa's Ristorante staff and owners for a great anniversary supper, Covid style!

Warm olives and house-made sausage

We had a wonderful meal here for a birthday celebration. We were greeted warmly with bday cards on the table (which was so sweet!). Everyone introduced themselves, the menu was thoroughly explained, very attentive and friendly throughout our entire night without being annoying- 10/10 service! The food was excellent, we started with fried mozzarella, warm olives and sausage (made in house), bruschetta, and fried cauliflower. Everything was perfect. The lasagna- excellent, the short rib cannelloni - excellent, veal parmigiana - excellent. No skimping on the meat, quality ingredient, you can tell they take care with their food and it isn't just slapped together. Desserts were great but not exceptional - would skip the tiramisu but the cheesecake trio was very good. Espresso martinis were fantastic. Ambiance is nice - it's a small space, and they have done what they can with it. Seriously, their washrooms are so spotless which is something I rarely see in any restaurant. Please go support this lovely local business!

Just tried this amazing restaurant. New owners and it still is a family run business. Food is fresh and locally sourced. They will try to accommodate you if they can especially if you have food sensitivities. I mentioned I cannot have wheat, rice or corn pasta and Ed the owner went and got me quinoa... wow!! My photos are not that great as we were digging in before realizing we need to take some pictures.

We got the tomato, mushroom and brie bruschetta. Mushroom one had goat cheese which I dislike but other table mates said was delicious. Tomato one was good. Brie was my favorite. Not easy to share with the table which made it very awkward and not everyone got to try some. You can cut them into about 3 pieces which still left 1 of us not being able to try it. I got the Spaghetti Carbonara: 9/10. Very good, pasta was cooked well, there was enough sauce. Good flavor. Boyfriend got the special which was cheese stuffed ravioli in rose sauce - 10/10. Loved that it comes with extra protein (chicken). Friend got Veal Scaloppine: very garlic-y. Friends said she would not get again. But very generous portion of vegetables - broccolini, peppers, carrots. And the half of a baked potato came with cheese baked on top which looked amazing. Friend got the lasagna and loved it, reports it is not spicy and has a lot of meat (ground) in it. They brought over a free chocolate mousse dessert with a sparkler as well. Overall very nice pasta place.

I called and was quoted 22min which I thought was quite long but it took me that long to get there anyway. There was lots of 2 hour street parking available. Very nice decor inside - fancy, classy, romantic would be how I would describe the decor. The restaurant was completely empty at 5PM although they did just open at 4:30PM. My order was ready when I arrived (20min later). I got the Arancini appetizer, Gnocchi entree, and Tartufo (choc + raspberry ice cream) dessert all for ~$40. The food survived the 11 minute drive home (even the ice cream). The Arancini was delicious - like a deep-fried risotto ball should be. I liked that it came with a touch of tomato sauce which gave it a nice acidic kick. The gnocchi were larger than I expected and therefore hard to eat in 1 bite so I had to try to cut each one before eating. Not the best I have ever had. I got it with the rose sauce which was nice but nothing special. Creamy but not a lot of flavour. The tartufo was promising - like a black forest cake but ice cream style. Too bad it had such a miniscule amount of raspberry. 95% chocolate ice cream; which was good chocolate ice cream for sure but not enough acidic to balance out all the sweet for me. Place and menu look great and promising but unfortunately, I was underwhelmed for the price and can't see myself back anytime soon.

I was…read morecovering for a friend, and the older male server charged me $80 more than he was supposed to. With the tip, I was overcharged a total of over $200. I realized afterwards, when my friends pointed it out. We tried to get our servers attention. As we were trying to confirm that we got overcharged by asking for an itemized receipt, he proceeded to give us an attitude for a mistake that he had made. We told him about the overcharge, and he proceeded to tell me that he will just cancel the order and it will go back into my card. He KNEW that I was using tap as payment. It took a month to get my money back. He then charged me the correct price again, with the assumption that the $200+ will be sent back to my account. During this time, I was short of $200+ because of this restaurant. The process of getting the money back was difficult. I called this location's manager, a woman, who thought it was necessary to give me a dismissive and rude attitude. I told her that I lost $200+ because of their server, in which she immediately told me that they, "Checked and the refund was issued back to me." Without asking any questions that would have helped confirm this claim that they refunded me or refund me properly. Then, I asked her, AFTER she told me that, to "Check any payments with the last 4 digits of my debit card." In which she said, "Yes I can check that." She gave me all that attitude and dismissiveness, told me that they definitively issued a refund, just to confirm to me that she never checked the system to find the last 4 digits. She then came back and informed me that she couldn't access the system from her end, she had to wait for the manager, above her, to visit that location. Again, how can she definitively tell me that they issued me a refund without checking if my debit card, or any number with tap, was in the system that she had no access to? Before this phone call, when I called this restaurant multiple times, I NEVER told them my last 4 digits, nor did they ask. So I don't know how she came to that conclusion that they've checked, other than being fueled by her entitled and dismissive attitude, which was about to cost me $200+. The general manager then emailed me, more than a week after I gave my email to them, to issue me a refund by transferring the money, confirming that because of the tap (which the server clearly saw that I paid with), cancelling the payment won't give me the refund. P.S. Time, nor a refund, is not an NDA to talk about my experience with this location and this staff's dismissiveness and attitude they gave me for OVERCHARGING ME. The server and the manager, or employee, that I called and talked to treated my $200+ as $5 and I was being hysterical for asking for MY money back. The refund is the bare minimum for the respect I should've received. I was in much mental distress because of their negligence and rude attitude on the matter, treating my money as if it's $5, as I'm not able to afford much vacations and not wealthy AT ALL.

Place has "very fancy" feel and would be good for special events/celebration dinners. Free bread to start was fine but not the best I have had. I prefer mine with butter but the oil/vinegar is probably more typical. We tried the: Calamari: 10/10, great texture, loved that we got 2 sauces to dip in. Fettuccine Tavolino (cheese wheel pasta): 10/10. Boyfriend was not too full after. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Nice cheesy creamy flavor. Ravioli Alla Zucca: 9/10, I can't remember if there were 6 or 7 ravioli in the dish. Very pleasing presentation. In my opinion too many sundried tomatoes. I love that it comes with sundried tomatoes as that added some great tang/flavor. Ravioli themselves were perfectly cooked. Brown butter sauce was excellent and wanted more. Creme Brule: 9/10, exactly as expected, definitely enough to share between 2 people. Affogato: vanilla gelato was 11/10 good to me but boyfriend didn't like the flavor. We both agree the espresso was excellent. Very small portion (too small to share!). Free cookies at the end were fine. Overall food was excellent and I'll be back but to try something different on the menu.

The complimentary bread was great, the martini's good although one glass had far more than the other. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese, and although quite different from what we make at home, was excellent! K had the Alfredo flambé which was fired up tableside. It seems to be a popular option as it happened 6 or 7 times while we dined. They also don't soak you for the privilege of the tableside presentation. It was a little cheesy for K, but excellent nonetheless. Our server Eugenia from Hamburg was excellent, she can serve us anytime. She was attentive, and her timing was exceptional! We plan on making a reservation the next time we are in Edmonton. Top notch experience!
