While I was in the salon with two other customers, the stylist, and Joao (the owner), he decided it would be appropriate to scold the stylist for accepting a walk in haircut appointment 30 minutes before she had a scheduled appointment with someone else. Like, do you not want business, Joao? Would you prefer the stylist not care about customers and rudely turn her away for no reason? The stylist apologized for the delay, and the other customer was totally fine with it. No one was upset, except Joao. He continued berating her unnecessarily, making the situation much more dramatic than it should have been, until she broke down in tears and explained to him that she felt really humiliated by the way he was talking to her (which just seemed to fuel him further, he just kept going). It was such an awkward situation, and so so surreal. It was like he didn't care that there were 3 paying customers in the room who didn't really want to watch him making a talented hair stylist who was doing nothing wrong cry...actually, I think he even liked it! He was smiling; it was very disturbing. Really, there are so many good salons in Boston. Salons that will at least offer you some tea or coffee while you wait for your $65-80 haircut. And you can drink that tea or coffee in an actual waiting room! Salon JLS is a no-frills, unclassy salon with no waiting area that charges the same as a nice salon that DOES have the frills. It doesn't even feel like pampering at Salon JLS; not worth it! *especially when they don't take responsibility for their actions. Don't you want to go to a nice salon where they treat everyone with respect and say sorry when they mess up? Just saying.

So the nail polish on my fingers peeled off like paper. Ive done my nails at home, with regular…read morenail polish and they have lasted up to two weeks. Thats longer than the 2 days it lasted. Tried to get more money out of me to use the gel instead of regular polish. I think its because they knew the regular polish is of very poor quality. Absolutely never coming back. I was given bad quality service for the price i paid.
