Baked penne and meatball. Delicious!
Debbie G.

I keep going back and forth on my review. One thing to note, the fried ravioli appetizer is spicy, like jalapeño flavor. I wish the menu stated this or the server told us. Too spicy for me. I ordered the daily special. Pasta, chicken, asparagus, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, shaved Parmesan cheese with a garlic olive oil sauce. It was boring. No flavor, hardly any parm cheese and no sun dried tomatoes. My hubby got the stuffed shells and it was really good! He ordered a side of meatball and sausage but there was no sauce. Just odd. He had to ask for extra sauce. The cheesy garlic bread and minestrone soup are yummy. Some delicious meals and some meals eh. I will be back. I just need to stick with the baked penne and meatball. Always good service.

Espresso Martini

I was in town for a couple of weeks and this spot was suggested to me by the homeowners. I ventured over and it was clearly marked to go to the bar first - whether choosing to eat at the bar or a table. You always order at the bar, and it will be delivered to your table if you choose to sit in the dining room. I sat at the bar by my lonesome and loved chatting with the friendly servers. We talked about local spots I should check out to what podcasts we liked. I ordered an espresso martini and it was perfect (the bartender had a tattoo of it on her arm!) All the entrees come with a cup of soup or a salad with a piece of garlic bread. I started with an order of cheesy garlic bread (come on, one piece without cheese wasn't going to cut it). That was delicious! I chose the minestrone and the Nico pasta entree. This was a perfectly al dente penne pasta in white wine, cream, and marinara sauce. It included Italian sausage and I added some peas to it as well. I brought some home - very generous portions! The kicker? I was in Manitowoc for ten days and came back to Luigi's three times. I got the same thing each time (switched up the soups) - it was THAT good.

Food was alright. Nothing overly special. Had the fried fish. Standard flavor factory made not fresh. Serving size 2 pieces.

Their other location in Two Rivers does a great job, but I think they are trying some different ideas here and might be working out some kinks with new staff right now. One example is the changing menus. On Saturday Night they do a Steak Night with a limited menu. I have to admit, my wife and I came in to try their pizza and it wasn't on the menu on a Saturday. We decided to stay and eat off their Saturday Menu, but we did see two tables of people come in, look at the menu and leave. Not good! The steak menu was priced (approx) $30-40, and I think it was a bit of a shock when you come in for a burger and fries or pizza! They also change their menus on Tuesday and Wednesday. All seems a bit confusing, but once the regulars are developed it probably won't be as big a problem. Right now, I'd say check their menu on Facebook be for you come in. Tonight we ordered the Smothered Chicken and the Ribeye Sandwich along with an Onion Ring Appetizer. The rings were a little overdone and kind of heavy with oil. Good size, but would only order them again if I knew they wouldn't be overcooked. The Smothered Chicken was on of tonight's "specials", so it wasn't in the written menu. The waitress should have told us it was Cajun Spiced when she shared the specials (my wife doesn't like Cajun). Would have definitely ordered something else. The bun on the Ribeye Sandwich was excellent. The steak was very tender, but maybe too tender. It just seemed that it was missing the normal texture expected in steak. Also, they don't have A1 Steak Sauce (which would have been great with this sandwich) which I thought was weird, especially since it was "steak night"! The only sauce they had was mayo based. They do something I've not seen before with the bill. They add the tax to each individual item before they total the bill. Confusing when trying to figure out the tip. I did find a price error on one of my items, which they corrected when I pointed it out. (Onion Rings were listed at $7 , but he computer picked them at $8.33). Probably a programming error or a menu misprint, either way, they fixed it!

THEN I had LOBSTER ! The chef made it so perfect, tender, like char grilled flavorful even. Better than ANY Red lobster (not putting Red lobster down ) WOW, I decided to tip HER too, the Chef!!! Seriously one of Manitowoc's best newer, classy but comfortable nice restaurants. Check em out, support their small business. Also, come summertime, they have outdoor seating available, TVs for watching sports, everything under the sun (nearly). Blessings to all!

Pizza Garden - 12 inch veggie pizza

The folks who own the Garden did a really nice job of renovating an old store into a very nice restaurant. Seating at the bar, along the windows, in a couple of booths, or in the back room. There is a television at every angle. But the star here is the pizza. The crust and sauce are very good, nice spice level. They are generous with their toppings which results in a very satisfying pizza. We had the artichoke dip as an appetizer. Along with a 12 inch pizza and we were happily full. Service was great, attentive but not obtrusive. Between salads, various appetizers and a myriad of veggie pizza combos a vegetarian can fare well here. Very trippy game room...tres outre! Good food and nice ambiance makes for a pleasant experience. Check it out. You'll be glad you did.

I had 5 left and could not eat another bite. They weren't all that spicy. It's just a lot to eat. It was a fun challenge and the wings were good. I question if they were really wings or chicken tenders. They were huge for boneless wings.

But ignore the lack of ambiance and come for the tasty food. Their pizza is not the upscale wood-fired delicacy you'll find at pricey Italian pizza restaurants (my favorite); rather, it is the heaping toppings of cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, etc. delicacy (also a favorite). You want to eat this dine-in to enjoy the mouth watering flavor fresh out of the oven (or eat a slice in the car before leaving the parking lot).

Luckily we went on a slow nite and had good separation from the other folks in the restaurant or we would have gotten up and left immediately. In summation if you are into good pizza and have no concerns with Covid this place will probably fit the bill for you. But if you are safety minded relative to Covid I would suggest either take out only or too seek a different establishment. Rated food as four stars but lowered rating to two stars based lack of safety precautions relative to Covid.
