I showed up for a service that we received a coupon for in the mail and was told they could not honor without the physical coupon... while waiting I looked up coupons on their company website and found them, when I asked the service guy why he didn't let me know they were available since I didn't bring the one they sent me I was told, "yes we can honor that" but you wouldn't volunteer to tell me that to help me out? Then the manager said he would honor the coupon I received in the mail after I was visibly upset, no thank you, took my car for service elsewhere, customer service is nonexistent anymore, its all about taking your money! read more

We visited Lugoff Toyota to review their inventory and identified a used Sequoia that we were prepared to purchase. We were assigned to Scott Cooper, the Internet Manager. We clearly communicated that we wanted to buy the vehicle. That message was ignored. Over several days, we sent multiple follow-up messages. We called repeatedly, sent emails, and sent text messages. When we requested to work with a different salesperson, we were told we could not because we were already assigned to someone. Our explanation that the assigned salesperson was completely unresponsive was disregarded. When we finally made contact, we asked basic, routine questions that any buyer would reasonably expect answers to (warranty information, Carfax availability, etc.). Those questions also went unanswered or were delayed with no explanation. After more than two weeks of attempting to buy a vehicle, we made zero progress. We then contacted another dealership with a similar vehicle. In a single phone call lasting less than 15 minutes, we received all the information we had been requesting for weeks at Lugoff Toyota, negotiated a fair price, and completed the purchase. We were cash buyers. No trade-in. No financing. No complications. The sale should have been simple. Instead, Lugoff Toyota's lack of communication, professionalism, and basic customer service made it impossible to do business with them. This was the most frustrating and unprofessional car dealership experience we have ever had. The salesperson failed to provide basic vehicle information and failed to return calls, emails, or texts in any reasonable timeframe -- if at all. Over two weeks of our time was completely wasted. We will not return to Lugoff Toyota and cannot recommend them. Potential customers should proceed with caution. ONE STAR - FRAUD, THEFT, AND THREATS - Stay Far Away from Lugoff Toyota DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM LUGOFF TOYOTA. I am warning everyone -- this dealership is dishonest, unethical, and borderline criminal in how they treat customers. I walked into Lugoff Toyota on July 5, 2025, with all the documents needed to buy a car: bank statements, proof of self-employment income, commission check, proof of residence, etc. I test drove a car, picked my model, and signed what I was told was "preliminary paperwork." On July 7, I came back, signed the remaining documents, got the keys to a 2025 Toyota Corolla, and was told the contract would be emailed to me; I was suspect because normally you get that before leaving the dealer, and I should have know then. I didn't get the contract until I asked for it to be emailed two months later, when they suddenly told me I had to return the car. Turns out that the dealership had falsified income that I didn't give them on the bank application, submitted that false info to the bank, and withheld the documents I gave them to prove my income. I confirmed on two recorded calls with the lender that they never received bank statements, my commission statement, or any info I was asked to bring for verification. They never filed my registration or title, meaning I was unknowingly driving an uninsured, unregistered car for over a month, which also meant I put insurance on a car I didn't own, nor was in my name, putting me at risk in many ways with law enforcement and legal action if an accident occurred. Then "Ira" demanded I return the car, but refused to give me back my $3,000 down payment, saying they needed to check the cars mileage and inspect it first, then I may receive a portion of the down payment back; they acted like they were doing me a favor. I had to dispute the charge with my bank, submit all the proof, and thankfully, I won, because the evidence clearly showed they committed fraud and misrepresentation. They had no right to hold on to my down payment as it was intended for the finance company, not them and by law it must be returned. But the nightmare didn't end there! They had a lawyer (Ben) contact me via email trying to make me return the car without the guarantee that I would be refunded my down payment. I advised that I would not return the car unless they could guarantee my refund and I further advised him that it would be illegal for me to drive a car that's not registered in my name or have insurance, due to their inability to process the paperwork properly and timely. I advised them to come get the car and let me know when they have scheduled to do so. You think they did that. I woke up one morning and the car was gone. I thought it was stolen and called the cops, they checked to see if a repo order was put in after letting them know the situation, because by law every repo has to be reported. You guessed, no repo reported to the officer wrote up a stolen vehicle report. I found out they took the car days later when I got a text saying "thank you for checking the car into the service shop" I called service and that's when I found out they had the car. When they took the car back I had items I had purchased from the store still in the trunk. They kept over $100 worth of my personal items and refuse to return them. When I called to ask for my belongings, Ira, the sales manager, told me to call the same lawyer who threatened me via email about returning the car. Now I have to go through a lawyer to retrieve my own property? That's theft. That's illegal! These people are thieves, plain and simple. Lugoff Toyota doesn't care about people. They will lie, cheat, and threaten you to cover up their own mistakes. If you're reading this, please take your business anywhere else. This place is a financial trap and a legal nightmare. Visit another dealer to purchase your car, I would never send anyone to this dealer. This is your warning! read more

Found a 2013 Toyota Corolla on social media Saturday 4-8-2023 I reached out to the dealership for more pictures of the inside of the car and under the hood because the website only posted 4 external photos. I specifically asked if their used cars went through a 100 plus point inspection and the sales rep said yes. After reviewing the photos you can obviously tell the vehicle did NOT go through an inspection. I mean there was acid pouring out of the battery and the car was just filthy under the hood so I called the sales rep and informed him. He responded by saying, maybe this hasn't gone through the process since we just received it. He said he would get on it. Following day was Easter Sunday. Monday 4-10 comes I text and call the sales rep. He tells me the vehicle is in the shop and detailing so I told him to call me when ready and I would drive an hour to take a look. Never heard back. Tuesday 4-11 comes. I text and call again. Sales rep is off today so I talk to the sales manager who investigates it and tells me the vehicle is $15124.00, I told him how did you suspiciously have a $2000.00 increase in price? The price Saturday, Sunday and Monday was $12995.00. He would investigate and find out what's going on. Well what do you know . Someone put a deposit on the car. So the vehicle was never inspected. DO NOT GO HERE AND BUY A CAR ! I bought a 2014 Kia Forte from them A MONTH AGO and the same EXACT day I bought it I got a ticket for my back break light being out. Take it to get fixed and there's some wiring that was wrong because someone at the dealership tried to change something and did it wrong. Paid for that to be fixed , out of pocket. Got a flat and went to fix it and apparently both my tire pressure sensors on the right are shot. So I have to spend $120 to buy new sensors and pay for someone to change it. I called them and they're basically saying there's nothing they can do. This is my first car, bought it myself and was super proud now I'm just frustrated with it and the lack of care coming from the dealership. Please take your money elsewhere. My grandson bought a used Chevy Malibu from them which is push button start. By far one of my worst experiences in car buying that I have had. I say that with someone that has *incredibly* low expectations of car dealerships, with a few notable exceptions. When we arrived we were greeted with a huge degree of....blah? The young lady didn't seem very interested in speaking with us, and as we sat down we were further underwhelmed by her approach. I explained that we had reviewed their website and were interested in looking at a few specific cars. She nodded and then proceeded to ask us "what kind of cars we were looking for." Great listening... This gets better. They did have one of the cars we were looking at, and they brought it out. 2014 Chevy Malibu. We did a test drive and the AC was broken. It's 100 degrees outside folks, what in God's green earth were these people thinking. When we got back, the "senior sales manager" met us at the door, and when I told him that the AC was out he stated he was aware of this. So, to put this in perspective, their sales rep let us test drive a car, in midday, that was incredibly hot, without AC and without TELLING us there was no AC. Finally, the guy told us he could repair the compressor for $1200....on their car. No thanks. This place meets all the requirements for a used car dealership, with the bad attitude and lack of customer service. Never had someone be less interested in my money. Fun part about all this is that I am buying a new Ford truck here next month, and will absolutely be avoiding the Lugoff Automotive Group, so that's two sales lost. read more

16 August 2020 RE: Toyota Prius On 17 July 2020, I took my 2011 Toyota Prius to Lugoff Toyota because my car was running bad. I advised them of CODES that was on my computer, which were; P0300 - Random Multiple Misfire and P0303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire. With these codes, I changed the spark plugs and coil myself, which did not fix the problem ($$$). The engine light WAS NOT ON, as indicated on Invoice. I was informed that there was an issue with the Toyota Prius, which was common knowledge. Of course, I was not happy when I received the information/call, but I when in to pay the bill/invoice. To make a long story short; they needed to call in a Specialist had to be brought in to help troubleshoot the problem since the parts used did not fix the problem. I was told that the Specialist asked, "did anyone checked the fuel". Upon checking the fuel, the fuel determined to be dirty fuel or water in the tank. In my opinion, I should not have been responsible for new parts the parts replaced weren't the problem. I didn't need--the labor and miscellaneous charges would have avoided if a simple check of the fuel would have solved the problem. I trusted that the experts would know the answers; I am sure this isn't the first time dealing with this issue. I was informed that they see this about ten times a year. It seems someone would have a check that first, it needs to be added in the first troubleshooting task. The parts were $602.51, labor $767.00, and MISC charges were $63.94 and tax $50.60 with a total bill of $1452.08. I do not recommend this business to anyone. When attempting to question the charges and a reduction due to the oversight, I was told, "you could file these charges with your insurance company." That is not the fix I was expecting. Again, think twice before using Lugoff Toyota. I regret that I may have to find a different dealership to take care of my vehicle. I am starting to understand why people work on their cars at home. I wish I had read some of the bad reviews of Lugoff Toyota before wasting my time. I had a similar experience that others have written about. The truck that I was interested in purchasing was advertised on their website at one price, but when I showed up to make a deal they added an extra $2,000 to the price for an "Accessory Package". I was told this was already installed on the truck and could not be removed. This was my second trip to the dealership to talk about his truck, and at no point was this "Accessory Package" or the extra cost mentioned until we sat down to talk about price. After much discussion around this extra cost, negotiations broke down when they said they "MAY" be able to sell me the truck at the price they advertised on their web site. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be a common practice at this dealership. I consider it unethical to misrepresent the price of a vehicle just to get someone to make the trip, only to waste their time by upping the price when they get there. If I were you I would stay away from this place. You can find the deal you want somewhere else and feel good about not supporting a dishonest business. If you do find yourself looking at a vehicle here, do yourself a favor and ask about any "Accessory Package" before making the trip. read more

After purchasing our truck we got home and hooked it to our trailer and the running lights did not work. We called and talked to Jordan who told us to bring it in. Jordan and Dave worked on our truck for 2 1/2 days also taking the time to let us know how things were going and what they had found. Their intent was to go the extra mile make everything right so that we could start our travels. I went to Lugoff Toyota because of a listing for a car that I found on the internet. I filled out a short form to have someone contact me about the car in the ad. A few days later, I received a call from Cory and he told me the car was still available and that I could see it any time. I told him I wanted to see it a couple of hours from then and he told me to look for him when I get there. Unfortunately, when I got there, the car was not there. It turns out it had been loaned out to another customer and would not be back anytime sooner than that afternoon. Needless to say, I was quite upset that I had driven about forty miles to see this car that Cory had contacted me about and he failed to mention that it wasn't even on the lot! I told him I was done with his dealership and walked away. While in the parking lot, I was stopped by another salesperson named Walter Treimann and his boss, Ralph. They both managed to get me to calm down but I still didn't want to buy a car from their dealership. I thanked them and left. Walter called me back about an hour later and told me that he had the car back at their lot and he would appreciate me giving them another chance. He was very polite and seemed very apologetic about the earlier incident and I returned to the dealership. Walter and Ralph worked very hard to regain my trust and as a result, I bought the car in question and Walter even drove to my house the following day to personally deliver the check that was made out for my trade-in. He also returned some items I had forgotten in my car when I cleaned it out. As a result of Walter's perseverance and integrity, I am glad I returned to give them my business. During my recent experience with Lugoff Toyota, I have to admit I was blown away! After filling out a short form on the internet inquiring about a car, I was responded to promptly, and in a timely matter. I was able to come in to view just a few days later, and the hospitality was second to none. Everyone was very forthcoming and respectful. My experience didn't result in a purchase the day of, but I couldn't but help remember a young man who works at this location. His name is Rahmik, I didn't catch his last name, but he was exceptional. Very polite and charismatic, I could tell he was young but he definitely embodied the professionalism every auto dealer needs. I do not like giving bad reviews to a business, because there are variables to everyone's experience, however, this is not the case with this dealership. I have bought 3 vehicles (Lease) in this dealership. The last vehicle was a Toyota Corolla lease. The lack of professionalism and courtesy from the financial management and sales team made this a really BAD experience. I do not want to bore you with the details but needless to say that a deal went SOUR when the dealer and I could not come up to an agreement. It took almost 1.5 months for someone from the dealership to reach out to me and let me know there were some changes on the initial deal. In the meanwhile, my son was driving the new Lease while we where paying the monthly payment for the other lease. The dealer changed the initial deal we made to something we completely did not want. My Advise to ALL costumers DO NOT let the dealer set your deal. You might have some credit issues but this should not prevent you from negotiating and make a deal that is beneficial for both parties. If you do not get the deal that benefits you, there are OTHER dealers in the area that might want your business. I hope someone contacts me in regards to this experience, but I know they will not. read more

I came in for an oil change and left with a brand new rav 4 . Not sure exactly how that happened but I was in the market for a new car for a while now and I always wanted an SUV so when I drove my RAV 4 I really fell in love with it I know I couldn't leave the show Room without it .I had a great salesman named Tommy Lee, and yes he does play drums but no he is not a Motley crue. The general manager Ralph was celebrating his birthday today happy 56 birthday Ralph and he was not pushy did not upsell did not try to force me into anything and was a great general manager. The closer was a guy named ira. I really bonded with him we had a lot to talk about From music to New York to his family that was in the military to where I went to school and to what he studied. Ira is an accomplished pianist. I thought that was really cool. He wasn't pushy either when it came to extended warranties which I declined but he did do all of my paperwork for me and had my insurance transferred over my tags transferred my registration done there wasn't any stone left unturned he did at all. I looked at all of the vehicles test drove the rav 4 i bought and really loved it .It really has a cool color that's called black current pearl which looks like a deep merlot or a red wine blend. I've never seen a car that color and I really liked its so pretty. I had made up my mind right then I wanted the car. I know if I went to Toyota in Florida that it would be $10000 more than what I paid here so I was glad to buy it here save myself some money even my car insurance is less and I don't know how that works out but they're sending me a refund check because I had paid for the year and it was $73 less with the new vehicle. I had paid for the year .I've will now drive home comfortably with a lot of Room and it will be much better than driving my old Toyota Corolla which was kind of cramped between my father the 4 animals dog cages pillows and everything else I dragged to South Carolina with me to escape hurricane irma. It was kind of hard saying good bye to my original Toyota Corolla that I had own for 11 years it held a lot of memories so I had to make up my mind just to say good bye to it and even though I didn't get what I wanted as a trade in it was OK because it lasted 11 years with not one problem and it only had 90000 miles on it. I don't drive very much when I'm in Florida. I guess 11 years from now I will have to make another trip up and get myself another car and I feel that buying the car in the small little town really saved me some money. I would highly recommend Lugoff toyota To any one passing through South Carolina or to anyone living in the community. I'm still in shock that I bought myself a new card today I really wasn't expecting to do that I thought I was gonna buy a home here instead I bought a new car. It has so many cool features like brakes that stop if a car stops in front of me a mirror That shows what's behind me on a screen in the console cruise control Bluetooth and even Yelp is listed as one of the features. You know I love that .Thank you once again Tommy Lee, ralph And ira for all of your help today .IF I could give more than 5 stars I would it was excellent service my car only had 15 miles on it they washed it and got it all ready for me before I left filled up with gas and off I went with my brand new car well SUV . I made an offer on an online deal and they kept putting me off and wouldn't take my credit card for the down payment. I heard so many lies and stories from 4-5 different sales guys there. Ralph kept calling trying to find out if I was coming in for our appointment (we were already test driving a car). Clearly there is no communication there. The day we agreed on the deal, after several attempts to pay the down payment, Ralph called and said somebody had purchased the car online while he was busy showing cars to other customers. This is a very small dealership with little to no options but the plain basic models. If you want boring and basic models they have. If you want a limited edition they certainly can't deliver despite what they tell you. They assure you they can get what they don't have but just want to get your cash down payment so that you are stuck with them. Other larger dealerships are better equipped to offer you a BETTER deal because they have more volume. Lugoff Toyota needs your business so there is no reasonable negotiating. This is a text book failure dealership with minimum supply, minimum deals and minimum professional negotiation skills. Save your time and go with a classier sophisticated dealership with a LARGER supply. Lugoff Toyota doesn't care about quality or the Toyota name just a small profit. I have always bought cars by calling dealerships and letting them know that I was going to buy a car within 24 hours and that I was calling all of the dealerships in the area one time to find out their lowest price. I let them know that I would not call back to let them know when some other dealership had beat their price. I do this so that I know that I'm getting a good deal and also so that the dealership knows that they're not getting jerked around. That way if they are the competitive bidder they get to sell a car that weekend . I told the sales person the model and package that I wanted to get a quote on. The sales rep( Cody) told me that they couldn't give a quote without being in person. He then told me that if I could tell him what other dealerships had offered he could give me a price. I asked him if I gave him the other dealerships price was he ok with me calling them back and giving them his price? His answer was no. I pointed out that he was asking me to provide information I had received from other dealerships but was asking me to not provide his quote back to those dealerships because it would be unfair. I asked him once again if he was able to provide me any quote on the phone in which he answered no and we hung up. The next time I go to buy another Toyota I will not even consider Lugoff Toyota, no matter how cheap they are. It is OK to be a sales team but to expect your customer to rat on the other guys and then not rat on you is pretty dirty. I've been up there plenty of times to try to trade my Camry in and I never had any luck. But Zach made sure we got what we wanted! So I was so happy to go back to where I thought was honest, friendly...I decided to go back and get the vehicle I wanted from the start. I will never go back to lugoff Toyota s. Only one time did I not pay on or befor due date... it was due on the 3rd and I paid on the 6th. Oops. I was told that because I was established, my rate would be better than last year. That was a lie. This car was the one I wanted at the beginning, so I did everything I could to get a better rate. My credit score was higher than it was last year and so was my interest rate. I always heard that Toyota only give certain people a high interest rate no matter what. The finance person I had was related to the DM and he was awful. The cost of the car is more than what the car is worth. They got me!!! I will never return. I was offered something from the relations person or whoever if I give them a good rate.... I did because I had the same salesman from last year and did not want a low rate to hurt him because he was a great salesman. Still he lied because I got nothing. The tint in my window is jacked up. Took it back to repair and it was worst than before. I am so frustrated I don't want to see this place again so I will deal with it. read more

Stay away! Bought a new Tundra in January of 2019. Yesterday I was texted by a manager saying I needed to call them as soon as I got a chance concerning a problem with my truck. I was at work and unable to have my phone on me. So this person took it upon himself to contact 2 different references I had left them trying to get contact information for me. Completely unprofessional! I finally responded once I got the chance saying I could take care of it Monday. I get home from work last night and a guy from the dealership shows up unannounced at 7:35 pm! Says he's from the dealership and I need to sign a paper that they made a mistake on and need to send to the bank. Total and completely unprofessional on both accounts. Will definitely never do business there again, and will make sure everyone I know shops elsewhere as well. read more
