I am not sure where to start. First let me say that I am a Disabled Veteran with multiple brain injuries from service and I have always felt that each and every time I've come in to purchase a vehicle I was taken advantage of by being told a specific price and then the dealership lingo of an internet price vs a in person vs extra packages that to be should have been listed online or noted in person that made the vehicle cost more! I purchased 5 vehicles with Lugoff Ford within the past 4 years and each one has been nothing but a headache due to dealership error! My very first was a Ford Ranger which before the purchase I asked for specifics and they did agree to which included installation. Afterwards they realized it was not as easy as they thought and tried to not follow through with the deal which caused a HUGE issue! They even tried to go against the We OWE and not provide what they promised! In the end they found they were wrong and did follow through, so I decided to give another chance. I purchased 2 brand new vehicles this day! The 2nd time I purchased two new Mustangs. The Mach E in which they didn't have at the time I was promised features and told it was the same as the one we test drove, being it was day time we didn't think to look to be honest but found that was not the case, they lied to us and instead of trying to make it right it was just an "Oh, sorry about that". I was told by Lugoff Ford that the Mach E held GREAT value but found later it lost 50% of its value and is borderline just as valuable as the cheapest KIA, stay far away from this car! I wanted to give them another shot so I recently come back and purchased a 2025 Ford Explorer with a co-signer and due to issue before the deal was sent through, I wanted to simply return it back to the dealer. The day I arrived to do so they were all about taking it back but I needed to get home, it was late so I said I would be back tomorrow! Tomorrow comes and I am told the deal is funded and its a done deal, best of luck. A tactical way of telling me to F off and going back on what they said. The dealership is not trustworthy and I would rather go to any other not owned by the same group, maybe Nissan? They are new in the town of Lugoff, have great deals and seem to actually care to help people instead. I feel like they played off of my disabilities being disabled and a disabled vet. It took DAYS at times to just get a response from them, and the overall experience just was not top notch, not like purchasing a 50+ thousand-dollar car EACH time! read more

Once again Lugoff Ford has been a shining example of what a car sales experience should be. Like everyone else, i've been sitting on buying a new car because they have gotten FAR more expensive while providing even less vehicle (Car Shrinkflation). I told my wife that we would likely need to wait a few years to see if things would calm down. Enter Cheyenne and Caleb, who went far above and beyond to make it happen. I got my wife into a brand new Expedition without killing the payment. Above and beyond all that, it was very very low pressure, just an honest desire to see if what they have meets what I needed. I went to Luggoff ford toady after searching for a cheap mustang found a 2022 with like 51 miles on it. So me and my son road out to the dealership, found the mustang but when it came to but it for 38,999 they it was 43,000 +. Now mind you I just seen it on the net for 38999, the first sales men was great, the sale supervisor(Black guy with little dreads) just lied through his teeth. If they said they made a mistake and put the wrong one up since they do have two of the same year, I would have said ok I'll still take it but to go as far as changing the price on the site. I am happy to say that there is an update to my situation with Lugoff Ford. I originally posted here with a one star review because I voiced concerns regarding an unpleasant situation and the management did not respond to me when they agreed they would. That being said the GM Richard did reached out and took the time to listen to my concerns. I requested documentation and true to his word, I received it same day. I want to thank him and the Sales Manager Joe for fulfilling my request. The situation has not been fully resolved, but I wanted to update my score to more accurately reflect the experience I am receiving. Be prepared to overpay. I did my research before every deciding to go to a dealer. I knew what car I wanted, how much it was worth, what my trade in was worth. I had two identical cars at two dealers, only difference was one had about 4,000 miles and Lugoff ford advertised theirs had 343 miles. Higher mileage cars was about $3,000 less in price. I decided to to go Lugoff Ford because it was closer and the car had less miles also figure if I could talk them down a couple thousand on the price. Contacted them and made an appointment with salesman. Got there and the salesman we made an appointment with was not there. Met with another salesman and talked about car and our trade in. Drove there car and while driving the salesman said " we throw in nitrogen in tires, protective door strips, three years of car washes and an antibacterial fog". Sat down to do paperwork and find out that stuff was not throw in, it cost $2,500. He low balled us on our trade in by $6,000. So when I told him what I would take for trade he had to go get his manager. Manager came out and upped the trade value by $4,000 but would not come down on his vehicle price at all. Told him I could buy the exact same car for $3,000 less and even showed him that car. He said "if I give you any more for your car I will have to add the $2,500 back on". He even had on paperwork that I was going to put down $2500 cash as a down payment when I specifically told him I was using the equity in my trade and no cash. We kindly told him he was wasting both our times and we left. Will never ever do business with this dealer and will warn everyone against them. I saw a truck on their website with a "internet price". called, salesman says yes it's still available right here . Took off work and got there 25 minutes later. After new salesman says he will bring it around for me after he gets all information. After he goes back to talk to the manager twice he says sorry that truck was sold at auction yesterday. In my humble opinion that was just a gimmick to get information. I feel like I was deceived by this company. Let me start by saying I don't think I've had a more pleasant buying experience at a car dealership. I purchased my car back in February of this year ( 2017 ) and have seen a lot of negative reviews about this dealership. I figured I'd share my positive one. Baker ( salesperson ) greeted me while I was looking for a new Escape. I needed something bigger and more economical than my 2012 Mini Roadster. While it was a lot of fun to own and drive, I needed something I could drive myself, my spouse and my folks around. She totally understood and helped me with my purchase. From the test drive through the buying Baker and the rest of the team made me feel welcome and valued as someone doing business with them. I just took my car in for its first service and was also treated well. They changed the oil and rotated the tires. I did need them to look at the dash since it was not seated as it should be. I noticed this about the first week I had it but had not had time to look at it. I left my car the for the afternoon and picked it up about half an hour before closing. Sadly the dash still looked the same. I did get a survey and left note there about the dash and it not being fixed. A few days later Evan reached out, explained some things I had questions about and had me bring the car back in. The dash was fixed and I am a happy camper. One thing I will say, if you want to make an appointment for service, call them as the internet appointment system was less than helpful. As it turns out, I really did not need one for the service I had. Larger issues require one and that would have been helpful to know. That though is not so much the service departments fault as much as it is just a broken system maintained by Ford I think. read more

I have NEVER had a more disappointing experience dealing with a reputable company before until my son bought a $30k vehicle from this dealership. The service department has done nothing but lie to me and my son since March 2022. You think by having a warranty it would be a cut and dry repair, not in this case. The car, purchased less than a year ago, needed a new engine. Four months later, no loaner, no rental, excuse after excuse, lie after lie, NO ONE at this place could live up to the FORD name. They said the car was one price online then they tacked on over 3k worth of extra bullshit, then after arguing with them they only took off almost 2k but wouldn't remove the rest of the bullshit (this is an illegal practice). They sold me a 2019 wrx that I only drove for 7 days then the engine had to be rebuilt. They doctored it just to get it off the lot. Thankfully it was still under warranty! Mr. Richard and Miss Jennifer made it right. I bought two vehicles within a year and a half and both times Mr. Richard has worked with me giving me top dollars for my trade-in and ensuring I receive all the incentives possible. This is the first time I deal with Miss Jennifer but, she has been awesome. Called the day after purchase to check on the vehicle and had been in constant communication with me ensuring I'm taken care of even after the purchase. UPDATE: I took the recently purchased truck due to a dent and Lugoff fixed it at no cost to me. Additionally, I noticed the coating on the wheel well was poorly done from the factory. I brought this to Mr. Richards attention and they replaced the truck for another brand new truck, no questions asked. They even cut me a check. read more

Buyer BEWARE!!!!! Ford just lost a customer for good!!!!! I will never do any type of business with this dealership again. In fact, ford just lost a customer for good. My experience with this dealership has been a nightmare. I feel like I was lied to, ripped off and treated like garbage. I spent over six hours at the dealership buying a new Ranger. Why didn't I leave you ask? Once they get ahold of your trade in, it's like you're a hostage. Finally, when everything was said and done, I was promised two after purchase upgrades. After repeated unreturned phone calls to the salesman (steven) who by the way was the worse salesman I have ever dealt with. I called his sales manager. Finally, I was given an appointment to get my spray on bed liner and navigation completed. When I showed up for the appointment, the service person had no idea why I was there. After about an hour of waiting they finally took my truck back. After about another hour, I had to go hunt down Steven and ask what was going on? He of course had no idea and came back several minutes later and said he would need to give me a loaner vehicle. They couldn't install the navigation and spray the liner on until the next day. So once again after wasting more hours of my time, I left. As I said, my navigation system was also installed the day the bed liner was sprayed on, however it didn't work. So I attempted to get in touch with Steven again. He took my call and said he would look into getting my new module ordered and call me right back. After two days of waiting and no phone call, I finally had to call the sales manager. He told me it would take 3 days to get my replacement navigation module made and that he would call me. Well he lied and never called me back either. It's been almost two weeks now and I'm still waiting on that phone call as promised. Yesterday I tried calling them twice and the manager and salesman are suddenly not available and don't return my calls. Don't bother asking for a general manager they aren't available either. I guess whenever they get around to living up to their end of the deal I'll finally get my navigation fixed. Once you make a purchase you are no longer of interest to these people. I have purchased 4 Ford trucks in the last 15 years and do to this experience, Ford has lost a loyal customer. read more

I contacted the dealership via email about a car I thought was a great deal. I offered the price they were asking online but "Out The Door" after fees and everything. I also offered my used vehicle which is worth about 750.00, according to what I had been offered by other dealers. The salesperson got back with me right away, trying to get me to come in to see it before they would talk price. Once I made it clear that my offer was what it would be no matter what they completely stopped all communication. Bought a truck that was supposed to come with a universal oil change package meaning I get 10 oil changes at ANY Ford. They screwed that up and I've had to drive 35 minutes to Lugoff for each oil change. They were supposed to reimburse me for the oil change that didn't get covered but never did. read more

Well, no nice way to start this review. So I'll start with a harsh sentence that may cover the full summary... then you're welcome to read more. Summary Sentence: I would have had a better experience calling myself, while staring at a webpage with car photos, and standing on hot coals. You're welcome to quote me on that if you'd like. This may be, by far, the worst 21st century car dealership that I've personally ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I'm not quite sure they understand what the internet it, or email for that matter. In fact based on the very limited emails I received and the information in them my guess is they call or carrier pigeon their message to someone else, who then types up the message, and send it to me. In fact, the carrier pigeon comment may be accurate as that would account for speed. Getting in lines with the times, and from past experience being very drained by the person to person shopping experience as one guy lies about what he can do, to go ask another guy, to then come back and try to lie some more... well that experience gets old. So I went the way of the internet. Hunting to find the car I want, providing information, as well as asking for it. Initially, I thought I hit the mark with Lugoff Ford. It was local, and after an online inquiry I received an email stating they didn't have the vehicle I wanted listed (A 2013 Fusion Hybrid), but they did have one I could test drive. Fantastic, I thought, and I made it clear I wanted to test drive before sitting down to crunch numbers. I would NOT be buying the day I drove. Clear and up front. "Great, no problem! We'll see you _____" and I made it happen. While, to their credit, they didn't hard sell me. You could feel the pressure (and the VERY clear look on the upset sales manager's face) that I wasn't going to buy that second. Now, having a face to face relationship with them. I assume, nice people, willing to help/sale. Lets figure things out. I reply back to the email chain I've had asking for their "internet" cost for the Hybrid we did drive, and then a non-hybrid that we did not but would also be interested in. This was a Thursday (literally the day after the test drive). While doing so, and hoping for competitive offers. I also contacted via internet/email other dealers within a 2 hours radius. Pretty much the limit I would go if we could make a deal. By Friday afternoon, I had not only received a LOT of emails from Lugoff's competition, but had also basically started negotiation via email and talked a few down to a more comfortable number. Meanwhile, Lugoff had not replied. AT ALL. Not even to say they were working on it! ALL these companies were told, beyond a doubt, I was definitely making a purchase Saturday, and wanted the best deal I could get (I was pre-approved). Lugoff did not respond or price a vehicle till Saturday afternoon... as I was driving my new 2013 Ford Fusion SE home... from another dealer. Not only did Lugoff ignore my emails, but in person when I test drove you could feel (and again, the mustached sales managed made sure he made it facially obvious) that I was a 'waste' of their time for not purchasing on the spot. Their TV commercials, and even in person sales are all about best cost and competitive cost. Yet none of those cost were provided to me, the customer, in anything that resembled a timely manner. Plus, when those prices were received (apples to apples same model + features) they were not even close to competitive - BEFORE negotiation. I feel my emails, research, and even test drive were a total waste of my time which could have been used elsewhere. Lugoff should remove the title "internet sales manager" from their staff because nothing is being managed, or responded too. I'm partially glad I was treated the way I was because they actually helped my dodge a bullet! If this was their customer service to get a NEW customer, I can't imagine how a regular customer is treated for return business like oil changes, regular maintenance, questions, etc. I definitely would NOT recommend this company for new car customers, and you can bet I'll have a review written for the MUCH better dealer I did do business with. Save yourself the hassle, and shop smarter than this clearly outdated/non-responsive dealership. read more

It's time to start looking for a car for the new driver in my house. I asked for info on a car that was in Lugoff'sAutotrader.com ad. The car was a Nissan Altima coupe for $2999. Just in our range! I get a email from Robert Treadway with a "Price Protection Certificate" and a hearty Welcome letter letting me know how well I am about to be treated, how they refuse to "bug" me and that they don't believe in the "traditional" way of doing car sales. This is where it all goes bad. Because only if being honest and forthright are the traditional way, then they, live up to their promise. To start, the internet price was $2999. Lugoff then added $489 in doc fees (about double SC average doc fees. It's easy to find that stuff out with the googles!) Then there was an addition to the price of $500 for "Financial Assistance" and $1000 added for "Trade Allowance". Both of these fees confused me. Assistance does not usually make things harder or more expensive. (I've never assisted a friend who is picking up a heavy box by lying on top of it!) And how does a trade allowance add money to the vehicle (PS: no trade to be made.) So now the new total is $4989! Quite a bit more than the advertised price. So I send an email to Robert, inquiring what exactly these additions to the wire are exactly, I am fine with the more expensive doc fee as that is to be expected. But I wanted to know more about these additions that seemed like they should have been subtractions. He sent a very curt and obviously angry email that read "This vehicle has been sold. The finace and trade assist are already calcualted into the internet price. If you do not have a trade or do not finance with one our of partner banks we add those figures back in as appropiate." Three things: 1) If you are the internet sales person which means you work regularly on computers), you should be able to craft an email of this length without 3 glaring spelling errors. 2) Is it really possible that in the 20 minutes between 'We have that car and here is your price guarantee' to "This car is sold"? and 3) If we don't use the financing or trade is the money really ADDED back to the price? It already was added to the price! WTF?!? I then sent another email asking for confirmation of how their system works: "Just so I understand, the price was $2,999, then $1989 was added to make it $4988. But if we bought it with cash (though I understand it is now sold) you would then reduce the Trade and Assist to make it $3488. Am I correct? I've just never seen those 2 fee's before and I want to understand them before I continue looking. Thanks again, I hate that in the 20 minutes between you sending me a Price Protection Certificate and me asking for info, that it sold! That's the way it goes, I guess!" Yes, a little passive aggressive at the end, but I couldn't resist! Shockingly, ole Robert stopped communicating with me at this point so I still don't understand the system. I'm no longer on his car-dar. This was all run-around and garbage trying to confuse undereducated folks or take advantage of those who are desperate for wheels. The car continues to be on AutoTrader.com, not because it's only been a few days since the sale and they forgot to pull it down, because since this exchange they have kept the ad up but dropped the price, so they have kept current on their online inventory. They are playing bait and switch. They are adding weird charges and when someone starts to dig a little they default to "This vehicle is sold". Upon looking deeper into the place (reviews from other sites), I found a few other similar stories of how cars got magically sold out in short time or just as someone pulled in after setting a appointment to test drive. This place is giving us exactly what we expect from a used car dealer. Shenanigans, double speak, hidden charges, and then when the heat gets turned up even little, the old bail-out. I would rather my son walked everywhere in Croc's than to do business with a place like this. If you choose to do biz here, good luck and don't ask too many questions!!! read more

You need to really want to buy a vehicle to deal with these people. Small town in the middle of nowhere with a $489 DOC fee!! They should be happy anyone travels there to attempt to do business (trust me this will be difficult unless you roll over and take it). Went to see a "new" truck with the new price to go with it... 5200 miles on it. They had stuck the original sticker on the dash with an addendum sticker. $2000+ adds that consisted of 1yr ding removal, locking lug nuts, window tint and paint sealant. What a value! If you like paying close to msrp plus over $2500 in ridiculous fees and overpriced add ons- this is the place for you. read more

They take advantage of disabled Elderly..On 12/2 I visited dealership and met with Chris (Sales Manager) and Joe Scott (Finance Associate). During this visit I advised them of my father's medical conditions in addition to discussing the following information:-I outlined my father's mental wellbeing/mental health -I specifically asked about road test and was told he had to have one in order to purchase the truck by Chris Nimmons -I asked about proof of income and was told he did not need proof of income for his $25,000 loan-I was told he could get in and out of the truck by himself, which is not true-I was told that the truck was sold based on his down payment of $20,000 and his credit score of 658 and the fact that he had a valid driver's licenseOn the day of purchase my father had just had dialysis. Which means that he would have been super weak and unable to get in and out of the truck without assistance. There are cameras throughout the Dealership and I asked if the videos could be pulled to confirm and I was advised no. I've requested to return the vehicle because the money that was used to purchase it is used to cover medical and personal expenses. These expenses include medication, multiple doctor's visits (including dialysis), and housing expenses at the Waterford Retirement Community. The dealership did not do their due diligence by requiring proof of income, and had they done so, it would've been clear that he had no consistent income to make a purchase. There should be actual and verifiable information on all contracts and legal documents, but Lugoff Ford Dealership blatantly misrepresented this information to get my father into this new vehicle. In reviewing the documentation, the signature on the affidavits for the sale of the vehicle is drastically different from the signature on the paperwork for the Road Hazard Protection and the Vehicle Protection Plans.He's quite familiar with using an Ipad to sign documents and the signature I have is completely different from the ones on the Ipad that was used in the dealership at POS. On 12/2, Joe advised me that he was willing to work with me to resolve the issue and asked what I wanted. I told him I wanted to return the truck and pay for damages. Joe advised me that he would have the General Manager call me back on 12/3, but I did not get a call. I called them back 4 times due to the lack of contact and finally got an answer later that day that we would meet with Richard Andrew at 1:15pm.At 1:15pm on 12/3/19, we met with Richard Andrews and he said he understood that we wanted to return the truck and pay for the damages. He said that there might be some depreciation costs involved and that he would have to reach out to legal to find out how much it would be. During this conversation, I informed Richard that my father couldn't afford to give the down payment money because that is already dedicated to his housing and medical costs. I inquired about next steps and he said to return the truck before COB 12/3/2019. He would then have his staff take a look at the truck, reach out to his lawyers, and contact us with their findings. He also threatened Federal Prosecution of my father, because he had not brought back a Certified Check for the $20,000 down payment. Upon returning the truck we were advised that they would have to reach out to their legal team and call us back tomorrow. It wasn't until we asked for this in writing that they advised us we would have to take the truck with us which we refused. Richard attempted to hand us the keys and force us to take the truck back in an aggressive and unprofessional manner. We advised him that we would not take it back, since that wasn't part of our initial agreement. We left the truck with the keys in Richard's hand at the dealership. On 12/4 they cashed the $20,000 without following through with their agreement. We were mocked and treated unprofessionally by Richard Andrew. They have the truck and the money. We have no resolution and we still have not been contacted as of today 12/10. read more

Had an appt to look at a specific truck. Told the salesman I was more than likely going to buy it. I drove 2.5 hrs in the rain and heavy traffic to get the truck, and they were literally selling it as I pulled into the dealership. My thing is, if I schedule an appt to look at specific truck that I have all but committed to buy, how hard is it to wait an hr or two to give me a chance at least. Update: Today I received a check from the GM Ray at Lugoff Ford. It exceeded the initial amount of gas to pay for my drive. I'm not sure if the first gas card was sent to wrong address or they simply forgot, but Ray made up for it. I cannot get my time back, but Ray did his best in covering for a shady employee. First off this is the second time I gave lugoff Ford a chance to help me. The first time they gave me the run around when I'm trying to trade my vehicle in for a truck. I told them what I needed and they said they could help. First bring me nothing I could use then bring me something completely out of my price range. Four months later I decided to give them another chance to help me because it's under new management but they were no better then the last. I went in and they found me a truck told me they would submit to there bank and it would take a while so I left for work. I waited till next day and no one called back so, I called them. The gentleman told me it didn't go through which I was expecting it. I told him to try other banks. Now mind you on Wednesday afternoon still no phone calls and I left on Monday at 11:30. So I go up there and no one seems to know what is going on and they say i can't get a loan. I spoke with finance guy he had no idea what was going on and what truck I was talking about. Then they try to sell me a completely different truck. I got pissed and walked out. The manager never came out and talked to me and he knew I was upset when I came in the very first time when when he found me the truck, and he said he would do anything he could to help me out. I told him what I could do for payment and they would help. My credit is good as well. They talk alot of crap and I will never ever buy another vehicle from Ford.
