march 28, 2026 -- buyer beware!!! alpine heat pumps does not stand behind the products they sell…read more 18 months after purchase, major components failure of the compressor and inverter pcb board. best they could do was, we could get out there in maybe 2 weeks, why don't you try calling.....maybe they can help. alpine's representative had the nerve after it was diagnosed by another company as a known c464 failure problem with samsung to say, "well every now and then you get a bad one, but the parts are covered!" 18 months and a major failure, and we're supposed to come up with another $1,500 to $2,000 for labor and freon. so, they don't service what they sell, moreover, don't stand behind the product they recommended. not to mention that as part of mass save had to have our furnace disconnected and we are stll without heat (april 7) in half the house...tonights low expected to be 25 degrees! going on a week and half of 50% heat, not expected to maybe be repaired on the 14th. they were responsive in taking my $28,000 for the system, and now they will not respond! poor customer service! they take your money and move on! shop elsewhere, and go with company that actually services what they sell and stands behind the products they sell. oh, and they no longer sell samsung....no suprise. only 1 star, because can't give zero.

Additionally Jason(Alpine) charged me for four(4) mini-splits and I only recieved three(3) and one(1) condenser. Jason came to my home and I complained to him about mini-splits turn on in the off position. He(jason) stated he would put in a work request ASAP. I called him yesterday and he was able to schedule an appointment 9:30 AM the next day. He was at the house promptly at 9:30 AM and figured out that the transformer on the boiler was dead. The heater is over 20 years old but it works and rather than say I needed to replace the whole unit he said I just needed to replace the transformer. He had one in the truck along with an expansion tank because he noticed that the existing one I had needed to be replaced as well. The whole fix took about 1.5 hours. He was friendly and a great guy to talk to, I learned a thing or two about the unit I had installed and that goes a long way to helping me maintain it. I put his card in my file and I will definitely be using him in the future if I need any other work done. It's a 65 year old house so I'm sure that will be sooner than later.

I knew of his reputation from a heating help board I had been on in the past and knew he was the guy I wanted for my install. When Gary says he'll be there at 7am you better believe him. He showed up on time and went right to work. His lead plumber came shortly after and drove what I'd call a mobile plumbing shop. These guys don't mess around, they had every tool and fitting imaginable and I couldn't have been more impressed, except for the fact they were heads down all business the whole time they were here. Gary was here from 7am to 6:30pm and spent the time to make sure everything was perfect and that I knew all of the features available before he left. The quality of the work was beyond impressive and we couldn't be happier! Btw, the boiler is a Viessmann and it's awesome, I can monitor it from my phone and on a recent trip I was able to lower the domestic hot water while we were away which saved us gas.

Had a scare last night with the carbon monoxide detectors going off. We had Columbia Gas come out…read moreand they said it was probably the boiler or some sort of venting issue. We left for the night and called Baystate Comfort this morning (between 7am- 8am). James was at our home between 8:30-9am!! He was able to repair the issue, but warned us that our furnace is on borrowed time. He was very knowledgeable while explaining the process of a replacement and how it would benefit our home. He also was patient answering all of our questions about other options (routine maintenance, duct tape, prayers, etc :). In the end, he will be sending us a quote for a new furnace and hot water heater in one system, and we are working on setting up a game to pay for it.
