Busy place! We were here on a Tuesday afternoon, and although it was bustling there were plenty of units available. The layout is good, the aisles are roomy and the folding tables are big! All the equipment was operational. To wash, we used a triple front loader which required 30 quarters ($7.50), and $1.50 for 30 minutes on a standard sized dryer. No credit options but the change machine works. They do have full service which charges by the pound, but we didn't use it. It also has a coffee shop on one side and a sandwich shop on the other, so options while you wait. Worked for us! I had a load of laundry to tackle. I walked to the local Lucy's laundry mat. There are an abundance of washers, dryers, baskets and tables to do your folding. Even though there were a lot of people, I didn't have to wait in line for anything. It was $4.00 for 1 load to wash and $1.00 to dry for 20 minutes. It's .25 for every 5 minutes. I even had 2 pairs of jeans and several shirts. The best part was the lady who manages Lucy's was always busy keeping this place sparking clean. She was efficient, incredibly friendly, and ready to assist with any concerns. They have a change machine for $1, $5, and $10. Plus they've got the laundry essentials covered with a soap machine and dryer sheets. While I was waiting for my laundry, I sat and enjoyed the nice music. It made the time go by faster. You know if you follow my reviews I love to heap praises and offer a critique on our local businesses. I had planned to drop a restaurant review but you know what comes on a #sundayfunday for me is laundry day. Well after doing the others in town is time for Lucy's. The first thing I noticed was how clean it was, not that the others weren't but still a good selling point. Then there was light music that masked the hum of the machines as well as a TV (though there is not much to watch at 830am ). The change machine took my worn bill without fail, I'm the guy with those issues . Lastly and I think the best selling point is that they have an on-site attendant. He was personable, greeted me as well as everyone who entered and helped make a not so fun activity much more pleasing. Lucy's also offers drop off service for those of you so inclined to let someone else take your laundry day joy away. It's a nice laundry mat. My family is camping out at Van Damme state park when one morning my son had a little accident in his sleeping bag. It's a 15 min drive out here, which isn't bad. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Seems really nice on the outside and inside but costumer service is non existent. One washer was eating up every single cent I had ($20 by the way). I could see the quarters stuck in the slot so I tapped on the slot to try and shimmy the quarter in. The button on the machine was broken and there was no sign saying not to use it because it's broke. Owner came out and repeatedly yells at us to not "punch" the machines (which is a bit overkill). Says the slot and button is broke from people hitting it. Not once not twice not three times, just kept going and going outloud in front of the whole building. Again NO SIGN SAYING ITS BROKEN. And when we asked for our refund for the change he shorted us. Very very very rude. Will not be returning or recommending. read more

Being a massage therapist and mom of 3, I have used every Laundromat in the county over the years. Lucy's machines and floors are not only sparkling clean, but the machines are impeccably maintained and actually get my clothes and sheets cleaner than any other place in town. (When you wash 20 sets of white sheets at a time, its pretty apparent what places get them Clean- clean and which places leave things just a bit dingy. .. ) When you select Hot wash at Lucy's you actually get your clothes washed with HOT water. ( unlike at another place in fort bragg) Sure , it costs a little more, but its sunny, the folding tables are large and roomy, There is free wifi, good music and surf videos playing.. for a Laundromat, the ambience is pretty zen. Its located right next to CVS , some restaurants and the health food store if you need to grab a snack or detergent.. the dryers do the job fully with only 4 quarters instead of 6 ( at other places), Their wash and fold laundry service is professional, timely and well run- they fully customize how you like your laundry done ( scented, unscented, bleach or stain remover , folded or hung). (Blanca really is the best!) This is definitely the only place to wash clothing that is really nice. You definitely get what you pay for. read more

In town for two-weeks on business and used their drop off service. The location was clean and well maintained. Both attendants I interacted with were pleasant and professional. I dropped off my laundry, which included 8 dress shirts, two dress pants, a pair of jeans, etc. When I picked up the laundry the shirts and pants were on hangers and the remaining laundry neatly folded. They charged by the pound ($2), not charging me any extra for the shirt or pants hangers. Total cost for 13 pounds of laundry, folded or hung up, $26, and I was not having to spend a couple hours in the laundry. The company will reimburse me for the laundry; however, well worth it even if it was not reimbursed. read more

We were camping nearby and got caught in an unseasonal rainstorm and our tent leaked. We needed to dry our sleeping bags, but they have a policy that you can't dry anything that you didn't wash there. We were going to do a load of wash as well as dry our sleeping bags so we thought it would be ok. Apparently it wasn't and we had to leave. This place is so rude and horrible machines!! During the storm of the century my poser went out and I had a load of clean clothes with no way to dry them. I thought of course I will go to the local laundromat and dry my clothes since I had no idea when the power would resume and did not want my clothes to mold. I went in and placed my clean clothes in a dryer and was told to get my clothes out of the dryer since I didn't wash my clothes there. I explained my situation and they still did not care. They told me I had to wash my clothes again in order to dry there. The last time I washed my clothes here when we had no power, my clothes came back stained and dirty. I went there when I moved to FB A few months ago. I went in early, didn't have enough cash to start a load and they don't take debit. The guy working there fronted me enough to get started. When a nearby store opened I went and got the cash to pay the employee back. I'm not sure that there are many places that would have taken such a risk. I have a friend who has utilized the services at Lucy's laundry for the past year. When I asked him how the customer service was he replied so,so. Later I found out why. When you get your clothes back and they smell,it makes you wonder if they washed them or did they not dry them in a timely manner. He had a very nice shirt to get returned to him with a stain that was not on it when it was sent in... When asked Lucy's management replied we washed it in hot water instead of cold we , will pay for the shirt and give you a free washing. Never happened. The owner called and said they would give him 30$ for the shirt that he paid 60$ for and no free washing. That he had found the shirt on e-bay for 30$ . I run my own business and these people need to attend some serious customer service courses. read more

Me and my girlfriend came in at 650pm on a Friday to do 1 load of laundry because we have been traveling from Houston, TX. The attendant told us we could not start a load because it was 710pm, they had moved the clock ahead 20 minutes just to get out earlier! My girlfriend looked at me and I could tell she was almost ready to say something but I just shook my head and we politely thanked the woman and walked out. I happened to be in Lucy's the day that Jennifer K. from Fremont, CA had her "tantrum" about not being able to dry her wet and dirty sleeping bags in Lucy's. The policy that "you can dry only if you wash" at Lucy's is clearly posted on the front door as you enter. I suspect that Jennifer K. saw the policy and thought she should be an exception for some reason. She tried every way to pressure, first the attendant, then Ron, the owner, into letting her dry her sleeping bags without washing them first. He was never rude and explained he didn't want the dirt and sand from their wet bags in the dryer. He politely told her there were other laundromats in Fort Bragg where they would be allowed to dry their bags without washing them first He never raised his voice. Jennifer K., must be used to getting her way, because she became really infuriated She was loud and belligerent and began calling the owner names. I felt Ron de-escalated the situation by removing himself for a time and giving this nasty person time to gather herself and leave. Her parting shot was to slam the dryer door as hard as she could. Ron had to test the door of the dryer after she left to see if it was broken. Let me just say that I wanted to speak up and defend Lucy's from Jennifer K.'s barrage of insults that day but thought better of it because I knew I would just open myself up to more of her verbal abuse. I recently moved to Fort Bragg and have tried all of the other laundromats. I come to Lucy's to do my laundry because it is always very clean, the service is always great and the staff is very helpful. I for one appreciate that Ron doesn't allow dirty clothes to be dried in the dryers. I don't want sand or dirt in my clothes if I happen to be the person who has the poor misfortune to use the dryer after someone like Jennifer K. I love this place too! read more
