Fun shopping experience with well stocked shelves from around the world…read more They now have Chinese, Mexican, Caribbean, Korean, African and other food shelves. We lived in China from 2011 to 2020 and this brings back all the fun of Chinese markets with friendly people, lots of Chinese and other languages spoken here. It is a melting pot of international shoppers! Great variety of cooking greens and specialized mushrooms. Also Asian style pots and pans, bowls, plates, and odd kitchen devices. Vegetables are much higher quality than a place like Shnucks and cheaper too! Enormous variety of frozen dumplings, stuffed buns, onion cakes, and others-and they're great and I buy them! Can't recommend this place highly enough.

This encourages me to try new things and there is a lot of that in the store. So much that I would have to go back five or six times a month to even get a month full because there is so much stuff that I want to try. I highly recommend checking the store out if you are a foodie or chef because it will definitely make you a talking to your creativity!

Considering that I'm originally from St Louis and I spend quite a lot of time in Kansas City, getting fantastic ribs in a neighborhood store is unbelievable. My eyes immediately did a quick scan trying to figure out where everything was that I saw in the video. Big cookie? Check (register); the chips? (Made in house and directly behind me on the shelf). The jackpot was the sandwiches which were located in the deli to the left of the register. I made my way back there and was surprised that not only did they have a hot bar, but they also had tons of deli meat, different cuts of meat, breads and vegetables! I took a quick scan of the menu and knew I wanted the Truffles Caprese but on foccacia instead of the bread it came with. I noticed the hot bar had shrimp and some chicken balls which I found out were chicken spiedini! While ordering my sandwich, I inquired about the spiedini and they let me try some. The spiedini was equally good, if not better than what they serve at Charlie Gitto's. It was packed full of flavor, had a nice char on the outside and seasoned to perfection, just how I like it. I ended up sticking with the sandwich and decided to browse the store while my sandwich was being made. I love how they have everything you need and at relatively good prices. I was surprised at how much alcohol they had- it seemed like they had more of that than the groceries! It wasn't long until my sandwich was ready and I decided to grab a chocolate chip cookie because you know I couldn't leave without getting something sweet. My first bite of my sandwich surpassed my expectations as the balsamic was so fresh as were the tomatoes and the burrata paired well with the rest of the ingredients. After a few bites, I felt the cookie calling my name. It was perfect in every way- soft, the right amount of chocolate chips, and the sea salt sealed the deal as far as the taste goes. My first visit to the Truffles Butchery Market was a success and I'm already trying to figure out when I can return!

If you look too closely, you will notice that it's not exactly the cleanliest, there's not a lot of attention to detail in the atmosphere and someone is usually smoking downstairs which drifts up into the dining room and is quite unpleasant. I only really notice it when seated at a table that borders on the staircase. My favorites are the shrimp long noodles and they pour a nice sauce over it and cut it with scissors for you, the shrimp and chive fried dumplings that the server brings in the cart that rolls around and makes for you, the salt and pepper shrimp or calamari, the pickled cucumbers, & the duck. Service is always friendly although there is sometimes a language barrier. Parking can be tricky, but it's worth the effort.

We were in for an early lunch Sunday with that spring forward nonsense. And we loved picking things from the steamer cart and others. The flavors are awesome as are the textures. Different dumplings for different things and I got a few pics but missed others. I find the carts are great for meeting hunger where it is -- quick and can order as you eat rather than order all up front. Going with a bigger group is lots of fun for all the things you can try but even with just two of us a range of small plates really hits the spot. The cart folks check in often til you say no more for a while but appreciate that the owner also checks in.

Nothing divey about a hip cocktail or hip deviled eggs -- these are sophisticated modern twists, the exact move wine bars make and dives don't. A chalkboard of specials and weathered seating gesture at the aesthetic; the rest of the room knows. Kendall Roy of restaurants -- comes from privilege, wants badly to be of the people. It's a bit, and mostly the kitchen and bar back it up. Nevertheless, we arrived to a full room, hour wait for a table, but we fortunately arrived to snag the last first come patio table. The bar was also full, by the way, which felt neighborhood like, people clearly like this place during happy hour. The old fashioned makes the case: Old Grand-Dad Bonded, pickled rye, cognac, butterscotch bitters. Two whiskeys and a bitter you won't find at an actual dive. Rich, a little sweet. The harissa deviled eggs keep going -- fried shallots, roasted red peppers, cilantro, marinated tomato jam. You know, just like the old dive with the $1 PBR.Deviled eggs for people that don't like deviled eggs. However, we love deviled eggs...foreshadowing. The short ribs are the headline -- fall-apart tender over whipped potatoes substantial enough to stand up to the meat, gravy spot on. Eats like a perfectly executed roast dinner. The brie burger is the sneaky second hit, genuinely decadent, bacon with the cheese melting into the beef. The service was good and pleasant and that felt more like dive-friendly, where you might expect a wine "bar" to be snooty or full of themselves. 4.4 Stars Picking Nits: hip deviled eggs that reach past what they can hold. Tomato jelly on top is a lot going on, in the wrong way, and the egg disappears under it. These are trying to be hip deviled eggs more than they're trying to be good deviled eggs. Every ambitious kitchen has one plate that tries too hard; this appears to be one. A 5 needs those eggs landing, in the same way the entrees excelled. Regardless, we'll be back.
