Upscale locally owned neighborhood specialty grocery store offering wine, cheese, coffee and gourmet food items. They have an extensive wine collection, including half bottle options. They also have a wide cheese selection in the back. The P'Tit Basque cheese (semi-soft) is divine! Love the strong flavor of it. Some other items you can find here: Fresh fish and meat, red lentils, tahini paste, chocolate, teas, coffee and tea accessories, local honey, free range local eggs ($5/dozen), beer, hard liquor, cigars, world's greatest chocolate cookies (according to the sign)... Great fish selection. Have also purchased steaks and some featured wines, enjoyed talking with the in house wine specialist John Nash..

Rude!!! The workers in this place are so rude and unhelpful. I had heard this about the place being only for locals-that isn't a joke.

Because of…read morethat, ordering drinks took quite a while, and there seemed to be some confusion with our order--our drinks came out incorrectly, and we had to repeat ourselves a few times. It felt a bit hectic, though understandable given the staffing. Once we were seated for dinner, the experience improved in terms of service. The waitstaff was attentive and checked in regularly, which we appreciated. As for the food, it was fine but ultimately underwhelming. The dishes lacked flavor and didn't stand out or make me excited to try something else on the menu. Unfortunately, dessert was also disappointing. Overall, while the food was okay, it didn't feel worth the price or compelling enough to return. In hindsight, I may have enjoyed something more casual--like a burger at the bar--just as much, if not more.

Service was awesome and I felt the waitress was overdone with sweetnesses, it was fine. The indoor siting area was great. You know you were in a high-end hotel and I loved the decoration and arch way and open cooking place. I gave four star because food is SO expensive with very small portions. I ordered ravioli and was $36 (?) and it was FIVE pieces on my plate. My friend had the lasagna and it was OK portion but it was like $39. Cocktails are extremely high price as well. Salas was $22 or $24. So I guess this might be just for rich people who have a lot of money to burn here. Good experience, but with high price. Probably not come again unless it is for business.

From what I can tell Salume operates the small deli at the back of the store from about 10am-2pm each day Parker's is open. They have special meats and cheeses that are turned into fantastic sandwiches that rival the best you can get in the St Louis area. Their Italian sausage is a favorite of mine and I almost always have some in the freezer. I like all their sandwiches but over the summer they were doing a BLT that has no peer. Besides the bacon from their butcher shop they also used thick slices of heirloom tomatoes that were ripe and full of flavor. That extra touch with tomatoes you normally have to grow on your own did it for me.

The sandwich I ordered was called the Speck (German for bacon) and was phenomenal and the combination of cured meats, specialty mustard, a bit of preserved lemon and melted Gouda cheese was a perfect combo and was as good as many sandwiches I've ate at in parts of Spain and Italy I've traveled to. It's not a huge sandwich but the portion was just right for me to have a nice lunch along with a bag of gourmet chips. I'm sure that I'll be coming back sooner rather than later so that I can try other great sandwiches at Salume Beddu for sure. One thing about this location that wasn't obvious is where to dine inside the store and so the counter service person steered me to their back dining room that was no frills as far as ambience but that's fine by me.

This was so good; we came here the whole week we were in St. Louis for lunch! The office I was working in was on the same block as Pastaria Deli & Wine, so a less than five-minute walk from the office, so no driving or need to hail an Uber was awesome. Inside there are wine bottles all over the walls and it just has this cozy, Italian café/deli vibe. Depending on when you get there, the line to the cash register can snake out the door, but it moves pretty fast. There's a surprising number of tables inside and since the weather was nice, there were several tables out in front. Each day, we had the same cashier, Carly (I believe that's her name). Carly was incredibly bubbly, cute, fun! Once we placed our order, we received a metal tag with a number on it and found a table. I didn't order any sort of specialty drink; I took advantage of the free water located near the back of the restaurant. The time from when we placed our order to getting our lunch was pretty quick, even when the place was packed for lunch. So for the three days I was in St. Louis, I ordered these three sandwiches: 1. Il Capo Italiano: Lemon ricotta, mortadella, soppressata, mozzarella, giardiniera, salted potato chips (Miss Vickie's most likely), arugula, red wine vinegar, & extra virgin olive oil on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - A jam-packed sandwich! The lemon ricotta was amazing and the crunch from the salted potato chips was excellent. Beware that this sandwich is heavy on the oils, so be prepared to "wear" this sandwich the rest of the day unless you brought your toothbrush. haha This sandwich was plenty thick, the slices of mozzarella really helped to make this sandwich thick and filling. 2. Volpi Heritage Prosciutto: Volpi Heritage prosciutto, butter, lemon olive oil, & house-made giardiniera on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - The lemon olive oil was a very pleasant flavor, not too strong. Of the three sandwiches I ordered, this was the smallest in terms of fillings but it was still plenty filling for lunch with a bag of Miss Vicky's Spicy Dill Pickle chips! 3. Chicken Bacon Ranch: Thin sliced chicken breast, bacon, smoked cheddar cheese, tomato, arugula, banana peppers, & jalapeno-ricotta ranch on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - The sliced chicken breast was piled on thick and the bacon was a welcome addition. There was plenty arugula and banana peppers inside but the jalapeno-ricotta ranch elevated this! Creamy with a slight spicy kick to it. I didn't have one bad meal here and for the quality and quantity, I felt the prices were pretty reasonable, especially in the year 2026. Pastaria Deli & Wine is an awesome lunch spot! The friendly staff, cool, authentic Italian-vibes, fast service, and the quality food, it comes together here! I can't wait to come back through St. Louis for work and stop in here again for lunch, maybe I'll even treat myself to some of their gelato!

You order at the counter and choose your own seat. I ordered the delicious kale caeser wrap with chicken & Mrs. Vickie's sea salt chips. Even the coke from the can was fresh & delish. Would def come back!
