We were gifted the cocktail making class and 10/10 would recommend! The owners were engaging, provided hands-on education, and made the entire experience a blast. We learned new things and even got to "perfect" some egg white cocktails, along with our double straining skills. The drinks we made were delicious and the conversation flowed. Although the setup was in the corner of the store, it still felt private and intimate. They also have gorgeous and unique glassware and all the barware needs you could fancy. We joked about starting a registry with them, just for the gorgeous glassware alone! read more

Intoxicology - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - St. Louis, Missouri

What an experience intoxicology is. How did I not know about this place? In short? A home bartenders dream. The selection, barware, glassware, and everything in between are everything even the most seasoned of bartenders will need. They have a great selection of liquor. While the actual selection is not as extensive as many liquor stores, every spirit is of the utmost quality. You will find most of the brands carried are those widely renowned as staples in classics and modern classics alike. And, they even carry cazcanes tequila which is insanely tough to get access to. Moreover, they have cocktail kits to make things easier for beginners. Tons of bitters, amari, glassware, and cocktail shakers, tins, strainers, etc. I have been twice now and the owners are super nice and helpful. This spot is going to be my new go to when stocking my home bar. read more

Intoxicology is a godsend for the home bartender. They carry a large array of hard to find, premium spirits, bitters, syrups, and more. Their actual volume of inventory is smaller than typical chain liquor stores, but this is because they only offer selections of the highest quality. I personally visit this location to source amari, bitters, and more niche liqueurs for mixing. They also carry Liber&Co which is the only brand I trust when I'm feeling too lazy to make my own syrups. On top of the consumable aspect of drinks, they offer a great selection of bar and glassware including some unique decanters and punch bowls. Up to this point I've mostly highlighted Intoxicology as the place to be for the experienced home bartender; however, they offer a wide selection of high-quality cocktail kits that our perfect for beginners in addition to workshops for those interested in diving deeper into the world of mixology. To conclude, although I'd rather keep this location a secret to protect my stock of bottles... I simply cannot recommend Intoxicology enough! read more

It's not Christmas without a trip to Intoxicology. When the majority of the people you buy gifts for are cocktail snobs, this is the place to find the absolute perfect gift. Intoxicology has some of the best premium liquors and mixers. Today I was shopping for bitters to complete a whiskey gift box I was creating. Oh, my they had so many for me to choose from. They even had small gift box of multiple samples to give the recipient variety. If your not the creative type, or just want things simple and done for you, they had pre-made gift boxes. Which makes gift giving, easy-peasy. I admit, I am a garnish snob. If I'm drinking a premium liquor in a craft cocktail, I want a garnish to be of the same quality and Intoxicology has what I need. They've got the dark cherries for my Manhattans and olives for my Dirty Martini. The gentleman woking is always friendly and makes shopping in his shop a pleasant experience. That is why I enjoy shopping local and supporting a small business. When: December 4, 2020 Why: Holiday Gifts read more

So this place was not what we were looking for. This place is an upscale liquor store with an emphasis on high-end quality liquors and cocktail bar necessities (bitters, syrups) for the fancy home cocktail aficionado. It's nice, by all means. If you live in the area and want to build a perfect home bar--this is your place. We on the other hand were tourists who were in search of a pint or two of mid-shelf booze (some white tequila most of all) for hotel-mixed cocktails. Nada, and that's fine. Graciously the person staffing the register did not judge us for our less than cultured tastes (for that evening anyway) and directed us to the closest place he could think of that might service our needs. read more

We spent an evening doing a private Cocktail Technique Workshop with the owners, Andy and Melissa, and had a great time chatting with them. We learned a lot, and enjoyed perusing the extensive collection of unique, quality liquors, liqueurs, syrups, and other bar supplies. Highly recommend doing the workshop or at least checking the place out next time you're shopping for cocktail ingredients. I'll never go back to Friar Tuck's again! read more

This place is the pinnacle of craft cocktail supply stores. They have top shelf spirits, rum, whiskey, scotch etc and the largest assortment bitters I have ever seen! I was in heaven looking at the large selection of sparkling cocktail glasses and bar tending tools. They have a very clean and nice visual display and they offer craft cocktail classes. You can sign up online. If you are looking for a hard to find spirit or you want a new flavor inspiration for your go-to gin fizz this is the place to come and get inspired. I walked out with some unique bitters and some rose simple syrup for my home bar. I can't wait to go back and find some new inspiration for a holiday drink. read more

Intoxicology - They have a great little vibe with the stereo and turn table along with a selection of pitchers and glasses. - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - St. Louis, Missouri

What a great mixology/bar/cocktail/liquor store! It doesn't have the broadest collection of liquor, but it has a little bit of everything. It has a little wine, liquor, glassware sets, bitters, cocktail mixers, etc. They also have a bar and offer cocktail classes. We were walking by and decided to stop in. And I'm glad we did. Our friends got a new liqueur to try, and my husband found a vermouth that he's been searching for for a while! Great little specialty store! read more

It seems almost wrong to review this when I just went to the store and didn't do any kind of tasting. But it's a store and that was my experience so here we go. Intoxicology had quite a bit of alcohol that I didn't look over. I mostly looked at kitchen items. I have a microkitchen at the moment and I am not inviting any more utensils into my life. I did see some of that reusable beeswax wrap, but they only had limited sizes and styles that I didn't care for. I'd like to return someday to get more of an experience. read more

5 stars! Came to Intoxicology a while back to pick-up some ingredients for a cocktail I wanted to make for a party. I couldn't help but walk around the entire shop looking at all the different ingredients, glassware, and books! Looking forward to our hands-on class (rescheduled due to COVID-19) where we get to learn from some of the best in STL! On that note, Intoxicology was very proactive in letting us know our class would need to be rescheduled to protect the health of St. Louisans. Thanks for being a responsible St. Louis business, even though that is a tough choice to make for small businesses. Check them out for your every day or special cocktail ingredients and be the host with the most! read more

As a cocktail enthusiast, I am very impressed with Intoxicology. Ever since they opened, I've visited every so often just to see what they have and boy are they kicking some butt! You can see from the pictures I've added that they have a huge variety of selection to choose from. Not only that but the bottles they have stocked are quality! If you mix at home or just enjoy particular flavors of liquor, there's a good chance you'll find what you need here. If there's something in particular you need, see if they have it by zooming in on the pictures. If you aren't sure if they have it, give them a call and they will happily let you know if they do. Most likely, they will have what you need unless you are looking for something very specialized. I also found that they have simple cocktail classes for those interested. If you check their facebook or webpage, they usually have these listed. I attended one of the courses and it was more than worth it. I got to enjoy some cocktails and also learn about the history of where they come from. This was all taught by a well known bartender so it is not just a class by some random person. If you want to know anything about cocktails and mixology, this is a great place to go. They will not talk down to you and you won't feel intimidated. Let them know you're interested in getting started and they'll gently push you in the right direction. A real gem of an addition to St Louis. read more

Yeah, I've gone back already. I've been thinking about trying my hand at making Manhattans at home, since I love them and hate to have to go out to get a good one. Weeelll, they also let you taste the bottles they sell here, and have a tiered tasting price structured, depending on what caliber liquor you want to try. In addition to having a ton of bourbons and whiskeys, they also had a selection of vermouth, ranging from sweet to dry and Andy helped me find one to suit my tastes. Since I wanted to be sure before I bought it, I tasted Monkey Shoulder, which was less sweet than I anticipated, but just as smooth as the description on the bottle. They also have classes, too, and I'll be checking the Facebook page, since they're having a class on Manhattans. read more

This place is a mixologist's dream! Intoxicology is a beautiful store that features an incredible variety of liquors from popular whiskies to more obscure mezcals and distilled beverages. Not only that, they offer classes as well!! From what I quickly saw on their blackboard I noticed some cocktail creating classes to Mezcal tastings. Should you want a copper shaker or a finger molded negroni stirrer, they also sell barware from inexpensive metal to classy beautiful coupes and everything in between. Definitely come here to start stocking your home bar at this awesome liquor store. Oh and they have tastings of every liquor they carry.... Just when you thought this place couldn't get any better! Enjoy. I did! read more

Intoxicology is not a liquor store. Intoxicology is a specialty store specializing in the craft and art which involves liquor. When you walk in, you'll be greeted by one of the owners, but not before noticing that this store is unique. The owners will ask if there's anything they can help with and if you say that you're just looking or don't need their assistance, they're just a call away. They practice the right ratio of not hovering, but being available. Now, why did I say it's not a liquor store? Selected distillers and variations of each genre is offered, and expect to see a variety. There's something for each price point, but it was carefully selected so that even more affordable bottles are of high quality. This is also a great place to learn, as they offer small cocktail and beverage classes and tastings. You've now likely learned something - either about a local distiller, or how to make a new cocktail, you've picked up a new bottle of gin or whiskey to use in that cocktail, now you want to take your bar to the next level, right? They have you covered. Offering a small assortment of professional grade bar ware - stirrers, shakers, and more! - and a very beautiful collection of glass ware. Literally this store covers everything you need, while still having a cozy atmosphere. This is a local shop that definitely needs to be on your #SmallBusinessSaturday list! read more

Best boutique liquor store in St. Louis. Not a huge selection but quality selections. Fantastic vintage bar glassware that changes often (minus the large sets) and nice barware gifts. Don't forget about the array of bitters and great ice cubes. Yes, ice cubes. Bad ass record player/cabinet w built in speakers when you walk in! Classic, cool place. read more

Amazing selection of liquors to complete your home bat along with books on the subject

I definitely need to come back here someday. my friends and i stopped here after brunch and tea. we were pretty much ready to food coma. there was a rum tasting -- i tried 3 different types. the woman behind the counter was very helpful. she talked to me about the differences and how different places calculate the age of the booze differently. she gave me space to think about the flavors i was experiencing and answered a lot of questions. everything about this place is wonderful. it's well organized, has helpful staff, and you can sample booze before you spend WAY TOO MUCH on them. they also have a lot of really fun books. i'll definitely be back when i decide to expand my collection of alcohol. read more

Intoxicology - All the specialty goodies you need!! - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - St. Louis, Missouri

Great new place, first class all the way, we were there this pas weekend for a Gin tasting, really great time, super helpful staff.

Went last night for a "class" to celebrate a birthday. The people that owned the place were very nice and accommodating. The set up was really nice for a small group get together. We were told the cost to attend the class was $25.00 each. They made 5 drinks and gave everyone a sample (an ounce or two) of each. Imagine my surprise when I went to pay for my class and found out I was charged $5 for each sample. I think $55.00 was a little much for what was given. There were a couple of drinks I didn't even drink, a sip told me it wasn't my type of drink. There wasn't much to the class except Ed? emphasizing how to shake a drink shaker properly and advising us to put the cheaper ingredients in first in case you make a mistake. Definitely not worth the money. I think at the least they should have let us know in the beginning that we were going to be charged for each sample and let us decide if we wanted to pay that much for each. A cute place, but the 'class' definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Won't be back. read more
