We were gifted the cocktail making class and 10/10 would recommend! The owners were engaging, provided hands-on education, and made the entire experience a blast. We learned new things and even got to "perfect" some egg white cocktails, along with our double straining skills. The drinks we made were delicious and the conversation flowed. Although the setup was in the corner of the store, it still felt private and intimate. They also have gorgeous and unique glassware and all the barware needs you could fancy. Intoxicology is a godsend for the home bartender. They carry a large array of hard to find, premium spirits, bitters, syrups, and more. Their actual volume of inventory is smaller than typical chain liquor stores, but this is because they only offer selections of the highest quality. I personally visit this location to source amari, bitters, and more niche liqueurs for mixing. They also carry Liber&Co which is the only brand I trust when I'm feeling too lazy to make my own syrups. On top of the consumable aspect of drinks, they offer a great selection of bar and glassware including some unique decanters and punch bowls. Up to this point I've mostly highlighted Intoxicology as the place to be for the experienced home bartender; however, they offer a wide selection of high-quality cocktail kits that our perfect for beginners in addition to workshops for those interested in diving deeper into the world of mixology. So this place was not what we were looking for. This place is an upscale liquor store with an emphasis on high-end quality liquors and cocktail bar necessities (bitters, syrups) for the fancy home cocktail aficionado. It's nice, by all means. If you live in the area and want to build a perfect home bar--this is your place. We on the other hand were tourists who were in search of a pint or two of mid-shelf booze (some white tequila most of all) for hotel-mixed cocktails. Nada, and that's fine. This place is the pinnacle of craft cocktail supply stores. They have top shelf spirits, rum, whiskey, scotch etc and the largest assortment bitters I have ever seen! I was in heaven looking at the large selection of sparkling cocktail glasses and bar tending tools. They have a very clean and nice visual display and they offer craft cocktail classes. It seems almost wrong to review this when I just went to the store and didn't do any kind of tasting. But it's a store and that was my experience so here we go. Intoxicology had quite a bit of alcohol that I didn't look over. I mostly looked at kitchen items. I have a microkitchen at the moment and I am not inviting any more utensils into my life. I did see some of that reusable beeswax wrap, but they only had limited sizes and styles that I didn't care for. I'd like to return someday to get more of an experience. read more

I couldn't help but walk around the entire shop looking at all the different ingredients, glassware, and books! As a cocktail enthusiast, I am very impressed with Intoxicology. Ever since they opened, I've visited every so often just to see what they have and boy are they kicking some butt! You can see from the pictures I've added that they have a huge variety of selection to choose from. Not only that but the bottles they have stocked are quality! If you mix at home or just enjoy particular flavors of liquor, there's a good chance you'll find what you need here. If there's something in particular you need, see if they have it by zooming in on the pictures. If you aren't sure if they have it, give them a call and they will happily let you know if they do. Most likely, they will have what you need unless you are looking for something very specialized. I also found that they have simple cocktail classes for those interested. If you check their facebook or webpage, they usually have these listed. I attended one of the courses and it was more than worth it. I got to enjoy some cocktails and also learn about the history of where they come from. This was all taught by a well known bartender so it is not just a class by some random person. If you want to know anything about cocktails and mixology, this is a great place to go. They will not talk down to you and you won't feel intimidated. Yeah, I've gone back already. I've been thinking about trying my hand at making Manhattans at home, since I love them and hate to have to go out to get a good one. Weeelll, they also let you taste the bottles they sell here, and have a tiered tasting price structured, depending on what caliber liquor you want to try. In addition to having a ton of bourbons and whiskeys, they also had a selection of vermouth, ranging from sweet to dry and Andy helped me find one to suit my tastes. Since I wanted to be sure before I bought it, I tasted Monkey Shoulder, which was less sweet than I anticipated, but just as smooth as the description on the bottle. I definitely need to come back here someday. my friends and i stopped here after brunch and tea. we were pretty much ready to food coma. there was a rum tasting -- i tried 3 different types. the woman behind the counter was very helpful. she talked to me about the differences and how different places calculate the age of the booze differently. she gave me space to think about the flavors i was experiencing and answered a lot of questions. everything about this place is wonderful. it's well organized, has helpful staff, and you can sample booze before you spend WAY TOO MUCH on them. they also have a lot of really fun books. i'll definitely be back when i decide to expand my collection of alcohol. read more

Great new place, first class all the way, we were there this pas weekend for a Gin tasting, really great time, super helpful staff.

Went last night for a "class" to celebrate a birthday. The people that owned the place were very nice and accommodating. The set up was really nice for a small group get together. We were told the cost to attend the class was $25.00 each. They made 5 drinks and gave everyone a sample (an ounce or two) of each. Imagine my surprise when I went to pay for my class and found out I was charged $5 for each sample. I think $55.00 was a little much for what was given. There were a couple of drinks I didn't even drink, a sip told me it wasn't my type of drink. There wasn't much to the class except Ed? emphasizing how to shake a drink shaker properly and advising us to put the cheaper ingredients in first in case you make a mistake. Definitely not worth the money. I think at the least they should have let us know in the beginning that we were going to be charged for each sample and let us decide if we wanted to pay that much for each. A cute place, but the 'class' definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Won't be back. read more
