Star Castle Family Entertainment Center

Star Castle Family Entertainment Center

I love roller skating. I have been taking my family to star castle for years. My children are now…read moreolder . I really missed skating. I decided to look up Star Castle. They are still open after all of these years . I ended up inviting another mom friend of mine that is becoming an empty nestor. We went on a Thursday evening. We were intimidated to get on skates again. I had my own skates that are pretty old. She rented a pair of skates. The rentals could of been a little better. It was so much fun. There was an attendant working that helped us get to the center of the rink where the beginners go . I was delighted to see so many people of all ages having a great time. There are some really talented skaters in Savannah. The new skates have lights on their wheels. The atmosphere was family friendly . It brought back so many memories of taking my boys there when they were little. I wish they were open more hours . Apparently, Sunday night is adult night. I'm sure it would be fun to watch so many of the talented skaters. We ended the night sore but without any falls. My muscles that I forgot I had ached next day. I forgot what a great workout skating can be. I hope to return again sooner than later.

Unfortunately, after stopping in for my first visit it will probably be my last. I came in for a…read moreSaturday night r & b event and from walking in the door the staff was extremely rude. The party started at 9pm and all the concessions and gaming areas were closed and roped off. There were at least 250 people at the event and there was no means for food or drinks at a 3 hour event. For what was a very nice event, was ruined by the unwillingness of the staff at the facility to properly accommodate the event. The staff also pushed unprofessional skaters off the floor with limited options to skate elsewhere. Just not welcoming all around for a group of people who just wanted to have a good night out.

Whoa, I was not prepared for how amazing this place was!…read more When we first arrived I thought it would be just kind of a silly tourist trap thing, but boy was I wrong! It is a very large collection of everything spooky, odd and strange! There are entire rooms focused on serial killers, such as Gacy, HH Holmes and Richard Ramirez. We were in there for a very long time and learned so much from the women running the tour. There was even a guy in our group who had been childhood friends with one of Gacy's victims, which was incredibly surreal and really hit home how real all of this was, and not just entertainment. They also have, or are going to have, another location in Chicago which is very exciting and I would definitely seek that out next time I am there. All in all a 10/10 experience.

This museum was MUCH bigger than I anticipated. We spent about an hour and a half and easily could…read morehave spent another or so in there learning and listening to the gals educate the group. There was so much to read, so much to see, and so much to experience. This is a very dark museum so if you have a weak stomach, are faint of heart if easily disturbed I would not recommend. Even still you are heavily warned about what is in each room should you not want to see or experience something by the staff. They were so helpful!! Their regular price is $25 OR $50 for a two day pass, tshirt, tote (or a pin), and sticker. Absolutely great deal if you're wanting some merch. Very spooky, eerie, and overall an interesting time!

Totally Awesome Bar - Decent to the bar!

Well this bar lives up to the name of being totally awesome! Out on a friday night I wasn't ready…read moreto call it a night. I found that TAB was kinda on my route back to the hotel so I headed that way on a solo adventure. Unlike the droves of other bars nearby, this one is tucked away by itself and downstairs in a basement. The vibe is all 80's/90's and heavy on nostalgia for millennials. I loved the beetlejuice snake popping in and out of the ceiling! There is a whole room of pool tables, a section of arcade games, and other fun activities like a photo booth. Maybe it's because I was in a good mood and a few cocktails deep, but the DJ was crushing it. He finished up with karaoke right as I arrived, but for the rest of the night he kept the energy high with amazing mixes. I couldn't bear to miss any jams so I ended up staying until close and finishing out the night. I can't wait for my next visit to SAV to come back.

I have been to Totally Awesome Bar a few times, but on this Saturday afternoon it was pretty empty…read more It was actually the perfect opportunity for me and some girlfriends to make our own fun. There's literally a photo-booth, pool tables, arcade games and a bar with great drink options which are very reasonable. The bartender was very attentive and assertive to what we needed. We literally just had a great time for hours and the bartender was so helpful in just including himself in on our shenanigans and even taking our pictures when needed. I really love the old school decor. You can find everything from a VCR to the old school TV shows playing in the background, old school games, they even had this scary looking doll lamp and different nik knacks throughout the location. The bathroom was super cute with different paintings on the wall and it was so clean and not expected of what you would see in a bar. I definitely want to come back for karaoke or some of the other themed nights.
