I usually go to Safeway even though it's farther away because every time I come here I have a weird issue. An older cashier with dark hair always tells me to pick up my receipt if I forget it and will get sarcastic if I don't reply when she says have a goodnight or something. I will always say have a goodnight back to someone, except for her because she's just rude for no reason. read more

I'm just updating my review because I forgot to mention Whitney and Connie and Sarah by name as having helped me, I really do believe that the store is making improvements from what it used to be, and with the new Starbucks opening up next week in the same parking lot, I believe there will be some positive changes. Also, to my surprise, there are some unique items that are low carb keto, friendly, and lots of organic options of their own sunshine brand. And Nathan and Stephanie, and Cisco, who stands there bagging everyone's groceries without complaint. Is this place great? I shopped on my way to work 8:43 Am on 2/20/25. the two cashiers were in a long conversation about Daisy's niece and what they chose at Target. I waited and finally said I was on my way to work could they ring me. They were annoyed. How dare a customer ask for customer service! Then an item did not come up for the discount price on the sign above it. Shamala, not sure of her spelling, went to look it up and started telling me the price was not 99 cents. Of course not, it was 99 cents off. She was incredibly rude, hollering before she even was close to the cashier checkout. I said, prices are always off here and that's why I don't shop here often. Daisy then said to me " you are banned from shopping here in the future!" Excuse me, this store needs to have an employee overhaul. You bet I won't step foot in Lucky's, and I will tell all my family and friends to not shop here again. These two young ladies should be fired! Beware.. a weird thing happens when you map this address out with your phone using Apple Maps. If you map it out with this address... it may also get you lost. We learned the hard way. The weird thing is - I reported that address as bogus, got the real Luckys 2 miles north of this location. It might have something to do with Google and Apple maps not knowing which part of Gravenstein HW is which. I even pinpointed the location/ coordinates to Yelp and submitted a picture last Feb but it all still fell into this review. Long story short, if you do try to come to Luckys, make sure you know that if you cannot find it, travel north until you do... it is right by CVS and Fiesta supermarket. It is a big grocery with a shared lot, you cannot miss it. This Lucky is good, or has improved (probably) since 2011, based on earlier review. Just your average run-of-the-mill grocery. :) read more

The app and the digital tags under most items on sale are so lame. I went up to the checkstand, hoping somebody could help me out with the app like they so nicely did last time, but this time some woman named Daisy was the clerk in the checkout, and she was absolutely horrible and an absolute B. She said "well you should be able to figure it out". I said well maybe I'm not as text savvy as you. She is assuming this because just because I am younger. It was horrible. I live close, and I have for almost 35 years and I will never go back there again. I love this store! Believe me, I have tried all the rest in the county and Lucky is simply the best. It has EVERYTHING and the best prices. If you want it they have organic and gluten free and dairy alternatives and good supplements as well as good fish and meat department, bakery and florist. This has to be the worst grocery store around. You HAVE to check every products expiration date or you will be sure to get expired foods. The garlic bread that had labels pasted over labels and was nearly a week old that made our family sick was unfortunately not a one off experience. I just got coffee for my wife and forgot to check the label and it's expired by nearly 2 years! How does this store get away with it??? This store isn't terrible- not nearly as bad as might be expected when one observes that no one ever shops there. In most respects, it's just like the Safeway down the street, although the bakery items are more expensive and bread and canned goods are sometimes a bit cheaper. They also don't carry as many alternative and natural foods, but they do supply my favorite brand of tofu at a reasonable price. Occasionally it pays to check out their OTC meds, as they often have better deals than does CVS. Employees look bored, but will assist you if asked. read more

We shopped here on New Year's Day. It was quiet, which was nice. Stock was pretty good; although, they were restocking the packaged meat section which had limited choices of stew meat that we were looking for. We noticed most of the reviews are dated. We'll be back. read more

I find the store nice if you know what your looking for. But three times now I have purchased a product only to find when I get home it's gone bad, on the shelf way passed its expiration date.. Milk, cottage cheese etc. I know I have to learn to read the label and not trust the store to keep on top of it. I never get a friendly hello or acknowledgement by people that work there. read more

Customer service.......this must be skipped in the training. The fact that you wait in line forever, get unfriendly service and the workers could care less in helping you find anything. I asked the girl working in produce if they had any corn on the cob, being everyone is carrying it, and she asked if I wanted the prepackaged kind and I said no, the full corn with the husks. A good overall store, the past few weeks have felt a little more dead than usual but other than that it seems pretty normal. I have never gotten a bad product from Lucky's, yet. The deli is usually quick and the bakery girls are pretty cute, especially the tall black haired one that wears a jacket. Most of the front staff are nice as well. When I come in for a product in the sale flyer and it is not available, one should be given a raincheck for future use. Any store would do this. They said that because they lost a lot of food due to the recent fire they refused to give me a raincheck. Many of us have taken a loss due to the fire. Dino is the slowest checker I have ever, ever seen. Often he is the only checker available. My family and neighbor has nicknamed this store Suckys. The only reason to go is for comic relief. Every time I go I feel like I'm being filmed for an episode of 'Punked' or Candid Camera. This is my "go to" grocery store. The employees are friendly and helpful, and I usually find everything I want, and then some. Also, I like the Sebastopol Lucky store because the aisles are wide and uncluttered. I don't feel like the displays are closing in on me like in some stores. This store continues to go downhill. The meat and fish department smells. Many of the checkers are surly and rude. They don't carry many of the brands that I regularly buy. They have taken out there bike racks in front of the store. Yesterday I bought sliced meat from the deli. I was the only customer and it took about 5 minutes to get waited on. The woman behind the counter was mixing up a huge salad and pretty much ignored me. When she finally did slice my meat and bag it, the bag that she put it in was so slimy( from her hands) that I asked for another bag. She put the greasy slimy bag inside a new bag that was almost as slimy and handed,it to me YUCK! What a horrible store!!!!!! read more

I used to love this place till all the name changes. Then the brands that I liked where gone as where the low prices. I actually went in this past week for the first time in a couple years and it was creepy deserted. The beer I picked up was actually more than the local convenience store and upon popping one open I discovered the fridge there is just cold enough to chill the bottle and not the contents. Have been shopping here for 35 years and will not return again. Took in a gift certificate we won at a fair for C&H Sugar - free 25 lbs. I got my sugar, handed the coupon to the checker, whose English was extremely difficult to understand. She hadn't seen one like this do she got her manager. The manager hadn't seen one and only decided to check with the manager after I pushed the issue. After waiting over 23 minutes they finally came back and said they would give me 4 lbs for my 25 lb coupon! What customer service! I told them to keep their sugar and my entire shopping cart and I walked out. Straight to Safeway where they honored my coupon! I absolutely love the Amich butter they are carrying now. I could not believe the taste & flavor. The store was out of it & the head butcher DEREK overheard me talking about it & approached me & said he will check into it & make sure that the order comes in. Sure enough, he got it in in 3 days after I waited 3 weeks. This is what he overheard me saying. He was a tremendous help. Also I would like to add, this is my favorite store to shop. The clerks are friendly & helpful & I always leave laughing after talking to the clerks. It is a very friendly relaxed atmoshere which you will N-E-V-E-R see at Safeway. This place is garbage.. I just saw the most viscous attack on one of their own customers. A transient guy... seen him around town a few times. He's not bad or nothing very soft-spoken normally. Anyways some over-zealous and authority driven supervisor ran out the store after him. I just watched him ring everything up at one of them self pay things put his receipt and stuff in his pocket. The supervisor whistled at him like an animal and placed a hand on his shoulder just outside the doors on the other-side of the doors and demanded to see his receipt. You could tell the transient guy didn't like this as he had to step back in anger from the manager. He (Transient) asked asked the supervisor where the policy was saying he could demand for him to produce any proof of purchase was. The supervisor then straight up told him that he'd stolen the item's. The transient tells the supervisor that he's "Lucky" that he doesn't punch him in his ugly little honker. I found this very humorous but then what I saw next after the transient had began to calm down bothered me the worst. This guy had paid for a meal and been accused of stealing and even told he had to go into his pockets or backpack to provide a receipt broke his 4th amendment rights as a citizen. He had a reason to be all upset. If you don't nobody notices.. people just keep walking. The manager then threatened to change the homeless persons words up and have him arrested under lies because he wouldn't leave the store. read more

I don't know why all the bad complaints, I have been coming here for years and always get good service.Very recently they've had store manager change, and the service and staffing has just gotten better. This place is horrible for customer service. They always wait until there are a lot of customers before they call up a checker. the checkers ignore the customer and talk to each other as they are checking you out. The deli people are bad because no matter how you tell them you want your lunch meat cut they just do it the way they want. I decided today I will stop shopping there. read more

I don't know about all Lucky stores but the Sebastopol store has issues with meat and seafood freshness as well as expiration dates. I bought a package of organic chicken breasts yesterday and did not check the expiration date, which I usually do. I was in a hurry and had my grandbaby with me. When I got home I realized the sell or freeze by date was the day before. I opened it and sure enough it was rotten. The smell gagged me. This is not the first time this has happened and I'm getting a little sick and tired of it. There are other places to shop. I've also bought sliced cheese and found mold in between the slices as well as sour cream with mold on it. The bread is very bad about expiration dates also. Who wants to buy a loaf of bread with an expiration date of tomorrow?? Not me. The manager of the store gave me a refund and gave me something at no charge to compensate for my trouble, which I appreciated, but there is no excuse for them selling rotten meat and moldy items. I would expect things like this to happen at say Grocery Outlet, but this is Lucky's. I expect more from them than this. Just beware and always check expiration dates throughout the store. read more
