Unsatisfied with the color and the shape. I told the lady three times but I didn't like to shave and she continued.

I went in to get my nails done like I always do every two weeks, I had to wait which was ok. I finally got called for my turn and the lady Ming, slapped on some acrylic didn't shape them like you are supposed to, she filed and the nails were lopsided, high on on side or the other, she was getting mad at me and threw the file at me and said here, you fix it.....! I about fell out of my chair. So I fixed the uneven nails the best I could, paid which I shouldn't have, but I went to my car and cried, because after goung to the same place for a year I thought I would be considered a regular, guess not. If you don't have time to do walkins then just say so. I'm still working on my nails the acrylic is still stuck to my skin...never again, you lost a loyal customer who told everyone where I went read more

Only put one star cause I can't put zero. I went in for a full set and on the phone they said it would be 35 dollars. I got in there and showed her what I wanted and she said 55 because she "had to do gel" which isn't true cause I've had the exact same design done other places and gel wasn't needed for them. And if I wanted them any longer than at my finger tips it was extra money. Then I asked her to fix one of the nails because it was crooked and she said it wasn't. I asked if she could make them a little bit shorter and she cut them almost completely down to my fingers, she never once asked if that was the length I wanted. The glue was all over the sides of my nails and the nail polish was so thick you could see all the layers if you looked at the side of my hands. When I asked at the end if she could fix it she said no it's 55 dollars to redo it because she wouldn't fix them. I would have had to pay to soak them off and have her redo them because she couldn't do nails correctly. I had to come home and completely redo my nails. read more

The pedicure was horrible. I went with a friend who got a manicure and mine was done at least 10 minutes sooner than hers. It was very rushed. The main issue is the paint job. It looks like a kindergartener tried to paint between the lines. I will need to go somewhere else before leaving for vacation to get them re painted. My friends manicure looked good. read more

As a fourth year college student in Columbia, I've been going from shop to shop searching for the right nail salon. Bad news- I still haven't found it. I was very impressed with Lucky Nails' atmosphere. Very welcoming and all of the employees are friendly. The wait was rather long for a random Monday afternoon, but I had an early morning flight the next day and decided to say. My nail technician was nice. I just was not satisfied at all with the outcome of my nails. I decided to get a full set with my nails dipped. The color on the sample was titled "caramel", and was a rich brown tone. If you look at my attached pictures, I left out with a pink color. I do not believe that this was necessarily their fault, but I was not satisfied at all. I also asked for the shape and length in the third attached photo and received work that I quite frankly could've done myself. After spending 2.5 hours in the nail shop, I left and debated on coming back to ask if the nail tech could fix my nails. They agreed immediately to fix the work and apologized of which I was very pleased and thankful for. This nail tech reshaped my nails and also put a coat of regular brown polish on top. Needless to say, it started chipping two days later, and I lost a whole nail that day as well. The set did not last at all. Although I enjoyed the atmosphere, the work was very subpar, and unfortunately I will not be returning. 2 stars for the great service, none for the work. I'm sorry! read more

Ugh... you know its bad when a person starts with Ugh. Seriously, do not go here! I am writing this review as a warning/courtesy to others. I have gone to Lucky Nails many times, it continues to go down hill, extremely long wait times and what finally had me done with this place.... I went for a fill, not only was it a crappy job, but not even 2 weeks later, I am removing the polish and see I have a nail fungus!! Never ever have I had such a nasty thing, Thank God I was changing polish or who knows how bad it would have become, so I thought maybe I should take off all my acrylics to make sure its no where else and there is. They did a good job on my mani pedi. However the place is very dirty. Like everything is scattered everywhere. They need a deep clean for sure. The stations need to be deep cleaned. The tools they used were sanitized, so that wasn't the issue. They just need to spend some time giving the place a good scrubbing! I would go back though! read more

THE BEST NAIL PLACE IN COLUMBIA FOR ACRYLICS. BY FAR. the techs here are the sweetest ever and so good at what they do. making an appt two or three days in advance helps get in and out fast, with an appt I got in before the appt time even. my nails are absolutely beautiful and I'm in love. all of my friends go here and I've never heard a bad review. these other reviews are whack. this is the best place to get any shape other than square in all of Columbia. AND THEY LAST INSANELY LONG. I've never talked to anyone that went here that had them on for less than 3.5 weeks. They stay and they're tough. my friends have weight lifted daily with them and never had a broke nail even when she goes hard. All in all, best acrylics I've ever had. I wanted to like this place. I asked coffin shape, they were more square. I went with dip, they didn't have much of a selection of color. I felt like I was bothering her by being there. Several began lifting within the first week. My fingers hurt for several days afterwards and I had several hang nails pop up that were painful. There was glue under my nail on my skin. Maybe that's why they lifted, the glue was on my finger not on the nail. I went somewhere else and had them removed and done correctly after 3 weeks and several times of having to reglue the ones that were lifting. They were busy. The lady next to me has a much friendlier person doing her nails. But she had a nail that had fallen off too. Based on how much growth she had it hadn't been too long since her last time I'm there. I stopped in on a Friday here as a walk in and it was quite busy. I waited about 20 minutes which I felt was reasonable as a walk in on a Friday. The service was so-so. It seems they grind off gel polish instead of soaking it. I prefer a soak myself as its gentler on the nails. I asked for a simple straight line of dots as nail art - who knew something so simple could be so difficult. Lol. I only asked for it on two nails and they managed a straight line on one. Hmmm ... I went to my appointment and was assisted immediately. I was very pleased with my pedicure, but when I went to get an acrylic nail set the nails were put on crooked and nail glue was left all over my fingers. when they shaped and file down the nails they didn't brush or wash off the excess dust that coated my hands. When putting on the coat of acrylic powder they applied it bumpy and uneven and didn't fix it before applying the nail polish. When I went back the next day to get them fixed I had to wait for them to even look at my nails and when they finally got to me all they did was file the nails down slightly changing the length and shape, not actually fixing anything. When I told them they weren't fixed and that I wasn't happy with the nails they told me that they agreed that my nails were crooked, but it was not their fault and that it was the shape of my fingers that made the nails crooked. They refused to fix the set I had and if I wanted a new set not only would I have to pay another $45 they also told me the new set would look the same and have the same problems. I have gotten acrylic sets multiple times from other salons that have always been perfect and straight, and people doing my nails have never had an issue with the shape of my fingers or even mentioned them to me. read more

I didn't even trust the guy to paint my toe nails by the end of the service and then it's still $25 for them to touch your feet with no polish and that's it. I wish I could give this place more stars! I have been coming here for months and they always do beautiful work. Once I had a nail fall off a couple days after I got my set, and they fixed it (and touched up/reinforced all my other nails) for free! Everyone who works here is so friendly and helpful and you can skip the wait by making an appointment - you can usually even get one the day before. I don't usually get my nails or toes done unless it's for a special occasion (I haven't found a place in Columbia that is worth the time and money or I would probably make it a much regular thing) but I have been to this place twice in the past year. The first time my experience was much better than the last. I went there three days ago and have been meaning to write this ever since. I had a mani/pedi. The pedicure was okay. Nothing to write home about by any means but I at least felt like some care and attention was put into it to some degree. The manicure, however, felt completely half assed. Usually I start off by having my fingers soaked in a bowl then have cuticles trimmed. The guy who did it for me had me sit down and immediately started filing my nails, buffed them, and then applied gel polish. As the last few days have gone on I have been even more disappointed, especially as the polish has started to pull away from the dried skin around the nail, my cuticles, and tiny hang nails. I keep my nails short for work but that doesn't mean I don't want care to be taken when actually paying for nail services. No soaking or cuticle care at all. I just keep wondering when I will finally find a place in Columbia worth my time and money and not be left feeling disappointed and annoyed. read more

Lucky nails provides excellent service. My fills are always pristine and last 2 weeks or more, the tools are always clean, the people always cordial. So what then, you might ask, is the issue? The issue is that regardless of making an appointment or calling in advance, they can never seem to give you a straight answer on how long you have to wait. For instance, I called in advance and I specifically asked if there would be a wait. I was told no, there will be no wait. And yet there I sat at the front of the room with 5 other people for 30 minutes waiting. The real issue is professionalism. I understand not wanting to lose business but there comes a point when honesty trumps potential business. read more

Make sure you know what you're getting. I asked for a hard gel manicure, but I got acrylic. (Hard gel is like a thick nail polish, and acrylic is a liquid and powder that they mix together before putting on your nails). I was fine with this since I've gotten it before. (But it was super thin so I actually put gel nail polish over it once I got home to make sure it wouldn't break on me.) They only did one layer! Which usually you'll get two or three. Then not only that, but they charged me for gel!! (Hard gel manicures are about $35 and acrylic manicures are about $25. I figured the tip was in the higher price so I didn't leave one.) Don't come here if you want a hard gel nail manicure; they don't do it. Also, don't come here if you want a strong acrylic manicure; they're flimsy. read more

Do not come here and expect to get gel nails. I called before hand and they told me yes. Well she takes off my gel polish and begins to fill with acrylic. I stop her. I said no no I want gel. She says oh you want gel powder. (No such thing) she comes back with more acrylic powder and does my nails. She says oh you don't like the acrylic? I'm mad she thinks I'm a fool. Disappointed! Went in for a Mani and Pedi. They did an excellent job on the pedicure but be careful not to be fooled by the shine and pretty color on your nails. In less than 24 hours my polish peeled off, not chipped but peeled. Chipping I understand but not peeling. The polished came off in 1 piece, as if there was something applied to my nails to help with easy removal. After a few days I also noticed that my cuticles were not pushed back or clipped. I have been to this location 3 times. First visit - Went in for a new full set of acrylics; she PRIED off my old nails, this hurt quite a bit as you can imagine, but I needed a new nail salon (my last nail artist had gone back to Korea), she used the grinder so long in several places I had to jerk my hand away from her 3 times! Resulting nails looked nice but 2 of my cuticles were bleeding (no, I did not get a manicure first.) Second visit - Went in for fill, gentleman did not pay close attention to what he was doing, was watching girls coming in to sit down instead of work, fill was painless BUT had 2 spots where lift up of nail edges had not been removed and there were grey/brown-ish area seen in white tips, ends rough/scratchy. Third visit - asked for manager to look at fill that was completed prior visit, she told me that they looked good, that they looked normal for a fill (I have NEVER had this before from any fill I have EVER gotten before), she tried using acetone to remove ugliness from tip area, gave in and said they would redo the gel polish, next person looks at the nails and say they look good, then gets mad because she was just going to grind off gel polish and redo, I asked if she thought that would fix the bad looking patches at the tips, she walks away and says someone else will do them; same gentleman that did the fill tried saying the same things but added that my nails were old and that is what a fill looks like (it had been exactly 2 weeks since she put them on), after repeating myself multiple times he ground off the polish and the bad areas, fixed the 2 lift up spots and re-polished them. They look much better!...but I will not go back. You should have more pride in your work and not send a customer out the door with a half decent job completed. I went in there a few days before the 4th of July. My normal place could not fit me in, and I found Lucky Nails online. I called ahead to ask about the wait or if I could make an appointment and the woman on the phone told me I could just walk in. I walked into a 2 hour wait. I expected it to be busy, but 2 hours was a bit much. I put my name down and went shopping at the surrounding stores. Once I was done with that, I went back into the salon. There was not nearly enough seating and there were no magazines to read or anything like that. There were at least 10 other people waiting with me, none of us being attended. Once my name was finally called, I went back and told the girl I wanted gel nails. She looked annoyed, as if I were taking up more time than I needed. She rushed through my appointment, not even leaving my nails under the UV light until it was off. I had polish all over my hands. She did not clip my cuticles, ask me how long I wanted my nails, or even ask how my day was. She was too busy talking to the girl next to her. I also noticed what looked to be a smudge in my nail. If I noticed it, she certainly noticed it. She did nothing to correct it. Needless to say, I left unhappy. A few weeks later when I went to my normal place, the woman doing my nails pointed out the "smudge" and told me it was bubbling. This happens when the polish is painted on too thick. I was furious. I decided to treat both my daughter and myself to Botha pedi and mani. I've heard about this place but never actually visited until yesterday. I signed in for both my daughter and myself and waited patiently until we were called. I'm thinking not too long of a wait since it was still packed with about 20 customers and they finishing up a lot of those customers quickly that was in there. As we continue to wait, in walked 2 more customers. At this time it's 5:50pm. Five minutes after that 2 more customers walked and signed in. There was a young lady that came to the front desk area, looked at the names and walked up to the first 2 young ladies that signed in after me. I politely explained that we were next and even another employee translated in their language that we were next because she looked at me and continued to escort the other 2 ladies to the back. I politely walked up to the counter and asked why we weren't next and I was ignored. Now at this point I am becoming upset so I told my daughter that we are leaving. Terrible customer service and I will never set foot in their again! Oh well, it was there listening because I was coming to spend at least $150 for all of both my daughter and I services. read more

Not only did I have to go back because my acrylic nails began to peel and crack, I had to be in there for an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment at 2:30. They were rude and then charged me $15 for the nails that they needed to fix...this place is unsanitary, they use the same utensils they used on the other client right before me, I was appalled. This is my fourth time there... thinking that I can keep giving them a try... they are always busy, so you think they would be a decent nail place to go to, but no.
