This is a Thai place now (didn't catch the name) and don't be deterred by the exterior. We stopped in during a long drive and tried two dishes. The best one was the peanut one with chicken and rice. I got N2 and it was good, but I'd recommend the peanut dish over it. I also got it hot and would rate the spice a little above what I would call medium. We came in on a night that there wasn't sit-in dining, so we grabbed our food to go. If we were able to eat in, I'd have tried a drink or two. I tried this place as I was starving for Chinese so i stopped by and ordered orange chicken to go as they don't have their dining room open. Place looked abandoned on the outside and can't tell if they're open or not so you need to walk up to the front door under canopy to see. Order was taken and it was ready quickly enough. Got home ready to chow down and what a disappointment! I wasn't expecting much because yeah it's in the middle of no where and Chinese isn't that popular but jeeze they could at least try a little. Chicken was extremely tough like it was cooked all day long and couldn't even swallow it, fried rice looked like it was as a month old thrown in microwave just to make hot, and broccoli was so so. We live in the next town over, and decided to try this place out. It sits in the front of a creepy looking motel off the 70. The buffet was over, so they gave us a menu to order from. We ordered : Cashew chicken- Very tasty Combination fried rice- Delish Vegetable Rice Noodle- Super tasty We also had some egg rolls, wonton soup and fried shrimp- EVERYTHING was really, really good. We were pleasantly surprised. We are definitely coming back to try other items on the menu. The girl that greets you doesn't speak English that great, so you have to be patient and listen carefully and speak clearly. We arrived in Burlington late at night as a hungry family of six. With four kids stuck inside a van all day, we thought it best not to attempt a restaurant and ordered delivery instead. Like the other reviews, we never would have ordered from this place without the several recommendations. Pros: the food was delivered REALLY fast, like freaky fast; it was warm; it didn't taste terrible; we didn't get food poisoning; they brought us three forks. Cons: the phone lady was difficult to understand and not at all helpful, she also hung up so quickly I didn't get a chance to finish my order or ask for plates/forks; this food was definitely edible, but not anywhere near good, I wouldn't even say average, it was very bland; three forks and six hungry people is no bueno Being the only delivery place in Burlington, there really isn't another option. I've had worse, but that's all I can say about the Lucky Garden. read more

The food is great! However we didn't get some of what was ordered and some of the food wasn't what we ordered. It was next to impossible to have these issues corrected as the lady didn't speak much if any English. When it came to paying our tab we were overcharged or charged incorrectly but having that corrected was not happening, Everything was written in Chinese except for our total which she waved in my face because she couldn't articulate in English the amount. read more

This is the best Chinese restaurant on the I-70, it's definitely something to eat at when you're hungry.

Normally I would never step foot into a Chinese restaurant in the middle of nowhere that's also connected to a low budget motel, but there are very few dining options in Burlington and I decided to take a chance. Once you walk in, the restaurant inside is very clean and decorative. I placed a to-go order, which came out 20 minutes later and around $17 for two entrees, but honestly my girlfriend and I could have shared one because they gave us SO much food. They proudly serve no MSG, and the beef in my low mein was better than Chinese takeout in most areas. I'm so glad I took a chance! read more

Horrible! Stopped for some take out buffet. Expensive and charged me extra for the soup. It ridiculous to charge extra since my take out was less than one plate of dine in food. The white rice was dry and broccoli was covered with oil. Not recommend. read more

We would never have stopped @ an Asian buffet restaurant while traveling except we read a review of this restaurant on another website & the trailblazer who wrote his review was responsible for every other reviewer (road traveler) stopping in & trying the Lucky Garden. I am no exception. It was a great experiment. The food was good, the pans of food on the steam table were monitored & replenished often, the service was courteous & quick, the fortune cookies were delish, and they serve a tea called Thai Tea that is heavenly. So, if you like to try new things on your journeys, be they short or long, try The Lucky Garden. You will be very pleased & most satisfied. Gotta be honest, we were just passing through the area and I was a little skeptical when we finally found it.(its def a hole in "hotel" kinda place) but the lady was super friendly and even with a language barrier we were able to figure it out (we are from alabama and I figure she didn't get our southern twang) The menu was well priced and the food was quick and delicious. I was very hesitant to stop for Chinese in the middle of nowhere, but was very pleased with the whole experience. It is located in the Burlington hotel that looks shady from the outside but the restaurant is very clean and nice inside. We were in a hurry and from the time we sat down to the time we left was less than 40 min for a family of four at 6:30pm. The girl working was very nice and on top of things. The food was pretty standard Chinese and I have no complaints about it. Nothing mind blowing but not bad at all. Wonton soup was awesome. We eat Chinese at least 1x a week so I have experience lol. read more
