It's spacious and offers an okay range of UK goodies. I found the grocery selection to be not the best out there when it comes to the two aisles, but they offer the classics and goodies--a good range of sweets. They have a frozen section that offers frozen meat pies, bread and chips. The real standout here is the bakery, of course. The bakery is considerably big and stocked with all the classic make-you-feel-good home items. They have multiple types of meat pies however one of my favs is Steak & Guinness. The bakery offers pasties, scotch eggs and a good selection of cakes. The staff are always happy to help at the counter and enjoy sharing information about their cakes. I've been back a few times since it's opening and it is great when you want to quickly pop in and grab some basics and scoop some meat pies and sausage rolls.

Since the closure of But'n Ben Scottish bakery in Pickering, there hasn't been another bakery to get good meat pies from. This bakery replaced a Wimpy's diner and I was curious to see how they would manage such a large space for a bakery. The store is well laid out with fridges and freezers that line the store, jam packed with delicious oven ready meals and hard to find eats. There are also isles stocked with jams, coffee, tea, pot noodles, biscuits and snacks from the old country. And in-store baked breads are spread out on tables near the display cases. I picked up 6 assorted meat pies and some Queen Victoria's during this visit and shared them with my family. I don't often make meat pies anymore as the kid still has yet to develop the taste for it, but for the adults in the family, this was a lovely treat to pick up several different flavours to sample (chicken pot pie, steak and gravy, steak and mushroom). We enjoyed our selection of pies and the dessert and look forward to returning to try out more delicious eats!

I dropped by Fusion Supermarket to get to Tagpuan. What?…read more I had placed a Too Good to Go order from Tagpuan. I then realized when I got here that it was inside Fusion Supermarket. Perfect! I needed to pick up a few grocery items. I could kill two birds with one stone. Aside: I've heard that this saying angers animal activists and I should say, "Mash two potatoes with a fork." But, wouldn't veggie activists be upset now? I had no problem finding this supermarket. It was brightly lit when the sun was set at around 6 pm on a Tuesday night. I found a parking spot relatively close to the main entrance and backed my car in. I then walked into the supermarket. I love visiting a new supermarket. I always feel comfortable in one, no matter where I am. I felt the same thing here. The produce section was amazing. It was vast and looked impeccable. I picked up celery that was flawless and wrapped in plastic wrap. I also got a huge avocado. I found Tagpuan straight ahead when I walked into the store. It's a great addition to a Filipino supermarket. The seafood section is impressive. There were huge tanks of fish. There was so much to look at, from pear mango drinks, to huge jackfruit. I didn't walk the entire supermarket, but I want to return to do just that. I was hungry, so I fetched my dinner and a few groceries before checking out. I had a friendly woman at the cashout area. My items were less than $10. I was paying with a debit card, which meant that a 25-cent charge was added to my grocery total. I was good with it. I don't carry cash during a pandemic and it was such a negligible cost. The woman bagged my items. I thanked her and left with my dinner and groceries. I enjoyed coming here. I'll need to check out the chicharron and snacks next time. I have a feeling that the selection is pretty good, judging from how the produce section looked and was. (74)

Fusion has a minimum of $40 for free delivery within 30 kms! And any online shopping done before 3 p.m. can be delivered the same day. Now, how is that for service and efficiency? If the requested item is not available, they will call you for substitution or cancellation of the item. As far as pricing goes, it has reasonable mark ups, in my opinion. And for speedy and quality of product, I will continue to order from Fusion for all my Asian grocery needs.

Tips: - It's 25 cents to use a shopping cart…read more - Al Premium produce is at this Walmart, which means fresh! - The George women's clothing section is nice, along with bright change rooms. This Walmart Supercentre is a five-minute drive from Malvern Mall (Town Centre) in the Malvern area of Scarborough. I flagged visiting this store after picking up some takeout from Tahini's across from it. I decided to check it out a couple of Saturdays ago. This store had a decent wave of customers, but it wasn't as crazy as the one in Richmond Hill at Highway 7 and Bayview. This one had a relaxed vibe, which I appreciated. You do need a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. I had one, thankfully. I needed the cart for my grocery haul. There was a promotion in the prepared foods section. I loved looking at the smoothies and bubble tea. The meals, such as the sweet and sour chicken with noodles, looked yummy. I like that this Walmart carries Al Premium products. All the meals, like BBQ chicken legs and BBQ pork on rice, are from Al Premium. I should shop at Al Premium one of these days. I feel like I have when I hit Walmart. The produce and fruit looked fresh and healthy. The dragon fruit looked especially yummy. I ended up getting peaches, green apples, and strawberries. I also got celery, an avocado, and lemons. I got ground beef. I could choose from value packs or get some in atubes. This store has a decent selection of yogurt. It had Activia in lactose-free vanilla and Silk key lime yogurt varieties that I love. It looked like there was a Silk sale on cashew and coconut beverage. I got a couple of cartons. The aisles at this store are exceptionally wide. It's nice having a ton of space to move around, especially with a shopping cart. I liked the cleaning supply section. It had everything that I needed. Although it's too early to be thinking about a puffy jacket, I saw some at this store by the cleanest, brightest change room. The price was decent. The plant section was also impressive. I liked seeing hanging plants and healthy leaves on potted ones. Like the Walmart in Box Grove, this one seems to close off the self-checkout kiosks. This store seems to want to you check out with a human. I don't mind it at all. I got a friendly woman at the checkout. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I bagged all my groceries and headed to my car. I got my quarter back from the cart. It was a good grocery shopping experience. I seem to be an anomaly with my review. I'm not sure why there are so many one-star reviews. It's a decent store with a supermarket. I prefer it over the Richmond Hill one for sure. (337)

I understand that this is a busy day as the new flyer is posted on Thursday. So the schedule should be reflected in availability of staff on the service counter. When I arrived there was 6 people ahead of me. One lady had to leave because she couldn't stand anymore. No one called for assistance at the service desk. As I was leaving the store I heard over the public announcement a request for assistance at the customer service "two little too late!!! The second reason for my bad review is the lack of stock documented in the flyer on the first day! What is wrong with this location it is constantly poorly stocked for quite some time. I recommend going to Pickering it is more efficient and better stocked.

It's mostly focused on Chinese ingredients, but they have enough items for Korean and Japanese that you can get by with in a pinch. They also seem to have separate mini boutiques for assorted tchotchkes and beauty products which I didn't investigate. The store looked pretty new and very clean. They also had an impressive array of hot and cold foods to-go that looked quite good, although I didn't try any. If I have any complaint, it is the fact that most of the vegetables are prepackaged in miles of plastic wrap and styrofoam... it is shocking to see. But aside from that, I'd have to say this beats the T&T by a good margin, and I am a T&T devotee from when they opened their first store in Burnaby in the early 90's!
