Every time I visit, I call ahead and have attempted to sell various high-end items, such as a Moncler Puffer, Gucci Jacket, Christian Dior Tote bag, and today, a matching Louis Vuitton wallet and satchel. Nevertheless, the same Asian sales associate has rejected my offers on every occasion, failing to provide any alternative solutions or proof of evidence on why the decline. This weekend I went to the grand opening of Lucky Dog's second location in the U District on University Way/ The Ave. The location of the premium thrift store is literally perfect, right by other thrift store on University Way. You can't miss the place with the large purple and gold Lucky Dog neon sign. When I first walked in I was shocked of how spacious and clean looking the store was. The wall to the right of the store is filled with countless amounts of Nike, Air Jordan, Adidas, limited sneakers in great conditions! Throughout the store you will find racks of vintage UW Husky Gear, Seattle Supersonic gear, clothes from premium brands like Polo Ralph Lauren, Anti Social Club, Tommy Hilfiger, Champion, and more. In the back of the store you are welcomed to a large room with a full height basketball hoop and half court, and racks of clothes with high end premium gear from brands like Bape, Supreme, and Nike. The best part about this place is that the two owners Jordan and Gus are very personable and want to help you find limited fashionable clothes. This place used to be great but they have a few people in there working that will be the downfall of this place. While profiting off of street culture and black culture, not only are they very green on what they sell but they are also disrespectful as they offered $20 to buy a personal piece of mine worth over $500 retail. I love visiting Lucky Dog whenever I have the time to or when they offer great steals! If you are looking for a place that sales great clothing/sneakers for a great price then Lucky Dog is the place for you. They have a big variety of things, from hype stuff to vintage clothing collection. Staff there are super nice and helpful whenever you need assistance. The only down side about visiting here is the parking, it's always packed on the street because of street parking, but I recommend parking at the Safeway down the block and just walking there. It's not bad at all! Lastly, if you like to see what they offer everyday, follow them on Instagram where they will post on their story every single day with different kind of sneakers/apparels. Also every day they have a special day that includes discounts on top of your purchase. For example, they would have 15% off if you make the basketball into the hoop. Definitely know the worth of your shoes or they WILL lowball you. Unfortunately I didn't look up how much my things were beforehand and I ended up getting $50 for a $400 pair of shoes. I see how I was stupid for not checking the price beforehand but they still shouldn't take advantage of their customers. Very unfortunate. read more

While I wish I could rate this shop higher.. I just can't. Around 5:30pm I walked in and had saw a pair of shoes that I was interested in, I spoke to an employee about how I was very interested and even asked what I need to do in order to place a "hold" on them while I ran back to my hotel room to grab a few pairs of shoes I was going to trade. I went back to my hotel and made it back to the store by 6:15, and the shoes I had been eyeing were still there. I walked up and told the employee I had spoken to that I was back and ready to make a few trades, little did I know that while I was being helped and was even told to "walk around and shop" (basically saying they were going to talk business but didn't want me at the counter, which is understandable) not even 2 minutes later the employee I had been speaking to about the shoes for going on an hour at this point, was checking someone out and grabbed the pair of shoes off of the counter and sold them out from underneath me. At that point I took all 3 pairs of my shoes and was no longer interested in doing business with this shop. After I explained to another employee what had happened he was apologetic and said that I should have told him I wanted that pair.. I figured that if there are only two employees in the store that they would talk about what shoe is being traded or bought by which customer, I thought wrong. Hoping to give them a another shot sometime down the road but for now, and with the employee who was "helping" me, I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you plan on getting disappointed. read more

Its nice not being bothered while looking around, but a "let me know if you need any help" is better than nothing. Better off on ebay, similar service levels, bigger selection. read more
