My family and I are regular customers at this location, frequently spending over $40 per visit. On this occasion, we placed an order totaling over $40 and received our drinks without any issues. While we were waiting for the remainder of our order, Tara approached the window and asked, "What are you waiting on?" I politely responded that we were still waiting for our food items. Instead of simply checking on our order, Tara responded with an extremely rude attitude, saying, "What food?" while making unnecessary and disrespectful hand gestures. What happened next was even more unacceptable. With the sliding window still open and well within earshot, Tara turned to her coworker and began making comments about me, stating, "He's not clear, he just said food," while making faces and displaying an incredibly unprofessional attitude. Not only was her statement inaccurate, but the fact that she felt comfortable openly mocking a paying customer was absolutely appalling. At that point, I immediately requested to speak with a manager. Tara proceeded to close the sliding window rather than address her behavior. When the manager arrived, I explained the entire situation and expressed how disrespectful and unnecessary Tara's behavior had been. I requested a simple apology from Tara, which I believe was the absolute bare minimum given how she had treated me. Instead, I was told that the manager "couldn't force her to apologize." While I understand that a manager cannot physically force an employee to apologize, I find it incredibly disappointing that such blatant disrespect toward a customer was not addressed more appropriately. Let me make something very clear: Customers do not deserve to be spoken down to, mocked, or treated as an inconvenience simply for asking about items they have already paid for. I did not force Tara to work at Starbucks, and whatever frustration she may have been experiencing does not give her the right to take it out on customers. I visit this location regularly with my family and consistently spend a significant amount of money here. To be treated with such hostility and disrespect over something as simple as asking about our food is completely unacceptable. What makes this experience particularly frustrating is that Tara showed absolutely no remorse, accountability, or willingness to apologize for her behavior. A little courtesy and basic professionalism would have prevented this entire situation. I will also be contacting Starbucks Corporate to formally report this incident because I genuinely believe this type of behavior deserves attention. Starbucks, your customers deserve better. An employee who openly mocks customers, makes disrespectful gestures, and refuses to acknowledge inappropriate behavior reflects extremely poorly on your establishment.
