This place is AMAZING. Especially for a vegetarian who hasn't had catsu in forever. I accidentally came across it while stuck in traffic and we've been craving it and coming back a couple times within a month. We live over an hour away. The chicken stays crispy for a long time and reheats nicely as leftovers. Everything we've ordered is really good and crave-worthy. We got the lucky catsu, curry catsu, crispy shrimp, spam masubi, catsu masubi, orange chicken, crispy chicken. Top two favorites are lucky and curry catsu. Small things I'd personally wish to change is that the onion is too strong in the macaroni salad. Wish it wasn't in there period. And the rice is a little on the dryer side and it sticks to the container- so when you scrape up the last bits of rice, you could be eating the paper from the container. I like that they use compostable containers though!! But yeah the rice is on the harder side especially as leftovers. But whatever, their main items are bomb and makes me not care about anything else. Service is quick! Note: it is not a sit down restaurant. You order (ahead) and park on the street and call them to let them know you're outside. They'll bring the food out. Reception isn't great outside fyi. I've been here 3 times and never last long enough to get a photo before digging in. There are two other vegan restaurants right next to it, same concept - order and pick up. Yummy yummy vegan food. This not a restaurant; pickup only. Order online. Then when they notify that your order is ready and you drive up to the curb, you can call them when you're at the door. Catsu Frank was outstanding and my ultimate favorite. Loaded Island Fried Chicken Fries was really good and they put sauces on the side. Never disappointed with the Mac box. Hibachi spam and egg fried rice was expectedly salty which we loved. Asian fire wings was pleasantly tasty; glad it didn't set my mouth on fire. Chow mein was okay. When you carry it to your car, just be careful as sometimes the sauces are tilted and the lids might pop off and leak a bit. We order ahead so we can pick up and go. You can add utensils to the order. If you're extremely hungry and want to eat right away, there is a convenient park across the street but be on the look out for homeless. read more

Those Vegan prices almost got me deep breathing until I actually tried their amazing food. It's pickup only but worth the excursion and almost speakeasy feeling of picking up your order. I've been Vegan for *a few* years and this is the only Hawaiian style plate I've had that seems worthy of the praise I've seen hyped upon the cuisine. The catsu curry was everything and more I could hope for. Curry sauce? BOMB! Catsu? BOMB! Macaroni? BOMB! Rice? Just like anywhere else. That catsu was oddly perfect. I couldn't figure out which chicken they use but they chose the right one, or it's made in house? I could pretty much drink that rich, thick, spicy curry sauce. The breakfast burrito was the real highlight of this meal. I've ordered these all over the world. This may just be our favorite. The price is top tier but so is that gosh darn burrito! You people here at this business really need to learn how to update your hours of operation. It's not that hard to indicate this on your website or Yelp if your facility is open or not. This is the second time that we drove here and the place is not open. Yelp says they're open but they don't even bother changing their hours or indicating this anywhere. They don't update anything, nor do they care. It's just bad business. We don't live in the area and commute 40 minutes just to get here. This place really needs to work on their communication. It really leaves a bad rep for your business. As loyal customers this problem needs to be fixed. We left messages on their phone, left messages on their Yelp and even texted their number. NO ONE EVEN REPLIED. Last time they said they had a "family emergency" but now I think an ongoing and recurring bs to make up excuses for their failure. I almost never give such low reviews :( but when your stomach feels like it got mutilated and you know it's the food cause it happened instantly like within 25 minutes after ingestion and it's the only thing you ate all day and was perfectly fine after your other meals the days prior.... There are a plethora of vegan Asian/Polynesian staples, however, I can't really think of more than TWO places that offer specifically Hawaiian food! Diana has wonderful concept here! Bold flavors, big portions, & having customizable options. Her loco moco is outstanding & the very first thing I tried when she had a pop-up (that unfortunately closed). The gravy, the rice, the patties, the "egg", the mac salad... BOMB! The mac salad & lumpia together are a meal on that alone. Majority of their sauces are housemade! I love that! This is a late review but I need more vegans and non vegans to go to this place. I finally got to try Lucky Catsu about a week ago and I am still dreaming about their food! I got the Catsu Sando, the regular spam musubi and the one that had Mac salad in it and for desert I had to get their Ube pancakes I love Hawaiian food and this place is THAT place. I also shared my food with someone who isn't vegan and he was blown away at how "real" everything tasted and had me double check that it was all vegan. Wow. What can I really say? I ordered from here completely unaware that this was meant to be vegan. I ordered the orange chicken plate with white rice & chow mein, and a macsubi buy 1 get 1. (Ordered from postmates) I did not question at all how much it tasted like chicken, and the spam tasted like real spam. Everything was astoundingly well seasoned, the chow mein was a little salty for my taste but very flavorful nonetheless. On the photos in Postmates it shows a very large portion of orange chicken--which it wasn't really, but I did place the order around 10:30 or so, and they closed at 12 so would be an unfair assessment. If I had not received their paper ad from the order, or looked them up AFTER eating, I promise I would have never known this was not real meat. Lucky Catsu is now at a ghost kitchen located in the same building as Cena Vegan and All Vegan Franks. They are typically a pop up at Vegan Playground on Wednesday nights at Boomtown Brewery. I've been a fan of their food since their debut. I placed an order ahead of time on their website for their Island Fried Chicken Plate, Spam Macsubi, Catsu Moco Plate, and their Fries Box. When I arrived, I just happened to arrive at the same time as 5 other people so my order took like 5-10 minutes longer to come out but that's no problem. Staff were nice. I'm not sure what system they have but they want you to call or text when you arrive for your food. It's curbside pick up only. Catsu Moco Plate sauce came on the side. Food was delicious as usual. Short story: You cannot trust this place! I placed an order. They charged my card. I waited 20-25 minutes. They didn't answer the phone. They were not even there! This is the second time they have failed me. Long story: I had their food once, when I stumbled across their popup. The food was really good! I was excited when they opened this location in my neighborhood. When they first opened, they listed their hours starting at 11:00am. I told a friend of mine about them and we planned to have lunch Friday, 4/19/24. I was excited to introduce her to their food. When we went to order, their website would only take orders starting at 4:00pm. I contacted them through Instagram and they said, "We unexpectedly had a delay, but will be open at 4:00pm today." Well, 4:00pm was too late. So, my friend and I ate somewhere else. Fast forward to yesterday, 5/31/24. It took me this long to work out a date and time for my friend and I to try Lucky Catsu again. In the morning, I checked out their website and placed an order for pickup at 5:00pm. So did my friend. See screen shot of my text confirmation of my order. I picked up my friend and we drove to the location. Note, this location is a ghost kitchen. It's in a brick building with a metal door. There are no windows, no place you can enter. You park at the curb, and they bring your food out to you. There are other businesses there serving food the same way. We waited and waited. We tried three times to call the phone number on their website. We got voicemail every time. No one called us back. We sat there for 20-25 minutes waiting and trying to figure out why they were not bringing our food out. While we were waiting, a woman working for Cena Vegan brought out many orders to people waiting. We asked if she knew if Lucky Catsu was there. She said she had not seen them all day long. THERE WAS NO ONE THERE FROM LUCKY CATSU!!! She said that if we wanted to order from them, she could have our food ready in a couple minutes. So, we placed orders with Cena Vegan, and she brought our food out in 4 minutes!!! I have eaten Cena Vegan's food for years. It's good. They are reliable and they are expanding. Thank you to Cena Vegan for rescuing our dinner! Lucky Catsu needs to talk with Cena Vegan and learn from them. Since no one at Lucky Catsu was there and they were not answering the phone, I later tried to contact them again through Instagram. They asked me where I placed my order, and I told them through their website. They said it should have said they were closed. IT DID NOT! (After I contacted them, their website was updated to show they were not taking orders.) See screen shot showing that they are supposed to be open Friday at 4:00pm! Only after I told them that they had charged my credit card, did they issue me a refund! When I told them I placed an order, they should have refunded me then. I should NOT have to ask for them to refund me. They had all day to see my order and reach out to me that they were closed and issue a refund. They did not! This time I did not get a single apology from them! After having failed twice, I expected a huge apology. Especially after my friend and I sat there for almost 25 minutes waiting. I did not get "Let us try and make this up to you." I got nothing from them! My friend now refuses to try them again and I'm feeling pretty much the same. You can't trust their phone number on their website. They won't answer during business hours and they will not call you back. You can't trust the hours or days on their website. You can't trust their ordering system. I asked them to explain to me what happened and to give me a reason why I should ever trust them enough to place another order. I got no response from them. So, I guess the answer is that YOU CANNOT TRUST THEM! I'm still waiting for them to respond to my questions. Clearly, they do not care about their customers, nor do they care about customer service. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me! Unless they make drastic changes and get their act together, they are going to fail. When they do, they will only have themselves to blame. read more

Some of the best food i've had honestly. Ever since I went mostly plant based I have not been able to find any filipino food, and while this is hawaiian, many of the items on the menu are similar/have similar taste profiles to the food i had as a kid.
