To be very honest, I love this place so much. I am currently sad because they are not open. I've been looking every day to see when they will open back up from the macaroni to the spam. Anything that you get here is good.

Overall 3.5/5 I really enjoyed the honey walnut "shrimp". My family's favorite was the bulgogi. Everything was quite decent. My only gripe is that the portions are a bit small for the price.

You people here at this business really need to learn how to update your hours of operation. It's not that hard to indicate this on your website or Yelp if your facility is open or not. This is the second time that we drove here and the place is not open. Yelp says they're open but they don't even bother changing their hours or indicating this anywhere. They don't update anything, nor do they care. It's just bad business. We don't live in the area and commute 40 minutes just to get here. This place really needs to work on their communication. It really leaves a bad rep for your business. As loyal customers this problem needs to be fixed. We left messages on their phone, left messages on their Yelp and even texted their number. NO ONE EVEN REPLIED. Last time they said they had a "family emergency" but now I think an ongoing and recurring bs to make up excuses for their failure. BEWARE to customers--you'll end up wasting your time and money and efforts supporting the business if this persists.

The food was very tasty and flavorful. Their portion size will definitely fill you up. I love the vegan Mac salad! It's the best I've had so far. The Musubi was so flavorful. I think it has a Hawaiian sweet sauce that elevates the flavors. I do suggest less rice. I think too much rice takes away from the flavor. Overall, great food!

OH.MY.GOODNESS. I am from Hawaii and got so excited when I ran across Lucky Catsu. I can't find local-style vegan food like this at home, so I was shocked when I found it in LA! I tried the spam musubi and mochiko chicken plate...totally blown away by the flavor profiles and how spot-on it was compared to the "real thing". Broke da mouth for sure - mahalo!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Perfect texture and saltiness. The catsu is awesome and worth the drive to get. Couldn't say it more. Simplistic kitchen concept with a unique flare!

this place has prob became a go to for us bc it's close, vegan, stays open late, and literally SOOO good like wtf..! it pretty much checks all the boxes. tried the breakfast french toast plate and the potatoes were the best breakfast potatoes i've had in forever. my only thing was that the eggs were very salty but nothing good ol ketchup couldn't fix because i'd def get this plate again. then weeks later, tried the beef bulgogi and fried catsu with curry plate. the absolute STAR was the macaroni salad omg pure mac salad perfection..i could've just ate a plate of that. the rice was the perfect texture and the catsu with the curry was crazy, even the curry poured over rice was a must. i wasn't a huge fan of the bulgogi because of the texture; it was like wet jerky imo but the flavor was there. i just hope this business never disappears! GO SUPPORT VEGAN KITCHENS!

There are a plethora of vegan Asian/Polynesian staples, however, I can't really think of more than TWO places that offer specifically Hawaiian food! Diana has wonderful concept here! Bold flavors, big portions, & having customizable options. Her loco moco is outstanding & the very first thing I tried when she had a pop-up (that unfortunately closed). The gravy, the rice, the patties, the "egg", the mac salad... BOMB! The mac salad & lumpia together are a meal on that alone. Majority of their sauces are housemade! I love that! Their breakfast items are a repeat for me! The pancakes with ube drizzle keep me coming back. I love the staff here, like Destiny. Very friendly & lovely. They work hard! I have had majority of the menu... & I know there are more options to come. I personally am a very busy person, I don't mind ordering my food in person, over the phone, or online and going to pick up my food & being on my way.

Ask the Community - Lucky Catsu

Is this one of those shared food kitchens that has 10 restaurants for pick-up only?

I'm not sure of the exact setup, but the pick up location was a little confusing. There were a lot of signs for other restaurants, so it might be.

I saw a few YouTubers eating food from moo's Craft so knew I had to have it on my list of places to try when visiting socal. My group and I decided to stop here for our lunch before going to universal studios since it was along the way. Parking is pretty confusing for us. They state there's a lot behind the building to park at, but it looks liked you have to pay and we weren't sure which lot. So we just did street parking. We did go around 1:30 pm on a Thursday, so did not have much of an issue with finding street parking. Inside the restaurant, they have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. There's no wait staff, so you go to the counter and order and once it's ready, they call your name/number and you pick up your tray of food from the counter. We ordered the El trio platter, which comes with 1 lbs of brisket, 1 lbs of pork ribs, 2 sausages (chili relleno and cheddar jalapeno) and 2 sides (which we chose Mac and cheese and red potato salad). We also saw the burgers from YouTube so got 2 of the Thicc burgers to share among everyone. We got a sides of the Texas chili to try. Everything was great. Our group really enjoyed the food and everyone said the BBQ was some of the best they've had. The brisket was really tender and seasoned well. Everything was seasoned well actually. The burger was great. It was soft, great flavor and was just really solid. One of the best burgers I've had. The ribs were everyone's least favorite, but that just means the other food tasted better. Ribs were still good. All the sides were delicious as well. The Texas chili was great, the Mac and cheese was creamy and the potato salad tasted homemade. We could tell it was made in house. The sweet iced tea was refreshing, not overly sweet b Overall, I'll have to come back here to try their desserts and other items. I'll for sure be getting the burger and brisket again.

The katsu was also very nice and crunchy! The seafood pancake was also pretty good too, very hefty. I would say it's a bit undercooked(?) so you can taste the batter a bit and everything inside of it, but I thought it was still pretty good since the top layer has a very nice crisp.
