Gorgeous spot. Surrounded by the growing grapes and tasting their delicious wines was only made better by the perfectly arranged charcuterie.

Great hospitality! Luckett vineyards is a great place to stop by to sample some wine, grab a quick lunch on the patio (amazing view) and take a tour of the vineyard. Don't forget your selfie with the infamous red phone box. Favourite wines : tidal bay white, phone box red, phone box white and the fizz. Food 4/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Service 6/5 Note: still chilly in late MAY, first bud just started. Less crowded during this time. I recommend early June if you're looking to go when it's less crowded and warmer. Tip: A quick tip around the 100ml rule : If you didn't check a bag and are flying DOMESTIC in Canada. You can buy Luckett wine at the airport AFTER security check at the store called "Liquid Assets" and bring it on the plane.

Very nice outdoor to sit have a nice lunch with an amazing view on the vineyards! A bit crowded on Sunday with locals but worth the experience. We started with oysters and they were so good especially the one from Eel lake!! Yum yum! After, I had a Cubano with fries. Very good. We enjoyed after that some wine tasting, 5 whites, 1 Rose and 2 Red. My favorite was the Ortega and Tidal bay in white and the Rosetta was smooth and fruity as a Rose. A nice walk into the vineyards was the cherry on the cake! Must pass by if you are in the corner!

We had a lovely lunch here. We were in the area to look at the tides. My husband found out that they serve lunch here. It was wonderful. Our server Kyla was very nice. We started with a bottle of the Tidal Pay white wine and on dozen oysters. We got four of three different oysters. It was nice to try different ones from the area. My father ordered the Churchill sandwich, which is basically a roast beef panini. He enjoyed it. My husband got the seafood pie. He also stated it was good. I ordered the cheese board and the seafood chowder. The chowder was perfect. The view is amazing as well. Overall a perfect set up. Who knew a winery could provide such wonderful food. We then did a tasting. $10 for a five taste of your choice or $5 for a three taste of your choice. Most of their wines are good. The server was friendly and helpful. We ended up buying a few bottles of wine. My husband also go to speak to Pete the owner for a bit. He is very proud and hands on. Great to see that in an owner. Overall friendly staff and a nice experience. Highly recommend a stop and a meal here.

Oh Luckett Vineyard, where do I start with you? We came to Luckett's because my SO had been here last year while visiting family and I've been wanting to come here ever since. We decided that we would come for most of the day, taking in a tour, grab some lunch, and do some wine tastings. The Vineyard is located in the Grand Pré area, and it overlooks the valley. Perched up on the hill, the setting is serene and gorgeous. It's one of the most romantic vineyards I have been to, and I've been to a lot! Don't forget to check out their famous phone booth located in the middle of the vineyard... You can call anywhere in North America for free! We got there just as they were opening and jumped into the first tour. It was perfect with there only being 6 of us. We could hear and see everything that our guide was sharing. The tour started in their first field, one of the many they now own throughout the valley. We got to learn all about the process of growing and picking the perfect grapes each season. The passion and romance that goes into making each bottle of wine from Luckett Vineyard is incredible. After seeing where the grapes are grown, we got to see where they are fermented and then left in barrels for the right number of years for aging. After our tour, we headed out to the Crush Pad Bistro to grab lunch. We started with two appetizers for the table: the cheese board and a dip trio. Although I didn't have any of the dips, I was told by the rest of my party that they were delicious. The cheese tray had a wonderful selection of seasonal cheeses and fruit to indulge in. By the time we were done, I didn't know how I was going to be able to manage to eat my Valley Panini that I ordered for an entree. The sandwich I ordered was delicious! Loaded with ham, cheddar, spinach, and apple slices, it was the perfect choice for the hot day. It was served with a Kale salad topped with pancetta and a crostini. I chose to get it without salad dressing, but it does com with a mango-infused Caesar dressing. For dessert, we chose to skip the sweets and go right for the wine tasting. They have a few different tasting options, but we chose to try 5 wines. We broke this down into 3 whites, a fruit wine, and a dessert wine. They were all very enjoyable, but my favourite would have to be the Tidal Bay white. I hope to be able to make it back to Luckett Vineyard again very soon. The atmosphere was amazing, the location is perfect, and it was just an all-around amazing experience.

We were at Luckett vineyards for a special evening event, the vintage tasting dinner, so this review is of that evening, which may not represent their regular service. This was an amazing evening, with a five course meal paired with various wines from the vineyard. It's a beautiful setting, perched on the south mountain with a view of the valley and cape blomidon which goes on forever on a clear day. We were seated on the outdoor terrace. The evening kicked off with some of the sparkling wine, labelled as "Fizz", a delightful off-dry wine, very refreshing when served with some yummy snow crab, cucumber and foie gras bites. First course was paired with a white, a lovely fresh vegetable medley. Then there were scallops, cooked to absolute perfection. Third up, and moving on to the reds, we had duck breast followed by lamb. Dessert was a delicious cherry chocolate vanilla confection served with the ice wine... divine! The owner, Pete Luckett, was present all evening and made a point of visiting each table to say hello. Service was on point, well paced and friendly. They even accommodated my dad who doesn't like lamb, and substituted steak for his fourth course (with advance notice). Really a spectacular night, showcasing the local produce and Pete's wines, which are getting better and better. The Fizz and the ice wine in particular are standouts. If you get the opportunity to attend an event like this, you are in for an amazing treat.

    Amazing view from the patio.

No review can really give Luckett Vineyards it's proper due. It's a truly remarkable place for the atmosphere, the staff, the food and, of course, the wine. Pete Luckett has an incredible knack for executing a concept to near perfection. First, let's talk about the view from the vineyard's patio. Spectacular. I have been visiting the Annapolis Valley pretty much my whole life and this view is one of the best. Go on a clear day when you can see across to the Blomidon Look Off and the tranquil, magical waters of the Bay of Fundy. No picture can truly capture the wonder of it. We were lucky enough to have Pete serve us at the tasting bar when we arrived. He is an avuncular fellow and always has a raffish charm with the ladies. He took a shine immediately to my wife lol He offered us a nice sample of his new white wine and we browsed the food and wine section of the vineyard before being seated. Although it was sunny the day we went, it was a bit chilly and the vineyard knew this - they had wool throws at each table for the guests' comfort. Great establishments anticipate guest needs and deliver with style! We were more hungry than thirsty and ordered straight away from the varied and interesting menu. The menu is chock-a-block with local ingredients and thoughtful suggestions for wine pairings. The local ham and cheese with pear sandwich grabbed my attention (and my stepmom's, she ordered the same), my dad had the ratatouille pie with kale salad, and my lovely wife had the local roast beef sandwich with chips. All were significant dishes for lunch, so be sure to go to Luckett's with an appetite. My sandwich was great - warm ham and melted cheese on a fresh bun melted in my mouth, the pear adding a sweet and intriguing flavour. The beef soup that I ordered as a side was fantastic - hearty and satisfying, rich and savoury, the way a good beef soup should be. My wife's roast beef sandwich was also excellent and served with homemade chips. My dad was very happy with his ratatouille pie, although I am not certain that he enjoyed the kale salad all that much, perhaps because it's just not his thing. Service was courteous and friendly. It took a while for the food to come out, however, the kitchen had just opened for the day, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. PRO TIP - My wife and I ventured down to the red phone booth in the vineyard for a quick photo shoot. We discovered that not only is phone booth fully operational, but that you can also call anywhere in North America for FREE! Amazing. We called her mom in New York, who was thrilled to hear from us on our vacation. Hats off Lucketts, that was a truly nice touch! Luckett Vineyards will most certainly stay on our "must visit" list in Nova Scotia for a very, very long time. Toodlee-doo!

When the girls call and say "let's eat lunch at a vineyard" you say yes ! Luckett Vineyard is an hour drive from downtown Halifax, not far from the town of Wolfville. The views from the bistro are beautiful with a large tented terrace that overlooks the valley below, Blomidon and the Minas Basin. All dining is al fresco and if it's a bit chilly the staff provides fleece blankets, a nice touch. The menu offers a variety of options. Something for everyone food wise & a nice selection of wines, because, well, it is a vineyard ! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal of pan fried haddock with a delicious parsnip puree, slaw & seasonal salsa. Paired with a glass of their crisp & fruity Rosetta wine made for an enjoyable & tasty meal. Friendly and attentive servers kept pace with the quickly filling tables. Well worth a return visit.

The Pete's Frootique empire grows! We stopped by the Luckett Vineyards on our own makeshift winery tour through the Gaspereau Valley recently and was charmed by the modern, quirky, yet upscale feel of the place. Perfect example: there's a big red British phone booth in the middle of the first vineyard you'll see which apparently lets visitors make free phone calls to anywhere in Canada. Hilarious! There's a small patio with a handful of tables for lunches off the small but delectable menu featuring all local ingredients. Plus, a gourmet cheese case on site will hook you up with everything you need for a custom wine-and-cheese picnic if you're into that sort of thing. Which, let's face it, who isn't?

For those of you who don't already know, Luckett's is owned and run by the famous Pete, of Fruitique fame. The man who did more to promote Sunday trading in Nova Scotia than anyone else. Mr Luckett moved into wine making some years ago and this is his place. Situated in the Valley, it has as fine a view as you could wish for. Here you can take a tour of the winery; dine on the terrace in season, or in the restaurant if wet; taste and buy the many different wines produced; browse a very wide selection of local confections, such as jellies, jams and pickles. None of it will come particularly cheap, but you won't feel gouged either. Four of us visited in the early Autumn of 2018, on a sunny if not overly hot day and were honoured to be attended to by Pete himself who seems as irrepressibly full of life as ever. England's loss was definitely Canada's gain. A very fine lunch was enjoyed by all, washed down with a variety of the winery's output, followed up by an educational and reasonably priced tasting at the bar. This is a great day out, especially on a nice day, though beware that it's also a very popular day out, so it can get a bit crowded in season.

Beautiful view from an amazing place!

We went from there to Johnny Ks, where we had a bite-sized beef gyro, which while tasty, was a very small portion, and nothing special. From there we puttered out of the downtown area to the Chain Yard Cidery, where one of the managers met with the group and shared great details about their business, along with two shots of cider (which were both delicious), and a tasty treat. From there we went to Salvatore's for a mini slice of cold pizza (underline & italicize mini and cold), which was extremely disappointing. We wrapped up at Five Fishermen, for chowder and wine, which was the highlight (followed by the Chain Yard). The chowder was a good portion, and I appreciated the two glasses of local wines. I've taken food tours in other cities, and was expecting similar (more upscale). Their price is less than other tours I've taken (which helps), but I didn't take a food tour to have a bite of a gyro and a cold half-a-slice of pizza. I understand the lobster roll as a coastal treat, and it was very fresh, the other two stops were what I was expecting for the entire experience. With so many restaurants in the downtown area, I'm not sure why we drove to the outskirts and back. I thought there would've been a stop for a scoop of infamous Nova Scotian homemade ice cream (plenty of options, and relatively cheap). If Five Fisherman didn't accommodate our food-allergy (nothing was offered as an alternative at Goldwater), I would've been extremely frustrated, and our tour-guide wasn't sure they'd have something for us, even though we gave advanced notice of the shellfish allergy and they said it would be fine. On the plus side, the tour guide did a great job sharing the history of Halifax, was very knowledgeable about local wines, and enthusiastic about the food scene.

Very well paced, just enough alcohol to keep it fun but not get too crazy, and great food as well. They easily accommodated our vegetarian group, which was nice. I would easily recommend this if you have friends in from out of town and are looking for something more fun than the typical tourist fare.

It looks like this place still needs a little bit of refining but it has some pretty good potential in the next few years. The wine is decent. Their red really is good but their rosé is a little bit more fruity than we like and much darker than expected. Not a huge selection here but a really nice location overlooking the vineyard. I'd personally skip the food as it seems like it's being too fancy for what it is. We got the cheese board and it definitely is trying to be a little more fancy than it is. It comes with 3 cheeses and there are only 3 options so if you don't like blue cheese, let them know when you order so they can give you more of one of the other two. The thing we found odd was the tacky Breton crackers. It would have been nice to have some kind of artisan crackers instead and perhaps some sort of a jam, jelly or spread. We found it to be a little tacky for $16. The service was a little bit in the middle and we waited around a while to even get a menu. Once the server recognized we weren't helped yet, she apologized and picked up from there which made us not want to get up and leave like originally planned. Overall, I think this place is worth a shot but perhaps don't expect to be wowed and maybe grab a meal before you show up. I can see this being a great place to do a flight just to try what they've got or just have a glass of wine on the patio that's being extended (they were working on it while we were there). Lots of parking and just off the road.
